Love love love
The restaurant overbooked the evening. Our reservations were for 8:00 pm and we were seated at 9:30. After we were seated we had to keep asking for the waiter and the meal. Our water glasses were never refilled. After waiting all that time, two of the entrees were incorrect. We finished dinner at 11:30’pm. We will not go back! It is a shame because the food is good.
We did Miami spice. We enjoyed it. Food was great. And the cocktails amazing.
Very impressed with the Miami Spice menu and portions. I haven't had delicious ceviche in a while. The flan was scrumptious, and i'm a very picky flan critic. I will be coming back to try the full menu.
Great service, great food the place was clean and the servers was amazing
Very g good food & value. Some very loud people were sitting in the same room & made the experience not so good. Will ask for quiet table next time. Will return!
We went for the Miami spice lunch. We got the calamari and ceviche for an app then the cesar salad was included. The apps were delicious. Seemed like a small portion at first but by the end of meal we were stuffed. For an entree, we got the fried rice and grilled corvina. Both entrees were good but not the best fries rice or grilled corvina we ever had. Then we got the flan for dessert and that was delicious. A perfect ending to a great overall lunch.
Disappointing Miami Spice experience. Our table of 8 was squeezed into a small corner table. Our prix fixe food took a long time and was in tiny portions. We were not given the sides promised. Food took a while but the server tried to make up for it with some extra appetizers to hold us over. The food was underwhelming in quality. I would consider coming back and ordering from the normal menu.
The place was tight - many tables, can over hear everyone’s conversation, but it was an active crowd. Main dish (paella, seafood) was plentiful. The cesar salad - common. Nothing out of this world. Best cesar salad I’ve ever had, was in Sanibel (Jac’s). Wine selection good.
Despite the fact that I made a reservation several days in advance, we were seated in a room without windows in the back where we felt enclosed and neglected. The service left a lot to be desired, a tuna tartar appetizer arrived when we had already started the main dishes. The whole fish was good but nothing else we ordered was special.
there was a 20 person private party in the dining room that made it almost impossible for my wife and I to talk to each other. I expect some noise in a restaurant but this was unbelievable. Our server did the best he could to hear and serve us
It was very busy and I felt kind of disorganized they keep bringing the orders to the wrong table. Food was good and the ambiance was ok
Everything was perfect!
Miami Spice was great !!!! Great deal and good service ! Can’t beat the $39.00 deal
The restaurant was recommended by our hotel so we went there. The service was awful but they were having a big party in the next room so maybe that was the cause. Because of the party playing music it was extremely noisy.
Our food was barely edible. We weren’t told there was a specialty of the restaurant by our waitress so we didn’t know to order it, but everyone that got the snapper looked very happy! So I would stick to that. Lobster was like rubber and had no flavor at all. I got it without garlic butter but I always get lobster without butter. The lobster itself should be sweet and tender. Mine was flavorless and like rubber.
My husband had the rock shrimp and they were mushy and oversauced. We would never go back there again as there are so many other restaurants in the same area that are amazing
Based on the excellent Miami Spice menu, we will go back to sample the a la carte menu.
VERY LOUD!!! Service excellent, but food was just good.
Miami Spice, delicious!!!!
First visit to MesaMar and it was great. The staff was attentive, service was excellent and food was delicious. With a great presentation of the grilled snapper off the bone.
Great experience and a dining pleasure.
Went here for Miami Spice and it was absolutely delicious. Really cool vibe in the restaraunt as well. I would definately return.
The food was well seasoned the fish I had was a little dry and I asked for it medium as it was salmon. The service was extremely slow. We had to chase our waiter down he was overwhelmed as the staffing was not correct HE wasn't bad he was over worked...I would give it another chance with the hopes of better staffing.
Beautiful and well located restaurant. The service was excellent and the food delicious. The interior decoration is elegant and a soft background music creates a delightful environment for a nice meal.
One of Coral Gables best restaurants, excellent food, service and ambiance.
Amazing food. Went for Miami Spice and it was fantastic. Great service.
Outstanding food and service. And the Miami Spice menu is fantastic
Felt very rushed
Es uno de mis restaurantes preferido. Pescado y Mariscos frescos. Y muy buena atención. Y un bar muy amplio en la selección de bebidas. Y la atención personalizada de Fifi su chef y una de las dueñas hace que todo salga perfecto.
Beautiful restaurant. We did the Miami Spice menu - first course sashimi was outstanding. Second course Caesar salad was the smallest portion I have ever seen, but the taste was fine. For third course I ordered the grilled snapper - it was very fishy tasting and I barely ate it. Dessert mousse was delicious.
I had very little appetite, so I ordered two appetizers. A salad and a filet mignon skewer. Bread came to the table, as well as a salad....no mention ever made to me that a salad was already coming. I ate the table salad and sent back the ordered one as now I had too much food. Other person had seafood paella and enjoyed.
Then we went to the bar to finish our lovely bottle of wine, and decided to order a lychee martini...this was fantastic!
Overall, I’ve certainly had better food and communication with my server, but all was good. I would recommend this place.
Our table was not set properly and the table cloth had wine stains, we had to ask for silverware and napkins when the bread was served. There was a couple of tables with large groups of people who were very loud.
Not only the BEST !!!!! seafood in Miami, but also the best Tomahawk steak
Amazing food and friendly/attentive servers
It was my first time attending MesaMar with my friends for one of my friend birthday on Saturday, August 3rd. The restaurant is cute and nice. When we arrived they seated us immediately, however we waited almost 20 minutes for a waiter then noticed that no waiter was coming so we had to request one. Not a great start. Then we start to order our appetizer which were great, we then moved on to order our main dish to find out the dish that we went for was " sold out". How do you sell out of a dish that is on a specific menu. Again not off to a great start. So they provided us with an alternative dish for the Lobster Raviolis that they were "Out of". The alternative dish was good, but not what we wanted. Overall, I wasn't pleased with the restaurant. The waiter was a bit harsh in the beginning, but after a bit lighten up. Not sure if i would recommend this restaurant due to my experience.
Miami spice menu worth the trip! Ceviche excellent n fish fresh
The restaurant is very elegant, yet friendly. The food was outstanding. The Hog Fish was amazing and they offered it for just $10.00 more for me to add to the Miami Spice Menu. It came as the full fish on my plate with the fillets already carved out so i didn't have to wrestle with the fish. The presentation was fabulous, yet functional and easy for me to eat. The Paella mu husband ordered was filled with fresh seafood and the scallops appetizer was delicious. Great sauce. They included a a small Cesar salad with the Miami Spice menu--a value as it was the 4th course. Yet, they should have left off as it was the most disappointing dish we had. Small white dishes that had obviously been mass produced and refrigerated. it was too cold to taste good.
The service was the best. The food was good but my husband's steak was tasteless
We enjoyed the setting and the food very much at MesaMar. We were offered both menus -- the regular one and the Miami Spice fixed menu. Both looked great, but we ordered from the regular one and all were pleased. Started with the excellent fried calamari and the shrimp ceviche, then on to various other dishes that were uniformly great. Our waiter was appropriately attentive without being overwhelming -- he appeared when we needed him and met all of our needs right away, even though it was a very busy night and Miami Spice was putting additional demands on him and on the restaurant. Highly recommended! We will be back.
Honestly, Mesamar was outstanding. Great food, great service, and a beautiful thoughtful decor to match. It felt like I had traveled abroad. I loved everything from the complimentRy bread to the dessert. I was fortunate to try their Miami spice menu, which allowed me to try several things without incurring it’s regular price. However, all the food would have been worth it. No doubt! I plan on becoming a regular at MesaMar. I loved it.
Great food and service was top notch. The wait staff was knowledgeable and very attentive.
