Food was good. Flavor profiles lovely. Decor nice. Service slow. Need to get carpets cleaned.
1st time here. We enjoyed our dinner. Everything we ordered was very good from pork chop to lamb osso buco. Our waiter, Tony, was excellent.
inventive menu (without being weird)....imaginative wine list....great execution in the kitchen and from the waitstaff.....this is a go-to spot....equal to anything in manhattan, and without all the fuss
This is my favorite restaurant in Scarsdale. The food is always great the service is terrific and it’s just a great dining experience.
The food was really awesome last night. It was nice that our waiter remembered us. Such a convenient location in Scardale. Definitely recommend!
Dining at the Meritage is always a fantastic experience. They had a special menu this week (Hudson Valley restaurant week) and we tried the buratta which was tasteful and delicious, the steak skirt which was cooked to perfection and we ended the meal with a wonderful chocolate mousse. I will definitely go back again.
Went with friends and we all did the Hudson Valley Rest Wk menu which was very diverse and gave us ample choices. Server as usual very attentive/professional/friendly. Highly recommend for any dinner occasion- Always consistent and I like the way the menu changes and nice wine list, Might b pricey for some but we feel worth it.
A nice dining experience.
Our favorite, local, go-to place for a cozy and relaxing meal with just the two of us or with close friends. Jamie and Al are warm, friendly and welcoming hosts. Tony, who we've known for decades, is one of the best and most attentive waiters we've ever had, bar none. The food is delicious. The ample warm sourdough bread is out-of-this world and, to end your meal, their signature warm, crunchy, oozing chocolate bread pudding/vanilla ice cream dessert is to die for!
The wine and drink are great too. If you're a fan of an old-school cocktail, ask the bartender to make you a tasty and tangy Sazerak, one of their best-kept secrets. The menu is somewhat limited compared to many places but that's by design as they offer only the freshest local;y-sourced food. That's not to say that we've ever had trouble finding something we love either on the menu or as a special of the night but it's just something to be aware of.
We had the prix fixe dinner on our visit last Tuesday night and it was plenty to eat for a reasonable price. As a bonus, you can bring your own bottle on Tuesday nights when they waive the corkage fee.
Best of all, Meritage (pronounced MER-i-tahge) is one of the few upscale restaurants in Westchester where you can have a a great meal AND a quiet conversation without raising your voice or being hoarse from shouting by the end of the night. It's a romantic spot and a great place to catch-up with friends. (I have really come to despise those place that seem to go out of their way to sound popular. Always leave those place with a headache!)
We're never, ever rushed at Meritage and always leave with our appetites and souls fully sated. We've been to countless restaurants in Southern Westchester and this is our absolute favorite.
If you are a kindred spirit, I encourage you to give them a try. You won't be disappointed!
It was great as always. We sat at the bar for the first time and it was as enjoyable as being at a table.
Food was great ,the service Excellent. I was actually reading some of the other reviews and clearly some of these people must have been to Heritage ( as written) not Meritage. Our go to table has to be with Tony ......... why not have the best? Always a great meal and service. Our Friday or Saturday favorite
Service was excellent and food delicious. Celebrated a “BIG” birthday and it was handled so well.
Food was very good, service mediocre (we don’t have tomatoes in kitchen?) a little bit of attitude but overall very nice experience. But for price I’d go only for special occasion.
Went for Valentine's Day and was pleasantly surprised that the food and service was "most excellent". Prix Fixe dinner and a custom cocktail. Michael our waiter was exemplary. I will definitely return.
Valentine's Day dinner with my wife. The 4 course menu was good, but the service was awful. Waited for what seemed like 15-20 minutes for a waiter. And it didn't change throughout the evening. It seemed like they were overwhelmed by the crowd. Also, not a good value. Overpriced for the food quality and service. Disappointed especially after reading the reviews beforehand.
Always excellent! Possibly the most understatedly excellent restaurant in Westchester County.
What an amazing restaurant! The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Will go back for sure !
The food we had recently at Heritage was fabulous! The chef is a master of sauces; as a result, the mussels, duck, and pork au poivre, a special, were fantastic! The mushroom soup was very tasty and was served hot - the way I like it!
Unfortunately, the poor service detracted from the experience. The cocktails we ordered took way too long to be delivered, even though the restaurant was not very busy; they were delicious, though. Most importantly, my main course, the pork special, was not delivered with my companion's dinner - a different pork dish was incorrectly prepared and delivered! I sent back the dish; my companion ate her dinner while my correct order was prepared - that error was inexcusable! In addition, the glasses of wine that we ordered in advance to accompany the main courses were delivered some time after the main courses were presented.
While we were not charged for the wine as a courtesy, the excellent food at Meritage should be accompanied by excellent service!
The waitress we first had was less attentive than she should have been...and then she “disappeared” and we never saw her again.
The food was a bit disappointing...and in overpriced.
Really enjoyed the experience
We visited Meritage for the first time on New Years Eve. We were looking for a quieter spot with well prepared dishes and we found it there! We had varied choices from fish(lobster), veal , and pork dishes and all were uniquely presented and very tasty. The appetizer course had some unusual taste treats, especially for a chilly evening. Great cauliflower soup. Service was quietly perfect and friendly. Wonderful evening.
I love this restaurant. The bread pudding is to die for
I left a message via OpenTable that I used this restaurant for a small reception 9 years ago. Without saying anything they gave me a check with the $9 dessert on the house. The waitress was friendly and polite. It was just so relaxing, especially because when we went at 5:45 there was nobody for the good first 30 minutes. Food was good, well presented.
Best restaurant in scarsdale. An old friend. Morgan, the barman, is a talented mixologist. Menu simple, but fresh and sufficient selection. Accommodating , friendly, welcoming. Love it!
Service was a little on the slow side but that was mainly a positive. It was nice not to be rushed out. On the other hand they took a little too long to take our dessert order
Excellent food. Always good. Attentive but not hovering service. One of my favorite places to eat!
We've eaten here enough times to know that the food will be excellent but the service will be slow. However, at our most recent visit, the service was not just slow, it was poor. Items that were requested were never brought, things like ground pepper & grated parmesan were never offered, & we were charged for a bottle of wine we never ordered. It'll take us a while to go back.
Always consistent and good
Customer service is obviously of prime importance because the staff could not have been more supportive. Because of extremely heavy traffic we were 45 minutes late. I called and they agreed to save our table. I explained that we needed to get in and out to make a concert. We were! We had an amazingly delicious meal with appetizer and main course, and were in and out in just 45 minutes. We made it to our concert in time. I loved the vegetarian ravioli. Our friends enjoyed fish, pasta and chicken. Everyone was happy.
I was taking a friend out to dinner who I had not seen in many years. I was told that the restaurant overbooked and there was no room for us in the dining room so we were seated in the bar. They gave us free drinks to compensate. The service was a bit slow -- perhaps because we were not in the dining room. The ambiance and food were very good.
We tried this restaurant because it's local and it was Restaurant Week. They menu that they had posted on Restaurant Week and the menu that they handed us for Restaurant Week was a bit different. The one on the internet had many more choices and dessert included. When we got there we had to actually ask for the restaurant week menu, it wasn't offered to us. When it was dessert time, he brought us a dessert menu with prices next to it. When he came by to take our order I had to mention that they have posted on the restaurant week sight that dessert was included and then he mentioned that he forgot we ordered off of the restaurant week menu and allowed us to include dessert. Besides that shadyness, the food was great.
Nice place, good food, friendly staff.easy parking. Try chocolate bread pudding, a specialty.
Great food great service. Love the wait staff. Bartender makes great drinks
Really great dinner and service. The beet salad was incredible and the duck did not disappoint.
Sunday dinner offers a great value, a delicious"family style" Prix Fixe for two.
Always a unique and memorable dining experience. Creative presentation with delicious fresh ingredients
Meritage is one of those restaurants where we are never disappointed. We've been going there for many years , and even though we don't go very often, Tony (our waiter) always remembers us. The food is delicious and they offer some unusual dishes. I recommend you try it!
Always great for a delicious quiet meal. Friendly service and management - a true neighborhood gem!
None pretentious. Good food French/Italian/American. Quiet.
I think the food and service are very good. The prices are reasonable. I wish they had a few more appetizers and entrees to choose from.
