Great food as always
Great place always go when I am in Dallas.
Place is always packed, worth the wait
Great food! It can get a bit loud for dinner so just keep that in mind, but perfect for a group to get together.
I'm a Executive Chef at different hotels Conventions and resorts on Dallas Forth worth area , I choose to dine in your restaurant because I know where can we get a nice and decent meal for my family and my self , I was really impressed with all your food , flavors and presentation , nice job, for sure we will come back for another beautiful experience.
Had a wonderful dinner on the patio this evening. The service was great and the food was delicious. Love that Meso Maya is consistently good!
Meso Mayo Downtown is a fantastic place to eat, especially out on the patio. The food and the service is top notch.
Tito was awesome. We had a great time. Food was delicious.
Perfect food and service! I had never been before my wife and I had a wonderful brunch. Will be back again!!
The brunch menu provided 4 outstanding meals. Fresh, inventive and absolutely delicious.
Our first visit. Made reservation before the opera. We were early, but were seated promptly. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. Must try: cafe de olla. Flavorful coffee (has cinnamon and chocolate) with cream and Mexican brown sugar on the side. A dessert in itself.
40th Wedding Anniversary Brunch. Service and food were amazing. Initially the beans I our dish were cold . Our waiter graciously took them back and the next thing we know the manager was t our table apologizing. Such attention to detail.
Great atmosphere, welcoming staff, DELICIOUS food. Traditional food creatively prepared, deliciously consumed. Really a great choice for Tex Mex that is more Mex than Tex.
Great night for casual fun team dinner!
Great and attentive service by all staff. Food was excellent but mine was not hot when I received it. Still tasty.
The restaurant didn't get the request for outside seating. Outside was not full yet could not go to the table we wanted to as were told 'sorry that table is reserved.' The waiter had to be repeatedly called to attend. Not the usual experience I had here on other occasions.
This was the worst restaurant experience we ever had. It started right at the beginning. We had booked a table and when we arrived on time the host lead us to a table only to recognize that it was occupied and then said we would have to wait 15 minutes. Luckily it wasn't that long - only 5 minutes. But then after we had been seated at a table we waited 15 minutes for the waitress to appear. We ordered an appetizer to share but didn't receive any additional plates. Even after asking for them it took quite a while (and multiple times asking) before we got them. By that point, we had already eaten most of the appetizer using our hands over the table, which was very messy, but we had no choice (cold melted cheese is unappetizing). For the entrees we asked for one to be made without cilantro. The waitress said that wouldn't be a problem. For another one we asked if that would be spicy and the waitress assured us that it wouldn't be spicy at all. Guess what ... for the first entree they left away the cilantro decoration but the beef in that entree was cooked with cilantro. And the second entree was really spicy - even somebody who liked spiciness agreed that it was spicy. So, the whole visit was a total disaster! Imagine if we had ordered the entree without cilantro because of an allergy and not only because we didn't like the taste of it! We would have been fine with the waitress saying that no, the entree could not be made without cilantro because the meat was cooked in it, but when she says that it's not a problem to make it without cilantro, and then we begin eating it, that's unacceptable. We could've then ordered something else. But for her to lie to us (twice!) was reprehensible, esp. considering that people can have serious cilantro food allergies. Entirely bad experience for us. Of course, we complained about all that right away and so at least we did not have to pay for it.
I am angry with Meso Maya. I received a note from Open Table saying that I had not showed up for my reservation. I was there two minutes before the reservation, I checked in at the receptionist/hostess desk, and gave them my name and reservation time. They said that my guests were there and they had seated them. 1) I had reservations on the patio and they seated my guests inside. The patio was NOT crowded at all. 2) They somehow led Open Table to believe that I didn't show up. 3) I sent them an email about their false and inaccurate report that I had not showed up and asked them to respond. They didn't bother to answer. Therefore, I am not a fan and am happy to tell everyone I know that their customer service is severely lacking.
We're from Chicago and make sure we visit Meso every time we're in town. We are very pleased with the quality and consistency of the food. We especially enjoy the chicharon en salsa verde from their appetizer offerings. Love it ! ! !
Excellent and very consistent food and service! Carne Asada is the best around.
Delicious food, excellent margaritas, and wonderful service from start to finish! We sat outside on the patio and it was delightful.
Very disappointed in hostess and restaurant . Acted like we didn’t have a reservation and made us sit in the very noisy bar with bar stools and very spotty service. Too bad because food is first rate.
We had a great time at this restaurant. It is hard to hear but very energetic. Great food at mid to high level pricing. Being downtown is fun! Funny that it is right next to an El Fenix!
Business trip by myself. Loved outside atmosphere and food. Service was great
Outstanding service with great recommendations on food and drink. Food got to us very quickly and was outstanding. Visitors from out of town commented on how much meat was in the enchiladas.
Great food and service. Ambience and patio were great.
it's not your everyday/typical Mexican food, reminds me of "Mercado" at Santa Monica. we went for lunch after visited Perot, perfect walking distance. food was great flavored, I would come back to try others on the menu if are back in Dallas area.
Extremely knowledgeable waiter. The hostess was very accommodating and professional. We look forward to our next trip to Dallas and a return visit to your restaurant to try another delicious selection from your menu!
Awesome food and great drinks
So the menu is great. It's close to the Winspear and I love that because I'm a theater junkie. The bar is wonderful. It was a bit loud, but I'm okay with that. My issue was with the valet service. First off, it's not fair to offer valet service when there's obviously no parking and you then put said valet service in a terrible traffic spot. It took me twenty minutes to first figure out most of the large parking lot had been cordoned off for "valet" service so you have to use it and then manage to turn around and make my way back to where I waited forever on a one lane street with through traffic for the one valet to take my car. Great food, good service inside the place but they need to figure out their parking.
Chose Meso Mayo based on OpenTable and Yelp reviews, and we were not disappointed! Had dinner before attending the Dallas Symphony, and it was marvelous. Don't be put off by any descriptions suggesting "spicy": it's quite mild, but very tasty. Sit outside if at all possible: the noise level inside precludes anything but shouting.
Booked a reservation online for 5:30 pm so we could make a 7:30 curtain for RIVERDANCE at the Winspear Opera House. Arrived on time and was behind a party of three who were told they would have to wait for a table. I stepped up, said I had a reservation, they checked their computer and immediately seated us at a table by a window. Our waiter was attentive and explained options on the menu. We both ordered their Budín Azteca; I, the chicken and my date, the beef. The beef was in a red sauce and the chicken has a green salsa verde. YUM! We both decided what we would order on our next visit to Meso Maya, which will most probably be within a month as we visit the Arts District frequently.
It seemed they were understaffed when we arrived. Difficult to get service. Food was very good. We were in a back area that was a bit quieter than the overall restaurant. Outdoor patio looked fun.
Great food, great service
This place never disappoints. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, the location is convenient. The prices are decent. I honestly think this is the best Mexican restaurant in Dallas.
When we arrived the hostess was busy prepping the front area, and did not listen to our request. We were seated, and our server Israel P. took our order. But Israel took the time to talk to us and listened. Adjustments were made and the family dining experience was elevated. Excellent job Israel!
Way too loud. Great service.
Everything our entire table ordered was fabulous. Still trying to recreate the wonderful quest they serve! Delicious !
Waiter was rushing us and we had placed 2 orders of something off the menu that never came and when we asked about it has waiting for 15-20 minutes his response was “Oh, they didn’t tell you we ran out?” I’m sorry, who is they? You are our waiter! Food was good.
Excellent food-the guacamole is amazing!! The salsa is delicious and you will want to try the cucumber margarita!
