Mercury Chophouse Ratings and Reviews
Service was soooo slow and they weren't busy. Sat for almost 20 minutes when a waiter came to take drink order and we had to ask for wine list. Aother 20 min we finally got some of our drinks and then he asked if we were ready to order. We had to remind him we never got menus. Entire time there was just over 2 hours and we didn't even order appetizers or dessert.
Felt safer than ever because most of the customers were police. Turned out Mercury has a 7 year old tradition of serving dinner to police who have to work on Thanksgiving and Christmas. By the numbers they serve 240 dinners and deliver another 70 to the station.
Service was charming and timely. Food was pricey, but just right for both fish and steak. Wine list was overpriced with a few items more reasonable.
We went there for Thanksgiving Dinner. I had indicated I had a gluten allergy which they never addressed from my reservation. The meal was not what was advertised. No cranberry walnut salad just a regular green salad. Main course came and was OK. I had to send mine back because they put gravy on it after I ordered it without gravy. Then had to ask for the ham sauce and cranberry sauce. My husband had finished half his meal before I got mine. They advertised pecan and pumpkin pie but had neither. Chocolate cake and peach cobbler. They did bring me a bowl of berries. I had to ask for whipped cream. Nice restaurant but not pleased with their lack of attention and blasé service. Probably won’t go back. Very disappointed in this expensive holiday meal which was done so poorly
Drove around the restaurant twice looking for the valet guys, nobody was outside on a Friday night. Parked down the block in a parking lot that required validation. Thought the restaurant would validate, they didn’t, ended up paying $20 for parking. Food menu was dirty from people’s hands and also had a tear in the page. Desert menu was even dirtier. Food was ok. Extremely overpriced. If I’m going to pay $200 dollars for a meal then I’m going to go to The Capital Grill or Eddie V’s where I know the food is great and the place is impeccable. Won’t be back.
The service was amazing.... we literally made a reservation at 5:58pm on open table for a party of 8 for 6:15pm on a Saturday night. Not only was our table ready at 6:10pm, we were sat immediately. The server knew we were in a hurry to catch a movie so our service was quick and on point! The food was excellent.
Food was very good, the service was poor. The waiter was inattentive and disconnected from our group. Salads came out - forgot the dressing; dinner came out forgot the sides. We were a table of 4 and we were ordering sides, which by the way the waiter said was served “family style”. The asparagus came out - 5 pieces for 4 of us. We we we expecting much different and if we had been advised, order a second side of asparagus. We ordered dessert and coffee. Dessert was served and the coffee... well let’s just say it finally got there. They had the brew a new pot but the waiter never said anything. Not going back anytime soon
Overall our dinner with friends was excellent. Mike our waiter was very knowledgeable and his attention was spot on. The food was perfect and timely. My only negative was it was difficult to find s the corner for entrance was dark and the valet was very hard to see for parking. Otherwise a perfect evening !!
We did not have a good experience this time. We told our server immediately that we had tickets to a show, but service was still slow and it took a very long time to get our food. We both ordered Tuna and it did not arrive until 5 minutes before we needed to leave, despite putting in our order in well enough time to have received it much sooner. We both found the tuna "fishy" tasting. We eat tuna a lot, and had to send our tuna back. We left, having had only drinks and side salads. The manager did not even come over to speak with us.
First time at Mercury Chop House. The dinner was fine, not great. My steak and my companions were good , but not of the quality you can get at other fine dining establishments in Fort Worth. The service was just ok and the food just Ok. Del Frisco's, Capital Grill, Eddie V's, and Bonnells are much better fine dining places. Mercury is not bad, just not impressive.
This was our first visit since the Chop House moved to its new location.....it is very different but quite lovely. The food was delicious.....salads crispy....steak tender and pork chop done perfectly. Desserts were yummy. Our server was extremely attentive.....and made the whole experience wonderful. We certainly will return.
I booked Mercury Chop for Restaurant Week and the menu looked good, the location nice, the pictures and description seemed real nice. It was all of those things, but my date had checked out the reviews which she said listed poor service but good food. Well when we arrived for our 7:30pm reservations there was about 6 groups mostly couples waiting to check in with the host nowhere to be found. When the host showed up he told everyone that it would be at least 30 mins because people were not leaving. We found seats at the bar and had a drink. There was nice live music in the bar that you could hear in the restaurant. At 30 mins, he had seated a couple of people, but still several couples ahead of us. Finally got seated about 45 mins after our reservation time. The waitress was very nice and said she knew we were waiting a long time. As I looked at the door, there must've been over a dozen people waiting for tables... and then no one. I assume they just left because of the wait esp at that late time. When the food came, it was good. Salads fresh, My date liked her salmon and my NY strip with cajun shrimp was nice, but not great. Wine pours were generous, dessert was tasty. Aside from the wait, it was a nice ambiance with live music and decent food. Altho' I kind of regret not booking a different restaurant, but checked out a restaurant neither of us had been to.
The food was good, but our waiter who seemed to be a mature, experience server didn't seem interested in our table at all. He rarely asked if there was anything we needed. More than once he was near our table, looked right at us, not say anything and then would walk away just when one of the four of us started to ask him something.
We went there to meet friends on a Friday evening because it was good location between our homes - Denton and Burleson. My wife and I arrived 30 minutes before our 7 PM Friday night dinner reservation and sat at the bar. The bartender was quite friendly and we enjoyed talking to him. He put two waters down to hold a place for our friends, but we didn't know they were running so late. It started getting crowded the closer to 7 and got noisy.
The other two in our party arrived right at 7 and we were seated. We ordered from the KRLD Restaurant Week menu. Our server was attentive at first, but later had too many tables to wait. We got our salads and five minutes later when we were well into eating them, she came by to ask if we wanted fresh ground pepper. The main entrée was very good, especially the meat - two got steak with shrimp in a sauce, two got pork chops. My wife commented it was probably the most tender pork chop she had ever eaten. We all had mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables, but the veggies were over-steamed and basically cold. Later, we had to catch our waitress to ask her for another round of drinks. Two of the three drinks were delivered reasonably fast, but we had to catch her again to ask where the third drink (wine) was. By the time it came out, we were basically ready for dessert.
Our only other compliant was that it was too noisy and was hard to carry on a conversation. You can call it "energetic" per the survey options above, but I prefer to call it LOUD. There is virtually nothing to absorb sound - cement floors, wood trim, windows on two sides and hard walls on the other two sides. A very good piano playing singer was on the other side of the restaurant, but we could still hear him "loud and clear".
Mercury Chop House was worth a try, but we probably won't make the 30 mile drive there again any time soon.
