Mere Bulles Ratings and Reviews
Very nice brunch. Great music playing and everyone was very nice. Speakers in the ceiling corners need s little dusting. I ordered an Old Fashioned and my server chose an upcharge rye selection. I wish she’d have asked. I didn’t really like my drink - wasn’t made very well, didn’t love the rye chosen and I paid extra for it. Didn’t want to complicate our visit so I didn’t bother mentioning it - it that big a deal. Other than that it was a very good brunch.
Have been dining here for years....it never disappoints. Vernon, our server was (and always) fantastic. Hosted out Christmas Party there. Absolutely stunning and service /food was spectacular. Thank you Jessica, their super savvy and brilliant event coordinator !
Mere Bulles continues to be one of our favorites. The ambiance, the service and the food are all the things! Good wine at a great price point...servers and chefs who are very accommodating to special requests and delicious food that never disappoints. We love Mere Bulles!
We were passing through the area and were looking for somewhere nice to have dinner. After looking at reviews, we decided to try Mere Bulles. We were happy we did! The setting is beautiful, the service was great and the food was delicious. Our only complaint was there were some bits of shells in our crab bisque. We were traveling through from New Orleans, where we had a lot of seafood dishes, including crab cakes, crab bisque, etc. We noticed the same thing at many of the restaurants that we ate at. I'm not sure why this is, but it seemed to be an issue at most of the restaurants where we had crab.
Went for New Years Eve. Slight wait to be seated. Service (Levi) was great. Even with busy night didn't wait too long for food. Slight wait for appetizer was eventually comped by manager. Food was exceptional. We do not live in the area but would stop again when in Nashville just to try other menu items. Phyllo Wrapped Sea Bass was great. Chocolate cake didn't disappoint. A little pricier than we're used to paying but no regrets.
I love when my husband and I go to Mere Bulles but this time my food was horrible. My husband enjoyed his Grouper but I ordered the Herb Chicken this time and it had absolutely no taste and the green beans were completely cold. Tyler was our waiter and he was wonderful and accommodating. It took an hour for us to get our meal so he served us a second bowl of she-crab bisque which was nice and he gave us a piece of cheesecake to go. I would have sent my chicken back but it had taken so long to get it in the first place I didn’t want to reorder a new dish. I was so upset my husband had to pay the enormous bill when I didn’t even eat. He had to stop to get me something else on the way home. I normally love eating at Mere Bulles but this time was really bad. I’m going to tell myself it was because of The fact it was New Year Eve and they were extremely busy. I’m sure we will eat there again but I will for sure never eat the chicken again.
Consistently great food with superb service. We had the Grouper special and a beef filet and both were cooked perfect and very flavorful. The side dishes were just as good! One of the managers gave us a complimentary glass of champagne which set the tone and mood for a delightful evening. Could not have had a better New Year's Eve dinner and experience. Kudos to a great restaurant and staff!!
David, our waiter, didn't introduce himself, we had to ask his name. He was unfamiliar with offering fresh ground pepper with Caesar salads, and did not offer us bread until after we had inquired towards the end of our meal. He checked on us fairly frequently, but only asked how does everything taste, and didn't ask if we needed anything else. He was slow in getting our check ready. Servers brought out our entree before we had finished our salads, which is unusual for Mere Bulles, like they were rushing us, and it was not very crowded for our sitting at 5PM. Table 52 where we enjoy sitting seems like it is a training table for new employees/servers recently for our reservations. Next time we will ask for Vernon.
This has been a special place for us for a very long time; when they were still downtown Nashville. It was our Anniversary place. We now leave 30 more minutes farther than we did before. But still worth the trip for special occasions. We will keep going and also tell others to go as well.
We were at Mere Bulles for our family Christmas Eve dinner, which has been our family tradition for the last four years because the food, service and ambiance are wonderful. This year it was a Buffett, and the food and service were excellent, as always, but it was extremely crowded this year, and we had to wait 30 mins. past our reservation time, which has never happened. We were seated upstairs, which was cozy and beautiful. Unfortunately, since the buffet was downstairs, we had to walk upstairs or take the elevator with our full plates of food, and both of these passageways lead right through the lobby, which was full of families waiting to be seated. People were starring at our plates as we walked through, so it was a somewhat awkward and uncomfortable experience.
Overall good experience. We had eaten here last year on Christmas Eve and had a wonderful meal, great service and overall fantastic experience. We were disappointed that it was a buffet. We were not notified ahead and had no idea until we arrived. It was difficult to move around with the amount of people and layout of restaurant.
We love Mere Bulles but terribly disappointed in their Christmas Eve buffet. We ate here last year and loved it, they had the full menu. We were not aware buffet was only option. It was crowded and awkward around the buffet with everyone in line. Will not go back for Christmas Eve which is a shame because it is decorated very nice at Christmas and it is normally a favorite for us.
Waiter messed up order. Food was not brought out together. One waited 15 minutes for correct entree. I order sea bass in phyllo... very little sea bass on soupy bed of canned tomatoes and artichokes. To their credit, they comped the one meal but I’d expect better of this restaurant.
Had a very enjoyable lunch with a friend. It was noisier than I would prefer, but nice just the same. I had forgot to tell the waiter to leave onions off my salad, but when I told him that upon arrival of my salad, he insisted on taking it away and preparing a new one. Very unnecessary, but appreciated just the same. The shecrab bisque was delish and highly recommended. Overall, very nice lunch and will return.
