Food is always delicious! Menu offers numerous choices.
My date and I chose this place and was glad we did. The atmosphere was pleasant, the food and service was great, and the parking was close. Some places in Dallas have horrible parking, this wasn't one.
Excellent food as usual. Service is exceptional. Only downside is very loud.
Meso Maya was good but not great. We had heard good things about the restaurant and wanted to try it. The food was good probably above average, but we felt very rushed. I also thought the food was not made to order as it came out so quickly and it was only warm and not hot. Would probably go back and take a more relaxed approach at dining here. Maybe not order our main course so quickly. I had the brisket enchiladas which were very tasty but I have had better enchilada sauce in Arizona and my husband had the mole poblano and he really liked it.
The entire experience from entry to exit was beyond excellent-great service, food, and ambience!
The food was amazing. I really enjoyed the lighting and the settings.
The restaurant was very nice, place was not hard to find, food was great.....
It was great. The service was fast and great, the food was exceptional. Definitely coming back.
Excellent, attentive service.
Salsa - nice & Smoky, Molé - chocolatey & slightly minty. Margarita was good & nice wine selection.
Best chocolate cake I've ever had in a restaurant!
The cucumber margaritas were refreshing. Tacos were good and so was the queso.
Meso Maya is convenient to downtown. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. It is appropriate for a group of friends or to bring co-workers or even a client.
Excellent food, cocktails and service. Best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. Carne Asada, Cochinita Pibil, Tamales and Flan were beyond amazing. The Serrano Berry Margarita and the Avacado Margarita were tasty and smooth. Our waiter was fabulous in making recommendations. Highly recommend.
This is a great change of pace from the run-of-the-mill Mexican food joint. Food is excellent and unique.
Had a party of 7 and the table they gave us was placed so where the crew had to walk right behind me and I was next to the wall. I got popped on the head with 2 elbows lol until I finally asked the rest of my group to help scoot the table further away from the wall. BEWARE THE ELBOWS.
Chicharron was the bomb.
Awesome, great food and service. Would go again!
The team at the Downtown location always do a fantastic job. The food is always tasty and consistent. The best house margarita for the money.
It was super nice.. but a bit crowded... out table was tiny even though it was just the two of us.
Tony was our server - very knowledgeable and attentive when it was needed and not intrusive. Food was great - cocktails outstanding - service fabulous. My only downside was we were there celebrating a birthday and they were notified in advance but our party of 6 seemed crowded into a corner without any room to spread out and have a little elbow room to open gifts etc. But otherwise was excellent.
This was our first time and the food and service were amazing!! Make a reservation - it is packed!!!
Friendly service and good food?
Father’s Day event and my dad loved it! This was his first time here and he said this will be his new place. He is also going to tell his neighbors and friends! He loved the food so much he even took my food to go so my moms could taste the Brisket Enchilada lol! Love this place
We chose this location for fathers day brunch, I had recently taken my husband to the new Fort Worth location and it ambiance was so much better in Fort Worth, and the food. I would recommend this location to stop by before a concert, but the Fort worth location for Brunch even the portions were WAY bigger there. We also did not have a nice table for making a reservation.
Delicious meal! Waitress Yazmin's recommendation of "Budin Azteca" was spot on. Two orders made, the shrimp "Camaron" was voted the best.
Restaurant was quite noisy, and our table position by the door to the patio was hit directly by the setting sun (no other tables to move to). They really need a sunshade of some sort for that door.
Overall an excellent find! Great food, just a (one) bad table.
So delicious definitely a great place to grab food.
Delish! And unique
Great food, never disappoints! Love the chocolate cake!
Enjoyable team dinner. Drinks were tasty, and food was good! Wide menu selections to accommodate vegetarians and picky eaters!
Excellent service, great food at reasonable prices, and wonderful experience. This restaurant continues to be one of my favorites here in Dallas!
Really enjoyed the Carne Asada....very good steak!!! excellent taste!! Tamal was wonderful with it. Also tried the chicken mole with plantains....ehhhh...mole was subtle, chicken was chicken..plantains were very good. Wish i had ordered the asada (my date did)....Server (Miguel) was super....like a character from central casting....nice crowd around us having a wonderful time...so did we.
It was wonderful!
Before Harry Styles concert.
Went for lunch midweek. Location was busy but food and service were great.
The food flavors are exceptional, but this visit, the enchiladas and carne asada was only warm, not hot. The lunch time noise is high, as in most restuarants, as everyone competes to be heard.
Chips and hot sauce form a first impression of a mexican restaurant and those were marginal at best. The chips were thick and rather bland, and the hot sauce had a smoky taste that was unique but not enjoyable. The enchiladas del Mar were pretty good, with ample shrimp and avocado, but the black beans and white rice were mediocre. The ambiance was nice, though a little loud, and there's a nice patio to sit outside, weather permitting. For the price, we expected better food.
Enjoyed margaritas and mexican food with my dad before he left out of town. Checked out this place and had a great avocado margarita and guac! Their "Mexican lasagna" with carne and potatoes was rich and flavorful. Chips were great with salsa!
We chose Meso Maya because it is close to the AAC. We made a 6:30pm reservation thinking this would give us plenty of time to get there for a 8:00 concert. The downtown location is very busy on a Friday evening, and I'm guessing this particular Friday evening was no exception which leads to my being flummoxed why the hostesses cannot manage the situation-it shouldn't be anything new. They were behind in seating which is ok, but when a hostess tells us someone else with a 6:30 reservation was seated before us because they checked in before us, it makes no sense that a couple with a 6:15 reservation who checked in AFTER us was seated first. The manager came over and apologized before we could finish explaining the situation (we had limited time), so he must be used to this, and doesn't fully listen. He did comp us an appetizer which was nice, but doesn't solve the hostess/seating problem.
The moral of the story: the food is ok, and there is is lots of it, but don't make plans to go if you are in a hurry.
Had to wait over 30 minutes for our table after arriving at the time of our reservation. No apologies from staff. This has happened in the past when I’ve had a reservation as well. Once we were seated service was prompt.
