The avocado toast at brunch is beyond good. Service can sometimes be a little slow, but it doesn't bother us much. We'll be back this Sunday!
We were in town for a weekend get-a-way. Tried a few restaurants that were very good. Had breakfast/brunch here & it was very good. The service was excellent!
fun place with wonderful food and great service - we all enjoyed the evening
Went out for Mother's Day brunch and had a good time. While the pancakes for some members were not hot, staff was courteous and brought new ones. Overall, I would come back again - good portion sizes
I made a reservation for my best friend's bachelorette and I messed up the reservation time but they were awesome and called me and kept our table for us! It was great! Awesome service and wonderful atmosphere! The rooftop bar was amazing!
A neighborhood gem!. The food and chef are fabulous!
Food was good but it was so loud I couldn't have a conversation
Fun place with a fun vibe. Food was good - service was, too. The establishment needs to do a little housekeeping - the old radios and other, interesting decor were really dusty which is not what I want to see right next to my dining table / food. Great music selection while I was there - Stones, Who, Zeppelin, Bowie!
Great food! Good service. Cool ambiance. Our party of 6 enjoyed the spacious booth!
Food was great! Our waitress was not particularly attentive.
Loved our Sunday brunch. Everything was delicious and the French toast was beyond!! We all couldn't get enough of it.
Second time here for dinner ... especially like the pork sliders and brussel sprouts ... everything is good!! Very attentive waitress and good priced wine bottles.
Based on some of the reviews, we were hoping this was a foodie-ish destination with a hip vibe. Alas, it does not ring either of those bells. The food was just average. Overcooked salmon and fishy catfish... The service was decent but it was not very busy on a Thursday evening. The ambiance was uninspired and drab. That old stained gray carpet just has to go.... The wine list was pretty good though.
Delicious food! Vegan choices!
Overall good experience. More of a neighborhood feel for people who aren't interested in the touristy areas of Annapolis. Food was good, fresh, and interesting. The mac and cheese was very good, although they included bacon even though we asked for it without. My boys had the short ribs which were good and I had the rock fish which was also good. Our waitress was pleasant but the young kid who brought out our food out kept literally throwing the plates down on the table. We would go back again.
Went for an early dinner with some out of town friends. Had not been here before but thought the menu looked good with some vegetarian/gluten free options as our friends had some dietary restrictions. We sat on the lower level bar area. Food and service was great. Would definitely recommend the brussel sprouts and wood fired chick peas over hummus. It was pretty loud but we did not have to yell to hear each other talk. Would definitely go again.
I ordered a black bean burger. There was a large hair in it. They did replace the burger but then they gave me a salad instead of fries. They also have my boyfriend the wrong omelet. Yes they replaced everything but for all.ofthe trouble I would have expected to be comped for something. The food was ok.
Metropolitan is a great option for casual date night. We sat in the bar, shared a few small plates and ordered a few drinks. It was one of the best dirty martinis I've had in a while!
My favorite dishes were the sliders, and the rosemary flatbread. Service was prompt and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back. If you're looking for something a little more quiet, ask for a seat in the back :)
Natalie the server was fantastic! She was busy! Great value, not great quality on several meals and the bloody Mary's were watery. The four hostesses huddled together and did not go out of their way to greet, welcome, etc. you get the sense that no one was in charge. The young hostesses needed some coaching.
Again, Natalie the server was fantastic, food, not so much. Great for the milenials!
We frequent The Metropolitan almost weekly and always have an excellent meal with great service.
SAVED by the manager, our group may have received the worst service in my 30+ years of adult dining. Rather than mention what went wrong, our table literally spent time trying to think of what she did right. And we came up w/ zero. No attention, no skill, and absolutely no caring. But... toward the end the Manager came in to try to save the day. He was very honest, and I felt was genuinely sorry for our experience which it appeared was taking place at other tables as well. I have NEVER written such a thing, but if that server is still employed at the restaurant, she must have photos of someone. Food was very good, atmosphere was lively, but service from our waitress... embarrassingly deplorable. Thank you to the manager, who prevented this restaurant from being crossed off the list permanently.
Great food, very fresh! A little crowded for our big group, but it worked. Service was top notch!
Reasonably priced and very tasty. We did three dishes and they were all very fresh and flavorful. I will be back
The food here is always delicious. The service is great for brunch and a casual afternoon.
Very good experience. Service was good although the waitress did not expand very much on the menu when we asked for recommendations. Everything we ordered was very well prepared. I would recommend the Metropolitan Kitchen.
I truly enjoyed the forbidden fruit mixed drink. The sliders and crab dip were very tasty and big enough to share. The servers were friendly and accommodating.
The food was fantastic; the meat was perfectly cooked, tender, vegetables were good and the gouda mash was "to die for!"
Excellent happy hour! Friendly service and delicious food!
They were very busy but the food was delicious! The manager was very concerned about our experience and bought us a shot when we finished our meals.
Food and service is consistently excellent. Rockfish lettuce wraps and golden Brussels are the best!
Great food and service. A hidden treasure in Annapolis.
Return customer enjoying restaurant week. Definitely recommend eating here!
I was very pleasantly surprised by this nice restaurant. I wanted to try a new restaurant in Annapolis for Restaurant Week and chose Metropolitan Kitchen on the recommendation of friends. I was unable to find a babysitter, so I planned to bring my 3-year-old and all of his distraction devices and hope to be able to find him something on the regular menu. To my great delight, the restaurant had a kid's menu and put us in a quiet space in the corner of the back room instead of up in the slightly more raucous bar area. My husband and I greatly enjoyed our appetizers, entrees, and desserts while my child was able to quietly play his game and color and eat his delicious chicken and fruit dinner. Thank you, Metropolitan, for giving us a great date night with child included.
I am following a vegan diet right now and this restaurant had fantastic veggies to fit what I can eat. My husband liked the short ribs.
Best burger I've had. Great vegan options as well. Highly recommend.
Metropolitan has it all - great food, friendly service, happy hour, live music, rooftop, small groups, large groups. The scallop appetizer and rockfish entrée were perfectly prepared and delicious. My customer had the short ribs and loved them. I don't live in the area, but I can't wait to go back. Nice bar and good wine selections, too.
Nice neighborhood restaurant in downtown Annapolis. Parking is tight but a garage is nearby. Food is innovative & very tasty! Prices are reasonable. Decor is casual & rustic. Live music on upper floor, if interested. Would definitely recommend!
They take the reservation but do not hold it. Food was delicious.
The food was simply delicious and the ambiance was young and stylish.
The food was good with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The music was at the bar, but still allowed a group of colleagues to talk in the next room. No one rushed us, and we were there for a long time. My bad mark for service was because, I clearly explained I was allergic to tomatoes, and when my quinoa came with tomatoes on it, I was very disappointed, but glad I saw them. Then it had to go back, and I had to wait, but at least I convinced my friends to go ahead and eat.
