Meridian Ratings and Reviews
We have had many excellent dining experiences at Meridian but this was not one of them. We were expecting to be able to order off the regular menu and were surprised at the prix fixed menu, was not mentioned on the web site or open table when I made the reservation. Because of the preset menu the service was rushed and many of the items did not seem freshly prepared. While the donuts were one of the desserts it was not the usual presentation with the bag, etc. but this was not noted on the menu. My wife asked to exchange a first course item (choices were oysters, mussels, beets) for 2 second course items, which seemed quite reasonable to me, but was denied. There should have been a broader variety of 1st course choices because the options had limited appeal. The overall experience was disappointing.
Had not been to Meridian for a while. It was a real pleasure getting reacquainted. Just the right atmosphere for a winter day lunch. Great wine list. Attentive service with a good pace. The lunch hit all the right notes. The burger was truly impressive as was the Wild Boar Bolognese. I will be back soon.
We Love Meridian. It has become our go-to on Christmas Eve. Food is always wonderful, we were not rushed, they do not have a limited menu or add more tables because of the demand on that night. We had two children with us and our waiter was great with them and very patient with the picky eater. Great choice any time!
Our daughter lives in Indianapolis and we like to try different restaurants when we visit. We were there for Christmas weekend. We picked Meridian this time because it was listed in Condé Nast Traveler as Indiana's coziest restaurant. Whether it is or not doesn't matter because it was excellent regardless. We were seated immediately and service was lovely. And it was indeed cozy. Everything we had for dinner was excellent, from the mussels to the corn purée as starters to all the entrees. I particularly enjoyed the short rib with barley and our daughter really enjoyed the cauliflower alfredo. Desserts were quite good as well. We heartily recommend Meridian and will definitely go there again.
We had an Open Table reservation. We reminded them and we were seated. Then later we were notified that we were no shows and our reservation was cancelled by the restaurant. Puzzling? We let the restaurant know and Open Table know and OT rectified it. Otherwise all was ok.
Thank you for an enjoyable evening of delicious food and wonderful service. The food is so creatively prepared and presented and the most important part, the flavors, are sublime. The subtle additions of gourmet mushrooms to the pork chop dish and the creative treatment of the radish salad are what make Meridian special for my wife and me. We love food and are very adventurous when it comes to trying new food combinations. Meridian's chef knows how to create a food adventure that is exciting and rewarding without being off-the-rails-risky. Thanks for another great experience.
Unfortunately, the restaurant did not have our OpenTable reservation, but after a momentary hesitation did accommodate us. It was our first visit to Meridian. Absolutely loved the lodge feel. The food, service and ambiance were all very good. Christian was very attentive and helpful with recommendations. I do wonder how this "gem" has escaped me before now.
There was a very loud party of about 20 people sitting next to our table sometimes it they were standing and almost in our table .. I guess they thought it was a bar ...we reported it to the manager and he was so kind to pay for entrées for the evening ....we will definitely be back
I love to have dinner at Meridian. The atmosphere is upscale log cabin/ski chalet.
Beautiful, cozy, inviting. The service is very good. The menu changes from time to time,
and it is creative and delicious. Love the brussel sprouts sale, the boar bolognese pasta,
wonderful salmon with a crispy exterior. I only wish they had a working gas fireplace in their fireplace. That's all that is missing!
Delicious food with a large variety of options. My husband’s quiche and salad looked amazing! I had the spinach salad and it was very good and fresh. Our server was very attentive and took excellent care of us. The decor was very rustic and it made me feel right at home!
Very disappointed with the menu. My wife is much more of a foodie. Any restaurant that doesn’t have steak on the menu is ignoring diners like myself. My fault for not reviewing the menu before booking a reservation. Have had great steaks there before so I assumed they would have them. Live and learn!
I'd consider myself a serious "foodie." Meridian is quite possibly the very best restaurant experience I've ever had on every level -- service, food, ambiance, atmosphere -- oh, did I mention SERVICE and FOOD??? Absolutely, without question, Indy's best kept culinary secret.
We’ve driven past this place for years when traveling to Indy. We recently moved here so we deceided to finally give it a try. So glad we did. In a nutshell: dine here for the flavors & food preparation. The food is unique & inovated with being too far out. Aubergine(eggplant) soup was amazing. Nice puréed consistency & served at just the right temperature. The roasted & braised vegetables that accompanied the melt in your mouth short ribs could have been a meal on their own. The pumpkin creme brûlée was delicious & definitely big enough to share. I was not a huge fan of the cranberry jam on top but it was easy to move aside. The pumpkin underneath was smooth & creamy. Not too sweet or overspiced either. Ask for Tasoula, she’s an excellent server.
