Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We chose this restaurant because of its Saturday night availability and location for a group of 10 people to go after a Navy football game. We were very pleased with the menu selections and enjoyed a delicious meal - salads, flatbreads, chicken, salmon, burgers, creme brûlée - everything was amazing! And the service was outstanding! We highly recommend!
Note - There is a parking garage right behind the restaurant which makes parking easy.
Chill scene, great acoustic vibe, gourmet menu that did not disappoint, relaxing atmosphere that upscale minus the pretentious... Cajun chicken sandwich was the best sandwich I’ve ever had... wife had seared scallops that were cooked to perfection... you can’t go wrong!
Based on the reviews we opted to go to the Cafe and were quite glad we did. A very nice young bar scene of professional class in Annapolis. The quality of the food for a cafe Bistro was excellent. The drinks were very good as well as the service.
My father and I went there on a Thursday evening. The noise level in the back room was FAR too loud and people were having exceptionally loud conversations. Way past the conversational tone. Our server was a low voice person. With both of those issues combatting each other my father had to ask her to repeat herself several times. The food was great. The noise level took away from completely enjoying the meal.
The happy hour menu rocks! Flat bread pizzas were all great (we ordered 3 different ones and couldn't finish them all). Cucumber drink special was refreshing, but weak (switched to wine). Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, but not in our face all the time. We were dining at an earlier time for dinner, so we didn't see the live music or night crowd this time.
Best part was the rooftop bar setting, with comfy seating areas and excellent layout. We were close enough to the other patrons that we felt a part of the crowd, but not so close that conversations couldn't be kept private. Surprisingly, we couldn't even hear the street noise below! We are definitely going to be making Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge a weekly thing!
We are regulars at Metropolitan. We love it. Sunday was not good. Our server was so terrible. So terrible. She didn't bring us a high chair even when asked. She didn't know the menu at all. She brought us wrong things. She didn't even end up taking our order, someone else did. My Bloody Mary was terrible and they're normally super good. It was not a good experience. Super disappointed.
The service was warm and friendly and very accommodating, much more than most restaurants. Main reason I recommend this restaurant. The food was good, healthy, tasty. We ate from the brunch menu. As a vegetarian, I much prefer the dinner menu options, with more vegetables available. I'm not a fan of the piped in music, but that's ubiquitous now and at least it was a reasonable volume and we could hear each other talk.
Party of four for Sunday brunch. Food was very good. Only gripe was that our waiter was a little too busy to give us prompt service. We had to ask for drink re-fills and when we our second cups of coffee there was no re-fill of cream.
We made a reservation for 9:45am which wasn't necessary as we beat the rush.
