Generally the food was very good; however, the bone-in rib eye had too much gristle and fat. Also, the icing on the chocolate cake ruined the taste of the dessert.
Great experience. Food and service is always very good.
Went to Meritage for New Years Eve. Food was delicious.
As usual, my expereince at the Meritage was wonderful. Low key and upscale at the same time. My prime rib was awesome!
I am thrilled with their new location ...the old Iron House restaurant in Glendale. The redoecorating is simple and lovely.
The seafood we had was quite good. The downstairs was quite quiet and a good place for a dinner with friends. Good food that is not ridiculously expensive.
The service was great. We were upstairs for lunch, primarily by ourselves so there wasn't any noise. The restaurant itself is beautiful and was decorated nicely for Christmas. The down side was the price of the food. Too expensive for lunch..
This is a sad situation. The old meritage located just a block away was delicious and well run for years. However, ever since they changed locations (and I think something changed with management as well?) the restaurant hasn't given us a single positive experience.
The service is slow, inexperienced, inattentive, and generally pretty useless. Drinks don't get refilled. Food is slow to come out and has had at least one problem every time we have gone. It doesn't even work for lunch because the slow service requires a 2 hour lunch break to accommodate.
This simply isn't a serviceable restaurant, and after years of regular visits to the old spot, my wife and I have officially given up. I will only set foot in this establishment again if it is for a group dinner and someone else is paying for my subpar food and service.
We had our anniversary dinner and it was very enjoyable. The service and food was exellent. We are adding it to our go to places so will be back for sure.
We went on Tuesday seafood night but we all had beef or pork. It was all quite good and we were all satisfied. The seafood selections looked good; might have actually been more than I could eat as it is several courses for a fixed price. We would definitely go back.
Never refilled our water glass. They brought out two dinners at a time and with 10 people this was excruciating long. It took 3 hours to eat because service was so sloooow. They won't be in business much longer
We had a lovely after Christmas meal with family friends. Perfect for our group of 10 as we had a table on the second floor which gave us plenty of room and privacy. The restaurant was quiet as it was rainy out plus the day after Christmas. Menu had a wide variety of offerings from steaks to fish to salads and sandwiches -- something for everyone! We had appetizers that were delivered quickly and some a great drinks. Server was fantastic!
First time here. We were dining with another couple.
The waiter, Sean, was excellent. Since we do not get together very often, we were taking our time tomenjoy each other's company. Sean took it all in stride and did not pressure us to order at all.
We shared the calimary and mussels appetizers which were both very good. Three of us had the prime rib special that was again done to perfection. The fourth person had the salmon that she said was very good.
Overall a great place in a great location.
Great corner table where our toddler could have some room to play. Great food and service
It was Christmas Eve so it was crowded, and also pretty loud.
This is the first time we have been to the new location. The quality of the food is much improved (although it was perfectly acceptable before). The prices have gone up, but the food is worth it. The live musician was fabulous and not too loud, so we were able to carry on a conversation while he played (he doesn't seem to take a break).
Overall, I would say the move was a change for the better all the way around.
Very nice. I have always loved the Iron Horse, so when Meritage moved to this location is was a win win. Good food in a great location.
The food was good overall. The pasta portions were large. The grilled salmon was dry on the outside and a bit under cooked. The server was OK but trying to do to much as the the resturant was quite busy. Overall a decent meal I will probably try them again after the holidays.
Great Caesar salad and rare prime rib. Hard to find good rare prime rib. Wife's Cortina was excellent. Glendale martini very good. Service was excellent.
The bar service was very nice and the food was prepared very well.
