Tasty food and amazing service by Florencia. Will come back during dinner time for a future date.
Absolutely delicious! Best authentic Mexican food ever! Nice upscale atmosphere!
We waited 1.5 hours WITH a reservation. And when we were finally being seated they tried to seat us at an upstairs bar. We refused and lo and behold had to go back downstairs to wait again. During this time we saw multiple (almost every person who came after us) be seated before us. In the 1.5 hours of standing we talked to other people and knew for sure they did not have a reservation. We were a party of 2 so not hard to accommodate. The girls at the hostess stand were horrible. We hoped the wait would lead us to spectacular food. While my mango sangarita was good, the food was mediocre at best. There are so many other wonderful places to dine in Dallas. Please do not waste your time or money on this establishment.
Super busy night and the management and staff did a great job in a tough situation. Service was good, food arrived hot, drinks were super. I have been here many times and the restaurant and staff are very consistent.
Amazing food, amazing staff. It's become our go to any time we go to Dallas.
Loud beyond acceptable!
Really good Mexican inspired food. Not something you typically have at a Mexican establishment. If there is an event at AAC, make reservations and plan on a noisy dining experience.
The food was absolutely terrible. Nothing tasted fresh. I paid well and tipped well but I won't return, nor refer anyone there.
Amazing! Great service and amazing food. A little loud but worth it.
Great food, great drinks. We had the chicharones as an appetizer and it was amazing. Finally tried the pork chop and it was very tender and juicy
We had a wonderful meal at Meso Maya. I had a reservation for a party of 5 for a Monday night. We were immediately seated when we arrived. During our stay in Dallas, we had no better service than from our server Alex and the staff. He gave us recommendations for guacamole, drinks, entrees and corn ice cream. He was not wrong! We had a great time, good service and delicious food.
Meso Maya has become one of my favorite restaurants. The courtyard is beautiful on a nice day and both the food and the service are top notch!
Food was great...service was ok at first then the waiter started cleaning the table halfway through our meal. It was obvious he wanted us to finish & leave so he could get another party at that table.
Busy time of day. Not sure I got a good "taste" of their true value. Will go again, but only once more if it doesn't deliver as advertised.
pozole is the best in town!!
Only thing better than the food was the service. The staff was always checking to make sure our needs were met.
We drove to Dallas for the Tom Segura show at the Majestic. We needed a place to eat that was close to the venue and decided to Mesa. It was fantastic! The staff was fun, accommodating and quick to make sure we got to try the items we wanted. We cannot wait to go again!
Our son recommended and we had great experience
What a gem! Highly recommend to my friends before the symphony.
Food was delicious and our waitress was excellent!
We love coming here. The food is so savory. We order different things each time because we love trying the sauces to different menu items. I’ve had the budin, enchiladas de brisket and Serrano enchiladas. The sauces are just spectacular! I wish I could emulate them at home! The service is just as amazing. Thank you for always providing us with a great experience!
We went there prior to Social Science at the Perot. Because there was a Mavs game that evening, the place was packed. This is typical for a pre-event at AAC, the Perot or any event downtown. Make a reservation or your wait time could be an hour (or more). Good margaritas. Wonderful service.
Meso Maya is consistent with the food, drink and fun! Always a great experience
Great food, but hard to talk because it's loud. If it's a business lunch you might want to seek out a quiet spot.
Meso Maya doesn't disappoint. Our service was excellent; drinks made from scratch, food is wonderful. I took a group from my office and many were from out of town. They loved it and were very impressed. All of his recommendations were delicious! Their margaritas are worth the calories!
Great food. Super fast service. Great lunch spot.
We booked this only based on reviews we found online and the reviews are right - great place, food was amazing, service was top notch and would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Dallas. Not the typical Mexican food that every Mexican place serves - it’s authentic and so much better.
It was pretty loud, though, and quite warm inside but still a great experience
The front of the restaurant was a bit more dimly lit for those who want an intimate dining experience. However, I went with a large group to celebrate my dad's birthday party, so they sat us in a large area in the back that was more well lit. We tried the queso fundido, queso poblano, and chicharron appetizers. The queso fundido with chorizo was by far the table's favorite! The queso poblano was more like a "queso dip" you'd find at an average Tex-Mex restaurant, so I wouldn't waste my money on that. I thought the chicharron appetizer was going to have chunky pieces of pork skin, but instead they were more like flakes. They were all served with handmade tortillas which were really good.
In regards to entrees, the Budin Azteca Pollo was the most popular dish which had a good green sauce, but let me warn you it wasn't spicy. The best dish was the carne asada hands down, as it was very juicy, tender, and flavorful. The mole enchiladas were also really good, much better than the mole entree actually. Overall, we had great attentive service and I enjoyed the concept of an authentic chef inspired Mexican restaurant.
Great place for some delicious Mexican food! Will visit again for sure!
We enjoyed the pork chop, which the server said was award winning. I could tell that it had been brined! They had a good tequila section and made me a smoky and spicy mezcal drink. Great for going to catch a show nearby.
Great ambiance, good food,,service.Noisey inside but wonderful outside.Would definitely recommend to friends.
Went to Meso Maya before a Dallas Stars game. It was the BEST Mexican food we've had in the DFW area. It is NOT Tex-Mex. The Serrano Enchiladas were FANTASTIC. The Cochinita Pibil was incredible as well! The service was great too! We will be making this our go-to place to eat before all events downtown!
New Years Eve
Went there for NYE. Had early reservations and having seen several good reviews, I was expecting something special. Queso fundido wtih chorizo was very good. But my brisket tacos were cold. I tried to order them flour tortillas instead of corn was told no. I'm thinking they were pre-made for the NYE rush and that's why I couldn't sub. I feel like this place is probably pretty good just not on a "holidays" when they are expecting a big rush.
I fell in love with the place after finding it by"accident" last summer. They have been consistent across the board. A restaurant critic would be off the wall to give an unfavorable rating. The drinks alone are worth being seated.
Called and increased our reservation to 6. Guy on the phone never made the change. Ordered De Mar enchiladas. Green sauce was sour and tasted bad. Told server and she said “ok”.
Excellent food, service... good, not great. Very loud
We read so many great reviews of Meso Maya and wanted to make sure we fit it in during our short stay in Dallas. Fortunately, we were able to have dinner there on our last night in town and had a wonderful time! The menu had a number of tempting options so we ended up sharing a number of them, all fantastic. Also, the chips and margaritas were very tasty! We would definitely recommend Meso Maya.
