This is a great place to have dinner with friends! Great food, the server offered great service and good humor. Best of all, the musician, Dave Ridenour was incredible!
Our server seemed to have too many tables and service was a little slow. The twice baked potato had too much pepper.
Our server Tonya was excellent! We were celebrating my husbands 73rd Birthday. The 3-course seafood special was good except for my lobster tail had a strong “ammonia” smell and taste. (I am a chef and I know what that means)... so i refused to consume the remainder of tail. I alerted our server so that she could inform the kitchen staff. Fortunately, my husband’s lobster tail had no such smell or taste. The rest of our meal was very good!
Music way too loud!!!!! Food and service was great👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The Tuesday seafood night is quite a bargain. For a dollar or two more than the usual ala carte entree you get an appetizer and salad as well as the entree. It's a lot of food, but very good.
Restaurant looked "tired". Food and drinks were overpriced. Quality was fair. Would not go back.
From the service to the drinks to the food, not one of us left unhappy! And my great aunt kept her leftovers. She NEVER keeps her leftovers.
We truly enjoyed our dinner as well as the live music during our dinner. The excellent variety of menu items are very reasonably priced. The location, lovely ambiance, impeccable service, delicious food and affordable prices is a plus for us. A perfect restaurant for a quiet date-night dinner. The calamari appetizer, steak, pork chop entrees we ordered were absolutely outstanding. Meritage, we greatly appreciate your excellence.
Great food and service as usual.
Lovely live music accompanied a wonderful meal. I had the prime rib and my husband had the salmon. Both were amazing. The presentation is beautiful. The baked brie appetizer was yummy as were the dessserts. It is a lovely atmosphere and the food is well worth the price.
Very nice restaurant in a cute area.
Outstanding service from Steve, delicious food and lovely ambiance.
great food and service. didn’t feel rushed at all.
Wonderful meal, very healthy proportions, great flavors and great service! Will be back again.
What a gem! This restaurant was beautiful and had live music. All the wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was INCREDIBLE! Definitely somewhere to check out when you are near Cincinnati!
A good restaurant but nothing worth returning for. The rolls that were served with the meal looked and tasted like an unsliced hamburger buns. Salads were small and unimpressive. Entrees (cod topped with crab stuffing & prime rib) were large portions and very good. The sides (rice and "loaded" baked potato) were disappointing. The rice wasn't seasoned and was overcooked. The potato had very little toppings.
The restaurant was only half full but it was very loud. It was difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices.
Our Waitress acted as if she was in afoot race to get our order... continued asking were we ready for this, for that, she had a attitude.
Food was great.
Wonderful food with great service!!
Meritage never disappoints. I chose Meritage for a business lunch because I knew we would be able to have a quiet luncheon with excellent food and service. Thanks Meritage!
Great food! The French Dip was amazing and we loved the ambiance.
We booked a reservation for our 12th anniversary. Food was delicious. My husband had the Thai Salmon with baked potato and I had Crab Cakes with Brussel Spouts. The sprouts were the best I've ever had!
Service and atmosphere were entirely a different experience. Our server was slow to greet us at the table. They forgot to bring my salad, waitress never returned to table to fill water glasses. When she finally returned to the table we were done eating and she simply stated, "so you need a box and the check?" no offer of dessert and still no water refills to our long empty glasses. She did finally offer to fill our glasses when she brought the check. She apologized for her forgetting and offered a free dessert to make up for the experience.
Atmosphere. There was piped in music in the dining room that was competing with live entertainment from the bar area. Oddly enough with the live entertainment ended, so did the piped in music. The only thing we could here from that point in was the patrons from the bar and staff conversations. Needless to say it didn't lend to a nice relaxed evening out.
We had a great window seat looking out onto the railroad tracks. Windows were filthy.
When we left, not a single acknowledgement. Only staff laughing and joking with patrons in the bar... Which by the way was stacked with dirty glassware.
While the food was absolutely delicious, sadly the service and atmosphere will keep us from returning or recommending to friends and family. For the money we spent, I would expect a much higher level of service.
Meritage is a great place to go to listen to music, eat good food, have great conversation, and the service is out of this world. (Especially Steven). But everyone is fantastic.
Wine was expensive for the amount provided. Salmon was a bit dry and perhaps overcooked. Stuffed mushrooms were very good!
When visiting my grandchildren, I always take them to Meritage. They have fairly sophisticated tastes, and the Thai salmon was marvelous. Being kids, they also loved the chips and cheese dip appetizer. it was a lovely evening all around. Thank You!
We have been here multiple times. Each time the food and service have been exceptional.
Took my 5 year old to his first “fancy restaurant”. We had the prime rib which melted in my mouth and my son had the macaroni and cheese and they made him a side of grilled chicken. The macaroni was light and had the perfect dusting of breadcrumbs. The breadcrumbs has so much flavor it made the dish incredible. They sliced my son’s chicken breast up which he ate every bite of. Then we took home dessert. Holy cow! Peanut butter marshmallow pie and cheesecake with mint Oreo crumbles. Off the charts delicious. We have always enjoyed our meals here, and it was such a pleasant experience with our boy today.
Meritage use to be a very good place to go for food, service, and ambiance. This visit it went down in all areas. Not sure if just an off night, or new normal. Always ask the price of specials. Entree salad with chicken was either 21.00 or 22.00.
Our waitress was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were exactly as she described they would be. Food was excellent!
Everything was very good except for the prime rib. It was flavorful, but quite tough. Stay with the seafood.
The prime rib was excellent. Service pretty good ... I have had lots worse but our server managed.
Always a great food experience.
The outside patio and the bar inside are very inviting. The ambiance of the dining room is rather stark with the plain white walls. It didn't quite represent the history of the building.
Dinner outside on the patio on a Saturday evening. The fish tacos were amazing and our friends’ entrée of crab, lobster and shrimp looked equally delicious .
The train going by occasionally, lent an air of nostalgia to the evening which we really enjoyed. I’ve already recommended Meritage to friends.
I had a great Old Fashioned. Not too sweet. Cheese filled mushroom appetizers were delicious, as was the Meritage salad with added shrimp.
Wine glass came with lipstick on it. Replaced with house wine versus the bottle we ordered. Service was slow, not enough servers. Food was mediocre for price. nice location thought
Always a pleasure to sit on the terrace. Outstanding cocktails and great service.
Wonderful drinks at the bar first with dinner outside on a lovely night. Enjoyed the train engine going by every once in a while. Easy to hear and talk with friends inside and outside. All of our food was wonderful.
Got together with some old neighbors so it was convenient place to meet with exceptional good food. Great service not too rushed. The only bad thing we had was the ice tea. Very bitter.
We sat outside, the weather was perfect. Other than the train sound which we knew about and didn't mind. Our waiter we very good, professional and informative. Food was also told, I had the fish tacos!
Great place for business lunch. Volume was just right and the food was an excellent compliment to our meeting.
