Mesa Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Our party of 4 met prior to going to Segerstrom. Other restaurants were not available and Mesa popped up, none of us had been there before. My daughter is very much the food and trendy restaurants snob gave Mesa a glowing review. The food was delicious the Service was good, Nico, our server was gracious and attentive. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Took my boyfriend here to hear the music...He loves JP Orchestra and they did not disappoint!! They were amazing! The food was delicious..the chef kindly came to our table to offer suggestions...We sat by the fireplace...Very romantic evening...love the staff here as well!
Mac and cheese cauliflower was cooked so much you needed a spoon... it was almost soup!
I settled for the scallops because they were out of the handmade pasta and daily soup (tried ordering these, but was informed that these items were unavailable).
The scallops were prepared well and the presentation was good, but there was not enough butternut squash purée to balance the salty collard greens and the sweet wine reduction.
I used to frequent here, but it’s been some time since my last visit. I think the food quality has gone downhill. I don’t plan to return.
I did enjoy the live music they had on a Wednesday night!
Made reservations for date night with my wife/my birthday. We ordered drinks, then 20 min after being sat, were asked to move. Reason given, “for another party”. The table wasn’t filled until about 10 min before we were done with dinner. Our original seats were empty for over an hour. Disappointed given the money we spent on dinner, appetizers, and drinks
Had a great time and delicious food/drinks u rol a part of the wait staff told us we had to leave since there is a 2 hr reservation maximum . Mgr quickly came over and apologized for the delivery and went out of his way to make sure we had a great rest of the night. Customer service at its finest. Will definately recommend and go back.
Perfect for young (30s) friends’ get together. DJ playing after 9:30pm. However I had to leave my table within a 10 minute notice because after 10pm the “owners” of that space would arrive. Basically, after 10pm it’s a club and you have to be standing up by the bar. So if that’s what you’re looking for, go for it. Mesa is a fun music lounge, not a restaurant. Not family friendly. Good for club type birthdays. Food is okay. Drinks are good!
I love Mesa! They have the best Lychee Martinis! I came here for dinner and they had
Live music and delicious food. For my entry
I had the steak. It was perfectly peppered and it came with purree potatoes and a tasty Spinach, bacon and pine nut salad. I highly recommend it!
We went for a 6:00 dinner. The food was amazing, especially the cauliflower and cheese side dish! The restaurant took on a new personality by the end of our dinner. It turned into "the place to be" for the 21-35 crowd. So, at 55, I was feeling pretty old. My daughter would love it though!
We were told at least 3 times our reservation was a 2-hour window, which started hospitality out very low. Our server did not ask if we wanted another round of drinks, seemed perturbed at our orders, and was generally awkward and unfriendly. Definitely a hip place and easy to feel out of place and unwelcome. If you're looking for a warm, friendly place with attentive service, this is not for you.
Shoe String Fries- 10!
Drinks were quite good- Kind of a spicy version of a Moscow Mule I've never had and really liked!
Noisy. Not really great for quiet conversation.
Ambiance is quite nice and a bit trendy/exotic.
Bar is massive.
We ate here prior to a show at the Observatory.
Great find. All staff super professional and friendly from the moment you walked in. They greeted you and made you feel welcomed. The atmosphere was very stylish and hip. Food was excellent. Great vegetarian options or for non vegetarian. Definitely going back!
The service was kind of inattentive. We were sent the wrong drink and waited for a long time before someone came by. We were charged for both the wrong drink and the replacement drink. We also wanted to order another small plate, and couldn't find our server; she rarely came by.
There was a 20 year high school reunion in the lounge area so it was too crowded and noisy.
The food and drinks were very good, but the food was a tad too salty.
Need to start with parking it is a nightmare on the best days.
The happy hour appetizers are a good value and the wine we picked worked well.
The other food is expensive, but you are not paying for the food, you are paying for the atmosphere and trendy decor.
after having a few appetizers, couple of rounds of drinks/cocktails, then dinner, we were told by the front desk staff that we’d need to leave within 15 minutes after being there for an hour and 45 minutes (time was around 8:30 on a Wednesday). We were told that reservations are booked in two hour increments which MAY have been understandable if there weren’t other tables (several) visibly available and if there were actual guests waiting, which there were not. We hung out for another 15 minutes outside and nobody arrived. Oddest experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant and never experienced that anywhere before, especially at a nicer establishment where we dropped well over $200. Was embarrassing as well since we were entertaining an out of town work consultant.
I really like the atmosphere, the decorations, how it's wide open and good music!!! Also very good service!!!!! It's the best of the night! The guys keep refilling our water and cleaning our table. Our waitress is nice and fast too! The food are good, it goes with the atmosphere and brownie a la mode is so delicious! I would definitely come back! The only thing I don't like is that it only allow up to party of 5 to dine in, wish there could be more then 5. Need to change that in the future 😊
I had the best experience here for my birthday. It was my first time at Mesa and it exceeded by expectations! I enjoyed the complimentary champagne for my guests and I as I walked in and the complimentary shot for my table. It was delicious. Definitely one for the books! Thanks Mesa!
We went to celebrate my girlfriend 40 th birthday. The food is good, though it's small portions. Drinks are delicious! It's august , the weather is hot outside and inside the restaurant it was hotter due to humidity trap inside the restaurant. If they turn on the a/c or open the rooftop we wouldn't be melting our makeup off .overall it is good
Thank you Twany for making sure everything's perfect for my big milestone birthday celebration. The backend private booth was perfect for the occasion. Love love the panna cotta dessert and comp bottle of Cava.
Best venue in Socal for any occasion and highly recommend!
When we got there they said we had a two hour limit to dine but it took the server 30 minutes to get our drinks and then she got a few of them wrong. When we ordered our wine with dinner we ordered a Cabernet and she brought us a Pinot noir..... dinner was so so because my fish was coooked to death. Anyway, won't come back for sure.
Horrible and expensive food, worst old fashioned I have ever had (but to be fair, they took it back and switched it for a Jameson on the rocks when I complained), awesome atmosphere, super cute and trendy - would recommend for drinks and hanging out, but not for dinner or any meal
I can not say enough great things about Mesa! Everything from the food to the decor was incredible and my friends and I were totally blown away by the service. We were celebrating my friend's birthday which had been earlier in the week and the staff made it such a fun celebration! They surprised us with champagne waiting for us at the table when we were first seated, mystery "birthday" shots, and even sparklers on our dessert. It is the perfect place for Orange County's young and hip crowd and we all agreed that it is going to be our new spot. It was definitely worth the 30 minute drive!
This was our first time at Mesa. Of our table of 6 2 were 90 minutes late so we feasted on the appetizers. The best were the mussels. We must have had 8 people serving our table. They were all terrific especially our main waitress. We were there on a busy Friday night where there is a two hour limit on the tables. Because of our late guests they graciously allowed us to stay the rest of the night. We would have lingered at the bar when the music started but it was hip hop--not my favorite
The Old fashioned was incredible! The ambience was really nice and cozy. We were happy it was 21+ and could relax and enjoy our date night. The servers were extremely friendly and attentive. The meat and cheese platter was perfect to start off with and should've been our whole meal but we ordered more!
We were first seated in front of the yucca tree, which seemed odd for a date/reservation. But they accommodated us to move to a booth, after 5 minutes. We just had to vacate by 8:30pm before the next reservation arrived. Our reservation was at 7pm. The food was excellent, and they had my fave wine (Malbec) by the glass.
We cleaned our plates. I ordered special Swordfish, my date the mussels, and we shared cauliflower mac n cheese. Everything was superb for our Friday "date night" dinner at Mesa once we were seated.
Always a great vibe, and typically good food, but very disappointed with the portion sizes for the price. The cheese plate had 3 different tiny pieces of cheese, literally a bite each for 2 people. The entree was tasty, but again a very small amount for the pretty high price. The wine serving was small, but the cocktails are always great. Overall disappointed this time, when you leave a restaurant still a little hungry.
