It was middle of the day on Saturday so not many patrons. Got there at the perfect time so we could order off the brunch menu at 3:25 or the dinner menu at 3:30.
So much is done well here. The wine list is great making it hard to pick a glass. The brussel sprouts are the best around. I really like the meatball dish too. Delicious! Very friendly, expedient staff too.
The food at Metro is consistent and very good as is the service. The noise level can be daunting unless you eat outside which is a very pleasant experience if the weather is warm.
This is our go-to place! EXCELLENT every time!!!
I was disappointed with my hamburger, I order it medium rare and it was cooked too well, I returned it and the second one was better.
The food is always delicious and healthy! The service In my experience has been good. The only negative not just at Metro but many restaurants here in the community is that it's very hard to hear especially for someone with hearing impairment.
First of all, I need to mention that we were the first customers to arrive there as the restaurant just opened its doors at 11 AM. So we were the only patrons there. So obviously it was quiet and we received very attentive service. We sat right next to the fireplace in the back room. It does look like it has a large bar area as well as another side room. That being said, my husband and I both ordered the spicy bloody Mary. These were excellent. The only things that I would want more in the drink would be olives and a pickled green bean reminiscent of the bloody Mary's in Louisiana. I ordered the spicy tuna poke and my husband ordered the chopped salad and creamy asparagus soup. I ordered avocados as well to be mixed in with the tuna poke. It was delicious. Surprisingly, it was filling as well despite thinking that it may not be enough. Husband said soup was flavorful and very creamy. He has never come across a chopped salad he didn't like.
I T WAS GREAT AS ALWAYS...WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME! FOOD WAS TERRIFIC!
We love it here. We love the outdoor seating and we love all the appetizers.
We make a dinner out of it.
Enjoyed lunch with friends. Excellent service. Gets a bit noisy in room with fireplace. Would certainly return.
We asked to be seated where we could have conversation so we were seated indoor next to the patio which proved too warm as the day was hot.
Food good, service OK.
Food was very mediocre. We all got something different and nothing was outstanding. Very pricey for what we got. Wine was the only thing good.
Went here for Mother's Day and had a great time. The service could have been more attentive, but the experience was overall great. It's one of the nicer restaurants in the area and very central.
I normally love to dine here......but never again on Mother's Day! It took an hour for our food to arrive, and it seemed as though it was waiter's first day on the job. When I asked to leave the toast off the eggs benedict due to gluten allergy he said " we are not allowed to ask for any modifications today as the kitchen is too busy". Really? Leave the toast off?? Knowing the increased crowd on such a day I would think better advance planning could have avoided this disaster!
I took my mother for Mother's Day. It was extremely busy and noisy. We got a table right away because of reservations. The server was very professional, however it took us about an hour to get our food. Once we recd it, it was extremely tasty.
Mother's day brunch - we waited for more than an hour for the meal tonarrived. The portions were very small and they didn't taste good. We
Complained with the manager and he didn't know how to react, changed our plates but never came back to check with us. We had to ask the waiter for bread, plates, water... etc.
Not a good experience
We were there on Mother's Day. The restaurant was so busy, with so many people standing around waiting to be seated. overall it was very loud and the kitchen was slow because of the crowd. The food, when it arrived, was tasty. I would try it again on a non-holiday occasion. The waiter was very, very pleasant and most attentive.
We went to Metro for our Mother's Day Brunch. The food was NOT good and we paid a lot for it. The eggs benedict was served on a piece of toast that could have been a hockey puck. The server was totally distracted by crowd and would forget items or walk away in the middle of a conversation with us. I think this place would do much better during a normal day, but it was not a great experience for Mother's Day.
Absolue failure on Mother's Day. 30 minutes to place our order. 45 minutes to get our food. Its cleat that this place is very poorly managed. They have WAY too many tables for their staff and kitchen to handle. Never returning.
Astonishingly bad. Poor, rude service from the moment we walked in.
This is the first bad review I've ever written. Wanted to walk out and will certainly never go back.
After being seated, it took quite a while for the waitress to come to our table but when she did, we ordered everything at the same time. It took them one hour to receive our drinks. Then it took another 15 minutes (total time 1 hr, 15 mins) to receive appetizer, then within 5 mins, we got our entrees. The waitress apologized numerous times and took the drinks off the bill, so that was appreciated. Food was good, but not a great experience. Too many other good restaurants to risk that happening again.
Host never looked up from his screen upon checking in, just said "name."
Caesar salad was your basic; packaged croutons.
Miso-Glazed Black Cod was severely under-seasoned, skin rubbery, not crispy and soba noodles greasy.
The Vanilla Gelato Profiteroles were rather pedestrian, however the Dark Chocolate Truffle Terrine was delicious.
Had not been to Metro Lafayette in many years and had always loved the food, especially the Black Cod. With so many restaurants in Lafayette, I will more than likely try some place new rather than return to Metro Lafayette.
Enjoyed the crab salad with grapefruit and greens - not your typical Louis. The Pot de Creme was spectacular.
One of my guests had the salmon hash which she enjoyed. The other guest and I had the Thai Curry salad - didn't taste much curry. Should I return to Metro I would not order this dish again - I have had much tastier versions, larger in size for less money at other restaurants. My guests' comments about the coffee - "this must be the end of the pot - it is strong!" Coffee grounds could be seen swimming in the cup. The coffee was untouched - our server did not inquire as to why. Actually the server rarely came our way, spending most of his time at tables in the patio. The service was so-so at best.
I asked for a quiet table so we could hear each other talk. Initially, our corner table was perfect. Then a party of four was seated right next to us, in spite of the fact that the room was empty except for our table - there were many tables further away without guests. After two rounds of drinks the four at the table next to us began talking and laughing loudly, making it difficult for us to hear each other.
This is a popular restaurant for many locals. I am sorry to say that I am not one of them.
We ordered ostyers on the half shell and the waiter forgot about it when serving our main dish.
This was my first time eating at this restaurant. The experience was enhanced by the fact that it was a warm day and we were able to dine on the patio, which is delightful. Also, a friend had recommended the crab salad and both I and another member of our party ordered it and were not disappointed! It is pricey, but light and lovely!
Meeting my adult children with new baby for brunch! Very accommodating for the stroller!
We visited Metro for an early evening meal on a Tuesday. There was a lot of space. We were able to sit in their very pleasant outside area. The service was as good and friendly as always. The food was also good, although I'm not sure how often (if at all) they change their menu. That's not necessarily a bad thing, of course.
Wonderful patio dining area, nice evening and quiet surroundings
This place has been consistently good since opening with a nice seasonal menu, good small plates (not tapas in the Spanish tradition, but good small plates), and great entrees. They changed the wine list recently and added a French Cotes du Rhone that went well with the pan-seared Sea Bass (with delicious fresh spinach and mashed potatoes). We aren't big dessert eaters, but found ourselves ordering - and LOVING - the Meyer Lemon Pudding Cake - light and creamy with organic blueberries - perfect for a summer night. The big draw here is the nice patio with trees and wall ivy, which is nice on a warm Lafayette evening.
