Mere Bulles Ratings and Reviews
Really a nice options for a Casual Friends Lunch. Fresh, very tasty salads. Nice menu selections for a lunch menu! Although the restaurant was quite busy during the lunch hours, it was easy to chat at our table and have a semi-private conversation. The staff did not rush us. We chat a long while after dining and were made to feel welcomed not rushed. The coffee could be served at a hotter temperature and they really should find a more flavorful, bold coffee. ** Important note for people with severe allergies. The staff immediately made me feel that they would take seriously my food severe food allergies. Our Waitstaff , I believe her name was Katie, checked with the kitchen and assured me that my food would have no exposure to the two most serious food allergies that I stated. When one has severe food allergies, it can only be enjoyable to dine out, if one is certain that the restaurant TRULY takes severe for allergies seriously. I was able to enjoy my food!!!
Mere Bulles never fails to please...one member of our group did have a problem with her fish. She did not want a replacement, but we were not charged for the dish and she was even given a gift card....good handling by your staff...I would say that the chef who cooked her fish should have picked up on the odor of the fish, which was strong and ammonia-y....with fish, if you can smell it, throw it out...
Fabulous brunch However, they did not have our reservation on file. I showed them my Open Table reservation confirmation for today 11/12/17 which they accepted. I have never had this happen before with your service and the food was wonderful so it worked out very well.
After researching restaurants in Nashville my husband and I selected this one. We are thrilled we did! We were in town for 36 hours but wanted a special meal and we found it. The setting is beautiful, the food fabulous and the wait staff exceptional. This is not somewhere I would show up in jeans or bring the children, but it's the perfect place for adults. The appetizer was amazing and I found myself thinking about my husband's phyllo-wrapped sea bass and I don't usually eat fish! My shrimp pasta was exceptional as well. We already have reservations for next week since we will be back in town. This is also a perfect place for special occasions. There was a group of 14 when we walked in and they handled it with ease. The entire group seemed to have a great time and I know we thoroughly enjoyed it!
Mere Bulles is always a good go-to for business lunches, dinners, or a friends meet-up. Their menu has been pared down over the years which I understand, but I still miss some of their old standards - Rib Rolls were always a favorite and don't currently appear on their dinner menu. Their brunch is still amazing and the bartender serves the best cosmopolitan in all of Nashville, hands down. Oh and the bisque - still stellar!
Sunday brunch buffet had a good variety: grouper, prime rib, salads, vegetables, and breakfast items. Desserts were also a treat. Many choices in small bite size portions. Last, but not the least, the chocolate fountain for your chocolate dipped fruits. Bill, our server, was quite helpful and pleasant despite the crowd. Upscale dining for a reasonable price.
As always, the She-Crab Bisque was delicious. The carved beef was perfect (au jus and horseradish).Best mashed sweet potatoes ever (not too sweet). Found the shrimp and grits so tasty! Enjoyed the hot peach cobbler. Service was superb. We look forward to dining with you again soon.
The Cosmopolitan was tart and strong. The rack of lamb was perfectly cooked, although the asparagus could have been a little less done. Excellent risotto! The ribeye was beautiful and the potato cake was crispy, creamy and delicious. The wine was excellent, even better in being half-price. Nathan took excellent care of us, despite needing to scramble for a couple of higher-maintenance guests.
The server was very rude and rushed our entire meal. We had heard very good things so we made reservations to take our family after a baby was dedicated. Not sure why they would allow a 1:30 reservation when they break down brunch around 2:00-2:15. For $30.00 a plate (total 240) it was not worth it especially when the food wasn't that fresh since it was right before brunch was over. Definitely will not come back. Very disappointed.
There is a serious problem with the lighting if you are unfortunate enough to be seated in their middle room. It simply is too dark to even see the menu! My husband and I arrived just before dusk and were just able to make out the menu. Several other couples who arrived later had to use their phones to see. In retrospect I realize I should have requested to be seated in the back area which seemed to be empty and sufficiently lighted. Still, I think the restaurant should be aware that diners are having a problem with this issue.
Love the ambience of the old Manor house. The she crab soup is scrumptious. We took friends to introduce them to the place and were little disappointed when the "hot chicken salad was not what our friend expected. Being a Southerner, she expected traditional chicken salad that was warm. The waiter was pretty unsympathetic and though she did not eat the hot chicken, no compensation was made.
The other disappointment was that the homemade potato chips were tough and tasteless.
The pork chop was awesome!
Sadly, I doubt our friends will want to return
