Perfect! What a lovely restaurant. The food, the service, the seating and tableware – everything was of the highest quality. The amuse bouche, the salad, our scallop and chicken cordon bleu entrees, the coffee, the wine....so delicious. Can’t wait to visit again.

Great overall experience. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Appetizers and entrees were both tasty and aesthetically pleasing. Dessert was great. We had a concert to get to and the staff did a good time keeping us on time.

Excellent wine list. Each course was equally enjoyable although I do favor the fois gra. Our server was exceptional and met all our request. We will be back soon.

Wonderful evening at the Meritage. They accommodate my request for view given the special occasion. Service was fantastic. Only 4 stars for food because although it was really good, the bisque and the fried crab weren't warm, there was nothing on the dessert menu that tempted us, and the mise-en-bouche and bread were interesting but not amazing. Overall experience fantastic though. Totally recommend

The service, including host, was superb. My friend and I ordered the pre fixe with wine pairing menu. The food was well balanced, delicious, and the pairings brought out the best in the menu. The view was perfect, as well. This restaurant is not modern, in such a good way. It’s classic fresh with an emphasis on service, which is a rare find these days. I will return when in Boston!

Heritage is one of the finest restaurants in Boston. In the heart of downtown with a beautiful view of the harbor. The service was extraordinary without being intrusive. The noise level is low enough for quiet conversation and the tables are well spread out. The prices are not excessively high and the food is wonderful. Definitely right at the top of my list for special occasions.

Fine dining experience with a lovely Boston harbor view. The staff jumped through hoops to accommodate our over-changing schedule. The food was done to a perfection with the exception of the desert. The kitchen can up their game when it comes to the desert to match the rest of the tasting menu. The service was professional and the wine selection was excellent. We will definitely repeat.

Everything was timed perfectly. Our cocktails were nicely considered takes on classics. The staff gave our table the same impeccable attention to detail that the chef clearly gave each course. Frances expertly guided us from start to finish with good recommendations and even better personality. Looking forward to the next visit.

Beautiful view from the window tables. The tables are nicely spaced. I particularly liked the fact that the window tables are offset from the windows by few feet so that the waiters can move freely to either side of the table and never have to reach across the table to serve food, fill water, or take away plates.

The food was excellent, although the portions are not large. The tasting menu looked quite good, but we didn't have time, so we ordered a la carte. We were served two delicious amuse-bouches.

As we left we were given small gift boxes which contained candies of some sort (still haven't eaten them).

Like that they have small plates again as well as large plates. Prices are reasonable. Nice variety of choices. Great menu. Food is very well prepared and tasty. Wonderful presentation. Chef taste is a nice touch.

Lovely evening with lifelong friends. From arrival to departure everything happened seamlessly. The mushroom bisque was rich and mushroom meaty, we were almost said when we finished it. The halibut was light and flavorful. A very generous portion with perfect accompaniments. Everyone who interacted with our table was professional and courteous. We had a table overlooking the harbor and watched twilight arrive. Really beautiful! And the noise level was what we were looking for. We wanted to catch up and feared a cacophony. It was perfect for conversation. We highly recommend Meritage

The food was excellent and kudos to the chef for having such a great menu. However, the service was not so great- specifically timing. It felt as if other tables got more attention than our table. For example the table next to us was constantly having their silverware replaced while for us it took quite some time. Also, the bread dish remained on the table throughout the night , even though we pushed it to the side and it was empty. For the $$ value, in my opinion the service could have been more on point.

Meritage never ceases to impress. The 6 course chef tasting with wine pairing is absolutely amazing and the level of service is 2nd to none.

Always one of are favorite places to go. It’s a classy high end restaurant overlooking the water. Food is always made to perfection a lot with the wait staff being terrific. I would recommend to anyone looking for a special dinner night

Dinner here was a bit disappointing. We picked the octopus as first course - the dish proved to be mediocre: the octopus was on the bland side, the sauce and accompaniments were overly spicy and featuring falcors that didnt match well with the octopus, and the overall technical execution was below average. The entrees of Halibut and Scallops proved to be much better - the scallops dish being well balanced and very nicely done, with excellent products. Desert was also on the diappointing side: the (deconstructed) ''apple pie' had apples which were undercooked, and the 'palet d'or'' (a classic French chocolate cake) was a bit dry instead of beig creamy and voluptuous as it should be. Service was very attentionate but a bit stiff and there were very few diners. The overall impression is that a real chef doesnt inhabit this place, which is rather operated as a business which has lost sight of a real passion for cuisine.

Took my wife here for a valatines dinner, and we were blown away by how well you are taken care of. We were greeted graciously, taken to our table. Our waiter introduced himself and answered all our questions, as well as his recommendation. We decided on the Valentine special 6 course meal with the wine pairing, and what a meal it was! Everything was amazing! And once again before each meal, we were introduced to the wine that would go with our meal and explained it's origin. The restaurant itself is beautiful, from the table setting to the environment. It isn't crowded with other customers and the music is not loud and not to quite to enjoy. Everything about this place is just wonderful! Highly recommend!

I love this restaurant, and would always recommend his as a true food experience. The complaint this time was the shortage of staff. Though the restaurant was not busy, it seemed the server had little time and the sommelier continuously left my glass empty.

Lovely setting overlooking the harbor. Great service/great wine list. Had 4 course prix fixe dinner with wine - spanish octopus was sublime, coffee rubbed steak was not as flavorful as expected and desert was average. My wife had more consistent excellent food experience (shrimp w/crab, poached lobster), but also shared the average desert experience. Very good overall, just not a consistently 'wow' food experience over the 4 courses.

Meritage offers an outstanding dining experience with a menu that features locally sourced dishes and servers who share their understanding and appreciation of each item on the menu, and the accompanying wines. They feed both the body and mind. One should be prepared to take their time to savor all that is offered.

One of the top ten dinning experiences that I have had. Perfect timing as we were celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary. We are familiar with Chef Bruce from his terrific Wine Festival dinners but this was a first trip to the restaurant.

Spot on service, wonderfully clever that was food beautifully presented, and they acknowledged our occasion with class. Chef Bruce creates elegant dishes that are unpretentious and accessible. The restaurant itself is intimate but alive.

I couldn't recommend Meritage more highly

Outstanding food and service! The best dining experience that I’ve had in my life. I can’t say enough about the exceptional food and service. The Meritage is all about an exceptional dining experience from the moment you arrive through a professional and courteous escort as you are leaving. Class act all the way. Significant disappointment that kitchen would not allow any substitution on their tasting menu. Asked to alter one first course to change from scallop to tuna due to shellfish issue. Wouldn’t accommodate the request. There were only 11 people in the dining room the entire time we were there. I have eaten in much finer restaurants with tasting menus and never had a similar request denied, including many internationally acclaimed restaurants (Michelin starred restaurants). The thought that this somehow altered the integrity of the proposed menu is almost insulting to me as a diner. The result of this was also that the others in the party could not enjoy the tasting menu as everyone at the table had to choose this.
