Mesh Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This was our first visit to Mesh. We enjoyed everything we ordered. From the cheese board to the salad/soup through the entrees. Unfortunately, we did not have room for dessert. We will be back, so next time I will be saving room for dessert. Very well prepared dishes with flavors that meshed together perfectly.
There is nothing for which I would recommend Mesh. Our dining experience on Dec 3 was fair to poor. We found the menu options overpriced, the food just average and the restaurant extremely noisy. The restaurant has gone completely downhill since the Scholar's Inn days and we have no plans to return.
Overall the dining experience was awesome .. great service and great food. The music was super loud and the speaker was right over our table of 8 but our server was kind enough to ask for it to be turned down and they did .. made for a much more enjoyable dining experience as we wanted to visit with our friends.
We went out for our 16 yr wedding anniversary with some friends. Everything was great except we had to send my wife’s steak back twice and it still was not right. We where comped for her meal and desert, and everyone was very sorry but the experience was not a good one.
I was disappointed with what I ordered.. It was the mushroom strudel.. it lacked a stronger flavor it was stuffed with mushrooms and bread cubes but not much more flavor? the asparagus and sauce it was in was wonderful and the first mushroom croquette was great the second one was cold? My friend order the gyro and was dissapointed too. It did not have much flavor in the meat . Nothing special??
My adult daughter wanted to have her Mother/Daughter weekend Birthday dinner there and do when I made the reservations two months in advance I asked for a quiet table and explained the special occasion. We even changed our reservation the day of for a later date so we could shop longer and were still seated at a quiet booth that was PERFECT! This is the one time of the year when WE take the time sans husbands AND her children to have GIRL TIME and Mesh was AMAZING- from the seat location, EMMA as our server, cocktails, dinner AND the BEST Bread pudding EVER. And I mean EVER! The WHOLE EXPERIENCE was just EVERYTHING we could have hoped for. The ENTIRE staff is just the BEST! Thank you ALL! We had a VERY MEMORABLE Birthday Celebration! Priceless for MOTHERS to have such special times!
first time dining at the mesh. Came from out of town. Presented with brunch menu only-
but nice selections. Ate in the bar area- a little loud, but it was football Sunday. Overall, very nice. Good service, good food, decent value. Will go back and would recommend to others.
We were a bit early for our reservation, sat in the bar for a little while, my friend left her purse hanging on the under bar hook. A server spotted it within a few seconds and gave it to the hostess. Then after we were seated and discussed with our server that my husband was a Marine that had served in the late 60's, she immediately said thank you and offered the Cunningham thank you entree! Our steaks were perfect, the Sea Bass and salmon were marvelous! Our server was very well trained & personable, just happy to be there. We had a delightful visit with our friends from Memphis, TN. They too loved Mesh, the folks there and the dear young man at the next table who also thanked our men for their service as he and his wife left. Later we were told he'd paid for our drinks. All in all a delightful evening!
We'd eaten at Mesh for brunch in the past but this was our first time for dinner. The menu offered a nice variety and we will go back to try other options. It is casual enough to be comfortable but appropriate to dress for a nice date also. Within walking of several pre- or post-dinner spots if the weather is good. A good option when you're on Mass Ave.
This was our return visit from a year ago. Prices were the same but the food was not as enjoyable. We had the pork chops both times, but the rub and sides lacked any significant flavor this time. The chop was also boarderline well done. The New York strip looked better but was done medium vs medium rare. The filet was rare (warm at best) but ordered medium rare. We were really looking forward to our dinner so this outcome was unfortunate
Considering the reviews, I wasn't really impressed with the food or the service.
The hostess was sweet and gave me a really lovely table by the window and wished me a happy birthday. I ordered my appetizer and entree and read as I was by myself. When my entree arrived, it was cold. I asked the waiter if he could just reheat it, which the kitchen staff did, but the waiter seemed to be a little dismissive after that. The appetizer was creative and tasty, the entree was not, but the cheesecake was good.
If I lived in the area, I might try it again as perhaps it was just an off night, but I would not recommend this place to someone.
I hosted five colleagues for an annual planning meeting, and found Mesh to be quiet enough to brainstorm and converse. We did have to go to the hostess after being seated for 20 minutes without service being offered. Once our wait staff was alerted, they were on it, and continued to serve us throughout our lengthy (5 hour) meeting. Overall, nice experience and large portions of really good food.
