Great service and food is consistently good.
Luis was our server and he was excellent with his mannerism and professionalism. The food was superb and the atmosphere was amazing. Well be returning again soon.
I've always loved this restaurant. It exudes Latin American class and there's no annoying mariachi background music. Excellent salsa, and the chips are the third best in Dallas. Desert menu is too limited (no Tres Leches cake or Helado), and when we were there, no guacamole. Tortillas are hand-made and the mole is the best I've tasted. Highly recommended!
We love all the Meso Maya locations but this one is by far our favorite. Drinks are typically great this time they were ok. Our one recommendation to anyone that ever asks is their Carne Asada the absolute best!!!!
The restaurant was very accomodating and friendly.
Mesomaya never disappoints! If you’re looking for fajitas or TexMex, this isn’t the place. But if you’re looking for amazing REAL Mexican flavors, this place nails it! The mole is amazing. The margaritas are badass. And the service is always top notch. Love this place.
We visited on Friday night. We ordered cocktails first which took 10 minutes to be served. When the server delivered our cocktails we ordered a queso poblano as an app then placed our main course order. My wife wanted Pazzoli as her main. We asked for some soft corn tortillas. We had to ask three times before we got them. During this time they tried to serve my wife’s soup three times. We asked if we get all our mains at the same time and after we finished our queso and tortillas. It was obvious that my dinner sat in the window. I had the Brisket Reno, the rice had soaked up the sauce the chili pepper was flat and soggy. No one ever came to check on us, probably could have sold more drinks to us FYI. I didn’t eat my dinner. We paid our tab, I thought at some point the server would notice I didn’t eat and ask if something was wrong, she never did. When I signed cc voucher I told her mine was awful. She said “I’ll tell the kitchen”. I interviewed with Mr Karns before the place opened, we taste tested Margaritas and various dishes, I didn’t get the job but I’ve always respected Mike because I saw his vision for Meso during that interview and Friday night was not it.
Delicious food and drinks and wonderful service.
I don’t know what happened. Maybe the pandemic really put a strain on the overhead and they had to make sacrifices. Either way I feel like everything has been taken down a notch. I’ve been to meso maya probably 30 times over the years. This one at least 10-15.
My wife and I love the budín azteca so we order it most times. The other day we had the chicken and it was unreasonably spicy. It’s not a spicy dish and never has been. The chicken was burnt and I got a few tendons in bites as well. The salsa for the chips was also overly spicy and had something in it that kept getting stuck in our teeth. Something not chewable with a string like consistency like maybe a part of the vegetable that wasn’t supposed to be in there? The ambiance was different. It was much brighter than it used to be and didn’t have the same “classy” feel. The bartender was not busy at all and wasn’t making any drinks. I watched him and it still took him around 10 min to start on ours. (It wasn’t super busy). Even the bathroom seemed like it got less attention than it used to.
Maybe everyone has become complacent? I get it’s less busy and I hate that for the restaurant industry. I want them to survive. But I still go to other Mexican food places and they haven’t changed the quality/service/vibe so I don’t get it here. If a manager asked how our visit was going, I probably would have told them. However, we generally don’t like to complain and it wasn’t bad enough to return the food. Everyone can have an off day and I hope that’s all it was here.
It was good. The waitress was awesome. And it was clean. I can not say the same about Mi Cocina
Birthday Brunch-great drinks, service fantastic and mostly the food is always spot on!!
I usually suggest and meet friends for lunch at Meso Maya. During this pandemic, Meso Maya is the restaurant I often suggest because the staff appears to follow all the safety guidelines. It's a popular place to meet for lunch or dinner where the staff is always friendly and courteous. We recently celebrated a birthday and everyone enjoyed their meal very much. Can't wait to come back again!
Always great food and friendly people. Brunch is the best!
Meso Maya always is a pleasure. They always greet me and thank us when we leave. Food is always top notch as is service. Your competitors always fall short.
Good food. We always enjoy eating there.
Cold food, slow service
Good experience but they need to turn the bright lights down. They hinder the atmosphere.
Ciro was our waiter and did an excellent job of welcoming and serving us. The meals here are always delicious! My favorite is the carne asada - such a lovely combination of tastes and textures. The Mesquite-smoked taste of the meat, combined with the tang of the arugula with dressing, the creamy black beans and the satisfying corn tamal are wonderful! I could eat this meal every single day! We always look forward to eating at this Meso Maya.
It was ok but not up to par. The quest was not melted nor hot. Dinner was good but not hot!!
We really are fond of these folks! We were glad to see them busier and lots of good food going out the door for takeout too!!
Extraordinary times! Their past history of excellence will keep us coming back!!!!!
Service was great, the food was delicious and the restaurant was quiet.
Everything was wonderful. Now they have a mariachi band and since we were celebrating a birthday they came by and sang happy birthday. What a great experience, Fernando was amazing as he kept up with food being delivered and checking up on us and other tables, as well as Gabby! Overall it was great and everyone was hard at work. Thank you!
The service was excellent, the food was great, I love the chicken soup. The music is a little loud, it could be Latin music but softer
Off lunch. Typically has been better. Never brought our guacamole appetizer. Service was ok and apologetic. Brisket Enchiladas were dry. Beans very good. Serrano enchiladas were just ok.
Great from start to finish
Everything was perfect. Very nice experience ! Can’t wait to come back !
I like this restaurant and go there often, never had any bad experience and this one time there was a minor issue that they were able to fix, the menu is outdated and one of the items I ordered had an item that was not served and when I asked for it I was told that was the previous version of the menu item, the waiter talked to the manager and they made it for me, and was told they will make sure the menu is updated to avoid future confusion.
Great staff. Great food. We always go back.
Decided to eat on a patio on the hottest day of the year. Fortunately the tables indoors were well separated and we felt very comfortable indoors! Great food and tasty margaritas.
Manager and food server were attentive to my customer needs. I will be back soon.
Meso Maya Preston Forest is consistently great. From the minute we walk in the door to the arrival of the meal to the goodbyes afterward, it’s pure joy. Fernando and his staff provide delicious food and wonderful service. My husband and I always look forward to date nights here. Five stars!
Server did a great job!
This was the best restaurant we have been to in a while. The food was amazing...best margaritas, and service impeccable. Will go back for sure and spread the word!
Our dining experience was pleasant as usual. The service was excellent as was the food!
We have been dining at Meso Maya for years. One of our favorite neighborhood places.
This visit was no exception. Despite the issues we are all dealing with we found the same welcoming friendly and grateful I might add faces at every turn!!
Very nice evening. Food and service were outstanding
Great food and service. Everyone wore masks properly. Felt safe in this pandemic.
We really needed a list of brunch options. Someone should type up a sheet of paper for the “Brunch Menu” showing only the currently available options.
Food was great and service was excellent. We'll be going back.
The service with fewer customers due to social distancing is very nice and prompt. The servers seem to have a little more time to spend on you... It was so good I find my self tipping over 20% because I know they were out of work for a while and things were tight. But, the level service also earns it as far as I'm concerned.
My reccommendations:
One of the best Frozen Margaritas in town.
Salmon de Coco is fabulous.
Carne Asada is great.
Customer Care was their utmost goal. I think they were so happy to be open and serve diners that it showed in how much they cared. The food was great, as always. I will continue to support this restaurant.
