Great food, reasonable wine selection and good service.
Our salads were just ok but the entree was superb!
Loved the atmosphere.
Service was attentive but a little distant.
Live music was wonderful! We will go back.
Owner went beyond call of duty to go to another restaurant to have our valet validated. We used a service not connected to his restaurant. Very appreciated!!!
Fish was great, ny strip no so. Overdone, gristle, toug
I took my wife here for an anniversary dinner, and was so glad I did. The ambiance was exactly what we were looking for, that staff ( especially Travis) was fantastic, and the food was delicious. We have paid substantially more for other dinners that were nowhere near this level of an experience. We will definitely be back.
Food was good, I had a reservation through open table, sat us right next to piano, once they started the music I couldn’t hear our tables conversations. I went there for parents weekend TCU. Good place if you don’t want to communicate with your kids. Service was good, just too loud, I wanted to enjoy a quiet evening with my wife and son.
Mercury Chop House was fantastic! Didn’t wait to be seated for our 7:30 Friday night reservation. Server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The risotto with lump crab was AMAZING.
First visit. I had a "tri fillet" that was three small fillet mignons with three different sauces. They were cooked a perfect medium rare, and the sauces were great. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. This is one of the few restaurants I've been to in a while that served really good fresh green beans -- not overcooked and mushy, but not so fashionably under cooked that they tasted like grass and took forever to chew.
Class! Great food. Thanks for being open all afternoon.
I have been here before, and unfortunately, this experience confirmed that despite a finer dining, higher price point, there are many other better options in Fort Worth than this one. From layout of the space, to quality of food and service, Mercury Chophouse does not measure up.
We love Mercury Chophouse, great food, excellent service and the best staff around.
The food was good but not outstanding. I did expect a little better but it was restaurant week and a limited menu and I know they were busy. I will try again though as the ambiance was very good and the wait staff were wonderful. They have a very cute bar so would be a great place to watch a sporting event.
I wanted to give MC a great review, but unfortunately I cannot. There was nothing terrible but there was nothing special either. Our server was partly attentive and partly inattentive. When he finally returned to the table, he smelled like cigarette smoke. The mac & cheese was my favorite thing that was ordered. My steak was, plainly put, not good. There were others at the table that enjoyed their food, so I want to mention that to be fair to MC's kitchen. I want so badly for MC to be successful downtown. The architecture is great, the live entertainment was nice, I just won't return unless there is a really great incentive.
Pleasantly surprised, since I head read multiple reviews with comments about poor service and poor value. Found service to be more than adequate if not quite polished, and food to be worth the price ( although was restaurant week). Steaks were properly cooked, sides delicious, and dessert great. Extensive wine list. Only real negative was the pianist/ singer. Poor guy was trying, but should just stick to playing and not attempting to sing.
We went for restaurant week and the food was amazing
Mercury Chophouse was awesome. Kalvin was amazing. He provided the best service and was so personable. The food was terrific. It was wonderful to celebrate our 28th anniversary at this dining establishment.
My husband and I went for our 16th wedding anniversary. We loved the ambiance and the quiet, conversation provoking atmosphere. Our server was not warm and engaging, however there were several other servers that we interacted with that were delightful!
Wonderful! Staff friendly and accommodating. Food is always excellent!
Went for our anniversary. Great menu, great service and surprisingly reasonable prices. We will be back!
We had never been here before, and a Groupon enticed us to try it out. I got the shrimp and grits, while my date got the bone in ribeye and a baked potato. We both had a wedge salad. My shrimp and grits were tasty, but for $30, I would have expected more or larger shrimp. The portion was pitiful. My date enjoyed his steak, but it was also more expensive than other high end steak places downtown, and not more spectacular. It was 7 PM on a Saturday night, and not many people were there. We had a reservation, but didn't need it. We were sat right away without being able to tell the host we even had a reservation.
Top notch service, excellent steak, piano in the bar, wonderful place!
Loved our waiter "Smiley". He was very informative and entertaining. We enjoyed our meal as well as the gravy ")
The restaurant is beautiful, but our server was
terrible. He wrote nothing down. He couldn’t remember who ordered what. Wrong cocktails and wrong appetizers.
All that aside, the thing that bothered is the most:
This was the third time we have gone to The Chophouse and ordered steaks and invariably
the waiter comes back 20 minutes later to tell us they don’t have that cut of meat. They have used the same excuse: The large party either upstairs or downstairs has taken the last of that particular steak. Very Frustrating!
Most likely we won’t go back.
It’s a shame, The Chophouse was one of our favorites!
Very unexpected and hidden restaurant. I was taken back of how awesome this place looks and the service was on point. Very family oriented, was greeted with smiles and open arms. Then the food came, the chef there knows food. Im a very lite eater, but ate every bite on my plate. The menu wasn't kid friendly but they did accommodate them which I loved. The kids were very pleased! The overall experience was GREAT!!! I would recommend trying this restaurant.
Great food and great piano music!!
No craft beers to offer. How is that possible with all the breweries out there now?
Always excellent food, great wine, and impeccable service. We just love coming downtown for a special dinner. Thanks for everything!
Service was great. Good delicious except salmon was over cooked. We had a 2 year old with us and our servers welcomed her. We were a little hesitant to bring her after reading a few reviews that felt the restaurant wasn’t kid friendly. Restaurant was very kid friendly.
service is best in the city! Food is consistently good, although not great. Price is reasonable. It's never crowded and therefore easy to get a table.
Last minute Birthday surprise planning turned perfect night. Excellent food, phenomenal service, great value for high end steak house. Thank you!
Service was not prepared for Mother's Day crowd. Food was fantastic but service was poor. Just very understaffed. We'll try it again to see if service is as good as the food before we recommend it to anyone.
Did not have our Open Table reservation...service slow and not attentive... dessert took :20 min to come out... half tables water empty when it finally did.
A little bit of a letdown. Also food not worth the cost.
The place wasn’t busy, but that didn’t take away from the excellent service, food and atmosphere. The lunch special petite steaks were prepared just as ordered, and were served hot. The food was delicious. Our server, Chrystal was prompt, patient and pleasant. I’m happy in choosing this restaurant for lunch and will be back again!
Well above what I expected. Food was flavorful and very satisfying.
Mercury often goes unnoticed (in my opinion) but it is one of the best chop houses in Fort Worth.
We are long time customers. Easter Sunday was a tad disappointing. The advertised special menu for Easter included prime rib. They opened at 11:00 am, and were scheduled to stay open until 10:00 pm. Our reservation was for 1:00pm. We arrived at 12:45. They were already out of prime rib when we got there--a serious disappointment to two thirds of our party. Also they have trimmed back their beer offerings: basically, they carry name brands from big American brewers (convenience store beers), and one regional IPA (although the IPA is on tap, for which, kudos). No NA beer (they used to have Kaliber from Guinness). Also, they added a $2 upcharge for substituting asparagus for the mixed vegetables that came with my entree. For that I received TWO stalks of asparagus. This place has always been pricey, but...really? All the food we had was good--not "Wow, that's spectacular," just really good. I know the complaints I've listed are fairly nit-pickey, but at $180 before tip for three people, only one of which was drinking (a single glass of wine), there shouldn't be anything to complain about.
It's gotten to the point that we have only been going to Mercury Chop House for special days like Easter. The past two or three visits, we have skipped the special menu and ordered from the regular menu--at greatly increased expense--because there was something about the set special menu that we didn't want. At this point, I think we may look elsewhere for a special occasion venue. It's not that there's anything terribly wrong with Mercury Chop House, it's just that there are other, more glitch-free and equal (or better) value places around with similar or better quality food.
I was planning to propose and concerned on time. I notified the restaurant beforehand and everyone from the valet, waitress, and cooks were great and instrumental in getting us in and out with great food and service! They made the night great.
Our small party of 6 selected this restaurant to dine before Bass Hall performance. Everything was excellent. The Server was great. Took notice of our time frame and delivered superbly. Highly recommend this restaurant
