Tonight we had our five and a six year old grandkids with us. The staff did a super job with bringing our appetizer and meals quickly. The kids every last bite - starting with the asparagus. Thanks so much!
We try to go to Merrick’s whenever we’re In Lexington. Make sure to get a reservation. They are packed, especially when Keeneland is having their Spring or Fall Meet! The food is always very good. My husband always gets the fried chicken, and I get the pork encrusted tenderloin in a very yummy mango and Makers Mark sauce. We have never been disappointed.
Love Merrick Inn... the food is wonderful and the service is impeccable. It never disappoints.
My wife and I enjoyed our dinner very much. We would like to dine at the Inn more often but the prices prohibit us in doing so. We feel that the prices are a bit high to enjoy on a somewhat regular basis in a realm of other necessities we must have to work and survive. This is unfortunate because it limits us in enjoying your establishment more often. Again, we enjoyed our visit and would like to be able to do it more often.
Our first visit to Keeneland and this provided a perfect classic dining experience.
Merrick was recommended by a form Ky. resident and it’s was excellent. The property is a 150+ yr old home exquisitely renovated and run by a family. The service by Clay was stellar. Highly recommendable
This was our second time at Merrick Inn and we were disappointed in the food and the service. My husband enjoyed the special pork chop but my filet was dry and tasteless. The waitress never came back to check on us to see if our food was satisfactory or refill our drinks. She did send someone else to check on us but it was just as we were finishing our meal.
Consistent, Excellent Food and Service
8 friends all enjoyed food ambiance and server. Loved learning the history of the property.
Very enjoyable evening and food was excellent.
The prime rib was outstanding. Should’ve stuck with the filet and passed on the medallions. Not very nice cuts. Lots of gristle. But the ambiance, charm and great service never disappoint.
This is a wonderful restaurant in so many ways - ambience, food, service, old-world elegance, etc. There were old folks and young folks going to the prom, and all seemed happy and content.
Food is good home-style cooking with an upscale flair.
Excellent food, drinks and service! We always enjoy an evening at Merrick Inn, the classic Southern foods and service are impeccable! We can hardly wait for the patio to open.
Have been going to Merrick Inn for many years. Always good. Highly recommend!!
We had a lovely dinner, the food was excellent. The wine was very good and reasonably priced. The service was perfect. The only negative was not the restaurants fault, it was the drunk woman at the table next to us. She was the entertainment I guess, she was very loud and vulgar. My husband had thick, delicious prime rib and I had shrimp and cheesy grits that was superb. This has become our favorite restaurant in Lexington!
Fabulous food, ambience and service.
Always excellent from front to back. Tina is an exceptional waitress and always makes our visits special.
A very enjoyable dinner. Staff is great, helpful and informative. Setting is lovely and refined without being stuffy. Food is very good — a special compliment to the strawberry shortcake! We had an excellent time.
Pretty Exceptional! I rarely give a 5 star rating - things have to be pretty perfect for that - and overall that is what the Merrick Inn was. First, this was a celebration so I requested a table by the fire. I find those requests are rarely honored, but as you can see they did so. There were four of us - One had the Ribeye, one had the Merrick Hot Brown, one had the Pecan crusted pork tenderloin, and one had the special. Everyone raved about their entrees, but the things that made it five star were near perfect service and really delicious sides. They had a mushroom and cheese dish that was amazing. Asparagus was perfectly cooked and sauced. Good bread and butter and crème brulee as well as yummy after dinner coffees. There was very little left on anyone's plate except my husband who is a light eater. He had 1/2 of his Hot Brown left, so he took it home. That's usually a waste of refrigerator space until it goes in the trash. Not the case here - two nights later he ate it (and enjoyed it) for dinner! I'll add some pictures, but unfortunately, didn't think of it until we had started eating so not as pretty as it was when it arrived! I had been once before, but only for cocktails as we were too early for dinner. Oh, and I'd like to mention that part of our dinner was paid for by a generously donated gift-card won at the Pink Ribbon Auction. Thanks to Merrick for supporting a great cause as well. Whenever we travel to Lexington this will be our "go to" place!
The food was outstanding. They were accommodating in adjusting my reservation at the last minute.
We dine at the Merrick Inn twice a year when in Lexington for the races. We wish it could be more. The food is excellent as is the whole experience.
We brought out of town guests here for dinner. We wanted a local place that never disappoints. We shared the special appetizer shrimp fresh corn fried green tomato- they serve the best old fashioned cocktail in all of Lexington
Long time gem with great cuisine and better service. True gem not to be missed.
This was a fun and excellent evening. Service was outstanding. Drinks were the best and food all we could hope for.
wonderful place for special dinner - prime rib melted in mouth. And the bread pudding is not to be missed.
The staff is always courteous, and makes you feel at home.
My 60th Birthday dinner was wonderful at the Merrick. It has been my favorite restaurant for many many years. Never disappointed!
Wonderful experience and food
Loved the food, excellent waiter, and just an all around wonderful experience!
Merrick Inn is a special place in Lexington. The restaurant is an old house featuring an exceptional menu. Service is wonderful, the staff looks after you from the time you arrive, no short cuts. If you want a slightly more casual meal, dine in the pub, same great menu.
We will be back, hopefully at a quieter time. We had requested a quiet table and were placed instead in a boisterous room where families and small children were dining. It was loud, and that was not conducive to the romantic birthday I had planned (and requested!). However, the food was delicious, the waitstaff friendly and prompt. We will return when we save up for the occasion, as the prices were a bit more than our normal range!
The Merrick Inn is a casual restaurant that we visited while in Lexington. The food is excellent. The service was very attentive. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.
Excellent service and delicious good. Also very celiac friendly which is essential in our household for one member. Just a great overall experience.
Great service and meals were very good.
The bar was fun too.
The food was outstanding along with the service. It was very noisy and hard for my elderly parents to hear.
Daughter home from college
Always good food! Love the atmosphere.
Wonderful dinner. Closest thing to a fine catered dinner at home. Fireplace was perfect. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was delicious as always. Service was excellent .
Love the cozy interior of this restaurant- a true southern gem. The food is delicious and great hospitality, strong wine list - we all thoroughly enjoyed.
