Mere Bulles Ratings and Reviews
Disappointing first experience here. The food was fine, not outstanding. Service was abysmal especially since our waiter was so cocky. Had to ask several times for orange juice, my husband ended up going to the bar to order and brought it back, we had to ask a different waiter to please clear our dirty plates. Our server was always within 5-10 feet from us...just more interested in changing table linen and chatting about eating the food himself. For $25/person you can get a much better brunch at Sinema.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary by dining at Mere Bulles. The waiter was excellent and knew the menu very well. The room was relatively quiet and romantic with candles.
The food was good but not great. My steak was a good choice of meat but seasoning was lacking. My wife chose salmon, which was average. The taste was not bad, but just nothing special. Presentation could have been better as well.
All said, it was a good meal and very enjoyable. I was just hoping for a little more for that anniversary dinner.
Food was great but this place is so loud, well we're they place us a couple. Couldn't hear each other talk. Bartender never got dates drink right..finally gave up after three attempts. If I eat here again I will ask for somewhere quite. I don't know why they put anyone in patio room except Big parties. Like sitting on a jet runway.
There for dinner. Old mansion very charming. Waiter Patrick was excellent. Regularly checked on us. Knew menu and his wines. Manger stopped by to see if all ok. Other waiters stopped to offer water, take a dish, etc. Full menu was so good hard to pick from. Ahi Tuna appetizer excellent. Haven't had it that good since Roy's in Pebble Beach. Main courses were perfect. Had a half price for any bottle special (we took Duckhorn). Unique dessert...a 3 flavor sampling of crème brulee. Looking forward to going back to try lunch.
The seating was awful. It was Valentines day and our table was ‘fit in’ a doorway and waiters and other people kept squeezing by us and buzzing around , I felt like I was in a cafeteria. The server was great and the food was great but I was uncomfortable the whole evening because of the table placement
My husband took me there for a date on Valentine’s day and we are very happy with our choice! Loved the place, our waiter was friendly but very professional, the food came fast and was yummy (though they do seem to cook without salt)! We really enjoyed our quiet, romantic evening and we are looking forward to go back one day :)
We went to Mere Bulles for our "Valentine's" date the Saturday before Valentine's Day. We ordered the artisan cheese plate as an appetizer and it was great. I almost couldn't tear myself away from it to save room for our meal. I ordered two cocktails, the first I do not remember the name of but it had sparkling wine mixed with fresh strawberry juice and a sugared rim. It was wonderful. The second was the Shimmering Palomino, which has fresh lemon and orange and was sour but right up my alley. I ordered the scallops with risotto and they were absolutely perfect. My husband ordered the ribeye and he was very pleased with the way it was cooked (he likes well-done and restaurants rarely get it right). We ordered the bananas foster cheesecake for dessert and the caramel sauce was delicious. Our service was impeccable. I have zero negative things to say. We'll be back!
We have dined at Mere Bulles several times and it is our favorite go to place for out of town visitors. The service is excellent and the food is better than any other restaurant in the Nashville area. We will continue to keep Mere Bulles on our restaurant advisory list. The classic she crab soup is the best ever. Better even the in Charleston or the Carolinas. This restaurant is great for social gatherings and celebrations as well not too loud but it is still vibrant with activity.
Had a reservation through open table, was taken Upstairs to other rooms. Was seated in a room with 4 tables and nobody else in there. First time ever going. The room had NO windows so you couldn't even look outside! The time we went was for 6:45. The downstairs was Not filled up and that was where the atmosphere of the restaurant was. After about 10 minutes of sitting by ourselves, an older couple that frequents the restaurant was seated. The server Bill was GREAT! The food was very good and priced on par with other places of same style and elegance. We were dressed very nice for the dinner, wife in a nice dress and me in a nice suit. If you have never been i suggest you ask to be seated downstairs if you want a feel for the restaurant, otherwise if you get seated upstairs be prepared to stare at walls with no windows. We will go back again due to the food and the staff was very good, but will make sure that we get seated DOWNSTAIRS or we just leave.
The food was amazing, there was nothing at my table that anyone order that there was something to complain about! The price for portion size and quality is fantastic. The 1/2 bottles of wine are also a major plus. Our waiter was fantastic and gave us the history of the building as well. Cannot wait to visit again!
Excellent venue for just about everything. Not inexpensive, but the food is worth it. Great ambiance, many servers who have been there for years, and to top it off a working fireplace.
Absolutely one of my favorites in Brentwood - and worth the drive from anywhere in Middle TN
