Mezza Ratings and Reviews
This was our fourth time out at Mezza and it seems to get better each time. The grilled octopus is grilled to perfection, the short ribs were memorable and the seafood risotto steals the show. Our waiter, ?Ryan, was great, added to the enjoyable experience. This has become one of our favorite local restaurants.
I have been to Mezza multiple times and was never disappointed until this time, I felt like it fell a bit short. The artichoke appetizer, which I was really looking forward to, was not very hot and mostly crumbs, not much meat to the artichoke. The dinners were good. Over the years they have become one of the more expensive BYOB's in the area and maybe that's why I'm not as forgiving. Our waitress was wonderful. Their hummus is still awesome, , however I hope this was just a lukewarm night overall.
Went here on a Monday evening with a client. We were one of 3 tables which meant we had the attention of their staff. Our waitress was very friendly and knew the menu very well. Her recommendations were right on the mark. We ordered a number of appetizers that were all excellent (a cauliflower dish, hummus, grilled octopus and some other dips). One of the specials was a Grouper over Israeli couscous. The fish was spiced just right and the flavor was terrific. One of the better pieces of grouper i've had. Others at the table ordered steak which was also very good.
In addition to enjoying a great meal, this is a BYOB. BINGO! Overall, an outstanding meal and i'll be back with my wife on a weekend. Enjoy
Mezza was great. We got the mezza, which was a choice of three dips. The hummus, Moroccan tomato spread, and the roasted eggplant were so delicious. We also ordered the crispy cauliflower, which was amazing, great texture and flavor. Everyone loved there entrees. I got the duck, which was great, but I preferred my boyfriend’s skirt steak. The flavor on that was absolutely amazing. Overall, great night.
Having read some negative reviews on yelp (although most were 4 star) my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was decorated in a very classy look. The food was delicious and the service was extremely friendly and conscientious. A good night all and all.
We brought friends from outside the area to Mezza. While we had not been there in a while, the food is consistent. Two orders of crab cakes and one of the baked cauliflower started the meal after we had shared hummus and pita (we like to start with the hummus as it speeds up our men selections).
For the main course, we selected the shrimp dish, the salmon and each of the lamb entrees (the shank and the rack special). Each of them were thoroughly enjoyed.
For desert we shared a chocolate soufflé and the ricotta fritters, each needing to be ordered in advance.
Service and food are consistently good. For this, we try to return with some regularity.
Food was very good and service was fine, except that 1 person received the wrong entree . Also, 1 of the desserts takes 30 minutes and another was a 15 minute wait, but we were not told this until we had finished our meal and table was cleaned; this should have been told to us earlier.
Mezza is magnificent. The food is off the charts delicious. The hummus is like velvet, simply devine. All the appetizers we tried were great and our main courses, fish and duck, didn't disappoint. Great service and yummy dessert added to the great experience we had at Mezza.
Very nice environment and service but I was surprised that this restaurant won the 2017 Diners' Choice Award. Food is just not good enough! Appetizers were well executed but some are way overpriced. Too much vinegar in one of the eggplant salads. Sautéed Shrimp dish was dry and shrimp was chewy. It needed lemon juice or something. Chicken Kebob (spiced ground chicken) was also dry.
Mezza has a good, reasonable lunch menu. Interesting, great variety, all done well. We recently went for dinner on a Saturday night. The server would not take our appetizer order without an entree order as well. Only when we insisted twice did she relent. We understood that there are 2 seatings, but this is not the way to handle time constraints. The food is good but not excellent and therefore very overpriced.
