Great drinks and appetizers. Unfortunately, the main meal took over 45 minutes to arrive....and my food was not great. Our server overall was okay, but not super attentive. The enchiladas my husband had were great though. We will be back, but hopefully will have a smoother dining experience next time. I think our food ticket got lost for the main meal, but no touch points from a manager or any fix for the fact that all other tables got their food except us for almost an hour.
Couldn’t be happier
This is our new weekly get away
Jon Michael is our favorite however everyone has been awesome
Can’t recommend enough
a bit loud for a Tuesday evening, but awesome food, drinks and decor! Will definitely return
We met friends for brunch and both the atmosphere and food were outstanding! Highly recommend the eggs Benedict. Good times!
Great experience, definitely going again!!
Great service, excellent food, and great ambiance. So sooo impressed and happy with our experience
Went there for a birthday request dinner. First time there. Atmosphere was awesome and our Waiter was awesome. I had a classic frozen margarita for 10.00 dollars was disappointed of the size of it for that price. The food was just ok for me. I had the chicken fajitas and did not like the black beans that came with it. The menu selection to I thought could have given you more options especially the appetizers. Glad I went. Probably wouldn’t go back.
Came back for 6 month anniversary. Was good, howerver, bar was a bit behind and took longer than expected to get drinks. Food was very good. Service was very good.
I love it
It was perfect
Food was fantastic
We started with your squash blossom quesadillas , which were delicious. Our drinks arrived and 3 of us ordered a tequila based drink. Unfortunately, they were terrible. I’ve had many frozen sangria swirls and this was one of the worst. Anyway, we asked our waitress what was up with the drinks? She said you changed out to a new smokey tequila and that was prob the reason we didn’t care fior the swirl, the frozen margaritas and the classic margarita.
Our enchiladas and grilled salmon were very delicious as well as our churros.
We will be back but will not order smokey tequila.
Authentic Mexican ambiance and decor. The seafood paella is best I’ve ever had. Extremely savory and flavorful. Excellent restaurant overall.
Waiter was very slow. Ordered margaritas and received way after with it obviously sitting at the bar melting.
It was slightly louder than I expected and our service was also slower than I expected however it was very busy so we were understanding. The margaritas were top notch as well
We celebrated Mother's Day and the experience was great!!!! We will definitely be back.
When we arrived the staff was overwhelmed by the amount of people waiting to be sat. They told us they were not honoring reservations from Open Table for the day due to their kitchen being an hour behind.
We were sat by the manager. She brought us chips and drinks-very sweet.
When our food did arrive it was cold. The flavor was good; however, it was really cold.
Food took long tine to get to our table and it was already cold when we received it. But we got it, it was Mother’s Day and they were extremely busy.
Planned a special Morhers day with a reservation 3 weeks in advance and had a 1 1/2 wait for food. Explanation was the kitchen was backed up which for a major Holiday should be planned better
NEVER will I plan a special event here again as multiple tables were waiting in excess of an hour for thier food ... totally unacceptable for such a special day
Mothers day celebration, totally disaster, waiting 1,15 minutes to get our food and when arrives it was cold, very bad experience
Seated in full sun, no umbrellas, chicken was tough and never got tortillas. Kids meal was wrong and had to the new one to go. Service was so slow
Disappointed was seated 5 steps from the kitchen and employee prep area. Got a chance to watch employees scarf down food as well as serve customers. before my experience at Mexican sugar was over I knew the whole employees routine from the kitchen to the bar and employees snacking habits. Very disappointed in my meal ...paid so much and got so little. $18 for Steak and Eggs...the avacado slice was bigger than my steak. I had to do a double take and thought someone was pulling a joke on me. Still never recieved my tortillas the waiter promised me and my guest. Sad
Had been looking forward to dining at Mexican Sugar for Mother's Day for a few weeks. Even invited friends. Friends who weren't able to get a drink of water for 15 minutes. Placed our order before 12:15 - received our food after 1 pm. Asked about our food and was told it was the busiest day of the year. If you don't have enough servers or cooks or whatever is needed, STOP TAKING RESERVATIONS. Let people go somewhere else. Asked to speak to a manager and told the same thing. Then food started coming piecemeal. Cold French toast was up first. Then my lukewarm benedictos rancheros - I've never had eggs Benedict where the egg was scrambled hard. They did remove that from the bill. My pancakes were dry even though I asked for extra syrup on the side when I placed my order. They were cold by the time the syrup arrived. I also felt like they were unapologetic - like it was my fault for making reservations on Mother's Day. I've had great experiences at Mexican Sugar so I will likely give them another chance to redeem themselves. My husband won't. It just boggles my mind that they did extra advertising to get people in for Mother's Day and they dropped the ball like they did. Did I mention there were empty tables?
Great food and atmosphere! Loved the attention to detail on everything, even the food!
We went for Mother’s Day.. it was a bit tricky because we thought their brunch was a buffet brunch but it was just their usual menu. However, the food was delicious though the Churros was over fried. Watch out, the Bloody Mary is super spicy!!
We had an incredible night and loved reservations through Open Table! I made reservations, invited via text all persons in our party to confirm. Four hours before our 830pm reservation the restaurant called and left me a voicemail to remind me of our reservations. I called back to confirm. I did mention needing a high chair over the phone and didn’t have it set up. Luckily there was always someone around a few steps away. We were able to get one with just a quick request and didn’t wait long to receive it. All smiles and my super picky parents were over the moon thrilled and satisfied with their respective meals. ... I’m. Or even going to lie... there were forks passed around with tiny bites attached. It’s just that good. I’ve been several times but first time using Open Table. Definitely doing this again and of course coming back for next years Mother’s Day, Ladies brunch, Birthday, Labor Day... Wednesday lol... you know. All the important days 😊
Hi- there were 6 of us dining at Mexican Sugar on Saturday the 11th. Our waitress seemed to be having a bad day, and while I can understand an off day, the service just wasn't good. Two of us ordered the flight of margaritas and asked if one of the margaritas could be substituted for something else. She was adamant that could not be done. (Again, Im sure a lot of people ask this, our waitress just seemed annoyed we were asking)
Also- when we dine with this particular group we were with, we ALWAYS order dessert. And we weren't even offered dessert. As soon as the last plate was cleared from our table, she handed us our check.
Also, the one of the stalls was out of toilet paper in the woman's restroom and there was no soap!
The food was good though.
Food was great as always. Our server (Sebastian) was not as good as other servers we have had there. He didn't really anticipate our needs.
It was so loud could not enjoy conversation.
Such a great place! Food was great, service was awesome, and drinks were even better!
Front staff was very rude to me and my friends. It was out first time trying out the place and will definitely not be going back.
Our third time
Our new home
Gracias mi amigos!!
I was not told they were hosting a company party. I took clients here for dinner and was seated at the entrance to their party room. People from this party remained gathered around us, some mistook us as part of their group and introduced themselves.
I had to walk to the kitchen on 3 occasions for chips, drink refills and tortillas.
I will not be back.
Always great service, great food and the atmosphere is so romantic!
We were seated outside so noise level was low. AC was cranked up inside so we chose to sit outside.
Food was so fresh tasting and delicious. Service was good too.
The service was slow, drinks were over-poured, and the food was over-seasoned.
The restaurant was so loud, we had to practically shout to have a conversation.
Won’t be going back.
A friend and I went to Mexican Sugar for brunch and had a wonderful experience. The mango margaritas were fresh and not too sweet and both the benedictos and chilaquiles were flavorful and served at the right temperature. The staff is always very friendly and willing to give advice where asked. The decor is also warm and well appointed.
Nice atmosphere, however we felt the food was bland and overpriced. The Barbacoa's were juicy, but watered down, lacking any true brisket taste, and had hint of weetness I didnt care for. The habanero chicken tacos were lacking as well, in both heat and flavor. We won't be coming back anytime soon.
First time to dine there. Great place! The food was delicious. Service was very good. A little noisy but most popular spots are.
Really great experience for our first time dining at Mexican Sugar. Was quite loud, but partly dueI I think to being seated near the front of the restaurant across from the bar and some folks who had been enjoying happy hour for what was likely a few hours (our reservation was at 6:30). I think other tables further from the bar might offer a lower noise level but overall expect that this is not the restaurant of choice for an intimate evening. Great food though and service was very good as well. One of the few restaurants we've been to lately where we didn't feel like our food was being thrown at us as quickly as possible with the wait staff then staring at us as to whether we were finished and ready to make way for the next guests. Very enjoyable overall and will definitely be back.
Waitress ignored us for not ordering fast enough. We told her we were not in a hurry and she would check in occasionally but then she would t even heed our attempt to order. Food was below average. Won’t repeat.
