Mesa Modern Mexican Ratings and Reviews
We did not appreciate where they made us sit. Back room in the corner smashed against the wall with TV over our heads. Horrible. I asked if we could site in any of the other empty tables as the majority of the restaurant was empty. They informed me no because they had reservations at each table. I explained that we would only be 1 hour and why could they not reseat us at a table who did not have a reservation until around 6:00 pm ( we were at 4:30 pm) I was told no. I asked if we could be put on a wait list and again was told no that there was no wait list. The manager NEVER came over to talk to me at all - just kept sending the hostess. Very rude; apparently we were not worth her time. We stayed and ate while watching the empty tables in the back room continue to be empty. We paid and left with the tables in the back room remaining empty. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. As HR Manager for my company I am the one who selects the restaurants and makes the group reservation. While I have selected Mesa in the past for company events I assure you this won't ever happen again.
Shame on the female manager on duty - I used to be a frequent customer - not any more.
Friday night dining and restaurant was lively and cozy. Atmosphere is authentic as is the food. Our server was attentive and the food very good on this visit, better than the last two. The food was fresh, made to order, and we did not have to wait. Highly recommend the burrito bowl and guacamole.
Food was good as always, awesome guacamole, pitcher of margaritas and tacos. Was Friday night but the weather cut down on the crowd, I think. Service was just a little slow- took a while to get our orders in and get the guacamole and drinks, but other than that everything was great.
The food was delicious. The empanadas were different than traditional. Such a unique flavor. We also ordered pork enchiladas which was also different. They had sweet potato which was a perfect balance of salty , sweet with spices. Loved it. We will definitely be back.
Food and drinks were amazing like always!! Brought a friend that had never been before so I was a little disappointed in the service that night. Service was very slow. It looked like there were not enough servers. Took forever to get anything. My husband ran out to the car and when he came back in he overheard the hostess saying the people were staying to long. I think if the service was quicker people wouldn’t have been sitting at their tables as long as they were.
Good food as expected. Waitress seemed to be new, needed to speak up in the noisy environment. She did make up for it with speed of delivery.
Guac used to be prepared at the table and was now brought from the kitchen already prepared... much better when made at table.
Crowd young college age or just above and loud, even though the place was not full
Drinks were generous and flavorful
I want to love Mesa. The food and drinks are so good and it’s a cute place. However half the time i come in here the service is so insanely terrible that it ruins the entire experience and leaves me very very close to not coming back. I’d really like to see Mesa improve on this
The food was very good. Fresh flavorful food with nice portion size (not too big or small). Drinks were generous, atmosphere festive, waiter competent and attentive. We had a lovely dinner. There was not one thing about the service, food, or atmosphere that we didn't enjoy.
I've been to Mesa a few times and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and their food is very good. I always get the guacamole but this last time it was pretty bland. Could be the avocado's are out of season? I don't know. I highly recommend this restaurant you won't be disappointed!
The atmosphere is awesome both inside and out! I don't love the style of seating on the one wall where one side is a long booth and the other is chairs and essentially couples are potentially seated very close to other couples. I do understand that it maximizes the space and we were there late enough that it did not affect our experience. Good food and great service! Loved the cocktail menu and variety of seasonal options!
We had a reservation for a Monday night. The restaurant only had a few occupied tables and 3 people at the bar. We ordered 2 tequilas on the rocks, and our server was confused. She wanted to know what mixers we wanted so we repeated our order. Then we ordered an appetizer. Waited 10 minutes for our drinks, then I went up to the bar and asked the bartender if we could get our drinks we had ordered. He didn't make the two glasses of tequila even though he was not busy doing anything else.
Server brought our appetizer, which was only OK. 5 minutes later our tequilas finally showed up. Restaurant was still empty.
Cod tacos showed up and were good.
Paid our bill $57.20 with $100 cash. Our change came back in bills, no change, so we were shorted 80 cents.
Very poor service, perhaps it was because we went on a Monday. Would not go back.
Has been awhile since we've eaten at Mesa but usually have always enjoyed a good meal. While the food was good, the service was slow. We would have ordered additional drinks but it took so long to get the 1 Shot of Tequila - that we chose to drink elsewhere. Success for any business is Service, so I hope that Mesa works on providing better service.
The service was very poor,we waited more than ten minutes before anyone got our drink order....and we had to flag a manager for that.....the portions were small......at the conclusion of our meal we were never asked if we would like anything else....the server just brought our check.....we will not be revisiting .
Went for taco Tuesday with my boyfriend. Server was great, I feel bad that I can't remember his name. The margaritas were weaker than they usually are, the gauc tasted kind of imbalanced with the ingredients and I was really disappointed after thinking about it all day. The taco's were alright, not my fave thing on the menu.
