We spent a Valentines Day early evening at this delightful Spanish restaurant in Restaurant Row. Four tapas. A bottle of Marquez Aldeanueva rojias plus desert lasted comfortably through 2 hours of conversation.
Crab cakes with a roumillade sauce, olives, pulpo a la Galencia, and Queso Con Membrillo were all delightful.
Desert was Crema Catalans (described by the waiter as “Spanish cream brûlée”) was an unexpected pleasure, soft and very creamy with just the right touch of orange.
A great spot for dinner before Hamilton. Attentive service without being pushy or overbearing, paella hit the spot without being too heavy before the show.
We were there before the theater crowd with friends-the food was delicious and the service was excellent and friendly-fairly priced
The price fixe lunch is a great deal. The salad alone is big enough for a meal. The seafood paella and the shrimp in garlic sauce are delicious. The desserts are excellent too. We highly recommend this restaurant.
We went to Meson Sevilla for a pre-theater dinner on a Saturday night. We had all tapas - though many other tables seemed to be ordering the paella, which looked quite good. They do have a large selection of tapas, including most of the "classics" as well as some less typical choices. The food was tasty - certainly not the best tapas we've ever had, but also not the worst. Reasonable portion sizes for the price. The service was excellent and very fast - they definitely are experienced at getting you out to the theater on time. Overall, very enjoyable, reasonably priced, and quick. If you like Spanish food, a good choice for pre-theater on Restaurant Row.
The restaurant was accommodating to us as we arrived early. The food was great. It was a busy Saturday evening and we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you.
Seating was very prompt! I ordered a cocktail (a vodka Collins) and what I got was more of a bay breeze. I also got the pallea. The rice, vegetables, and chorizo were delicious, but the chicken and seafood tasted overcooked. It wasn’t a bad meal, but given all of the options in the area, I’m not sure I’d return.
Great good, excellent service.
Delicious as always.....and the service was impeccable. I brought a total of 11 guests (two separate reservations as some were last minute additions) and we were seated right near one another - and everyone was over the moon. Thank you!
Great little place. Was our first time there but definitely will return. Great paella and sangria.
It was my husband's Birthday, and we love visiting New York, so I searched a few spots online in on restaurant row and found this gem. The food was amazing, we went with the tapas menu, which allows you to try several dishes presented on small plates. We had the octopus, calamari, lamb chops, shrimp and potatoes. The sangria was amazing and they even sung happy Birthday to him with a small piece of Flan which was also amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.
perfect pre theatre place good variety of choices if you have people with varying preferences including vegetarians
Took my wife here for her birthday. We've been here before but it was always for drinks and tapas at the bar, never dinner. When I suggested it she said yes because we knew at least the tapas we're good so we expected dinner to be the same. Meson Sevilla lived up to our expectations; plates full of great food, a wait staff that makes sure you're glass is full and a relaxing atmosphere. Some reviews on other sites may say the interior is dated but I find it reminicent of old Madrid. Definitely will be back again
Lovely place to catch up with old friends!
Everyone is nice, as usual, and the food is always good. It’s a nice relaxed atmosphere. They do not rush you so you can really just relax. Always happy with our meals here!
We visited for lunch. The food and drinks were outstanding along with service.
Great food, good prices and excellent service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We enjoyed our meal at this restaurant very much. We were given a comfortable table in a corner for our party of 6. Ambience was fantastic, food was delicious, servings ample, service attentive. One server initially balked when we asked for take home boxes for the food left unconsumed, but he did bring them to us and my niece and her friend were quite delighted that they'd get to enjoy leftovers the next day. Overall a positive dining experience. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone- and we'd all dine there again.
The tapas was excellent and authentic and just like what we had in Spain. The sangria was delicious!
Staff very accommodating and food delicious.
Don’t order the paella. Not even the rice is of the right kind. The dish was bland and there was sand in one of the clams! The tapas were okay overall. Some were quite good. If you are looking for an authentic Spanish fare that is not the place.... on the plus side the service was prompt and attentive enough and the wine was quite affordable.
Meson Sevilla is a quaint old style Spanish restaurant with very good food, generous portions and good service. We enjoyed the experience.
Très bon repas et service top!
Excellent repas et service très bien
Very busy restaurant in the Theater District. The tables are a bit cramped, but in a cozy type way. The restaurant is small, but lively and if you are going before a show you need to make reservations. The service was fast and efficient. The menu has an excellent assortment of tapas and paella dishes to share, as well as other heartier entrees. The wine selection was slightly limited. It was an enjoyable evening and I would definitely go back.
I came here for the chicken villeroy or pollo villeroy. Excellent!
Nice comfortable place for lunch or dinner. The staff is wonderful and helpful. This time went for lunch and chose from the reasonably price fixed menu with a nice selection of choices and enjoyed the shrimp with green sauce.
Place was very crowded and uncomfortable to enjoy dinner . Food was ok , have had better tapas .
Food was a bit bland, tables too close. So many better choices on Restaurant Row
We love this place. We come here when we travel into the city to see a Broadway show. The sangria and paella are my absolute favorite. I can eat it every day for the rest of my life and be happy. My husband got the saffron lamp shank special and they brought him two giant lamb legs, marinated in this amazing sauce. It was delicious.
Excellent service- and quick! They know how to serve meals with people on a time crunch. Full restaurant at 600- all theatre goers- good food, good prices and good service!
We went for lunch on a rainy Monday and were the only ones dining there. The price fixe lunch is a great deal. Everyone enjoyed their food. Portions were big. The seafood paella was very good. We have been here for dinner too and we are always pleased with our dining experience. This restaurant is a good choice especially if going to the theater. We all traveled here just to have a pleasant lunch and get together without going to the theater.
We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The wine list is limited but very reasonably priced. Our server was attentive yet not at all pushy and made us feel as though we were welcome to stay all night. I ordered the paella valencia and was delighted with the chicken, sausage, and assorted seafood. although the clams were a bit tough. My friend ordered the vegetarian paella, even though she was afraid it would be boring, and we were impressed by the variety of vegetables that were included. Everything was clearly made fresh to order and our only wish was that the server had let us know that one paella was more than enough for two people to share. We could hardly finish half of our dishes and couldn't take the remainder with us. We would definiteley visit again.
Meson Sevilla was AMAZING! Even though they were clearly incredibly busy (we went right before a broadway show on a Sat night, rush time) we were in and out in 45-ish minutes and felt very attended to. Every single dish was amazing and authentic, and the employees were so friendly. Will definitely be going back!
We started with wine which was terrible, couldn’t drink it. It was small, cramped, not terribly inviting and had a funky smell. After the wine we cut our losses and left. We had no stomach for a crappy meal and the initial impression had already ruined the experience. They didn’t even offer a reduced price on the wine because it was undrinkable. Plenty of other good to great Resturants in the area, don’t waste your time with this one
Most of the tapas were heavy and not especially flavorful. Heavy sauces on many dishes. The meat was tough and not seasoned well. Vegetables were overcooked an bland. Service was erratic. A mediocre experience.
3 of us had drinks and tapas and wonderful time at the bar. Tasty food and great service!
They were very accommodating and the food was really good. A comfortable restaurant with a great track record
What great Spanish tapas. I thought the menu could be a little more extensive, but it is a small place. Definitely recommend !
Food was pretty good, but not very sensitive to dietary restrictions. I called in advance, and was given different information than when I arrived. They were not very apologetic or accommodating about their screw up.
