What Insiders Are Saying
Mercato Stellina Pizzeria is the fancy pizza spot in Bellevue where you should have your next Eastside date.
I love this place - simple, well turned, pleasant, friendly
Great, relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seating inside or outside. We were hoping for more toppings and cheese on the pizza but the oval shape makes for a lot of crust.
It doesn't get much better than sidewalk seating on a warm summer evening with a bottle of Chardonnay chilling in a bucket, a deliciously refreshing salad with cucumber and melon and perfectly-crusted pizza with sweet copa and basil.
Fabulous, as always. Great, unobtrusive, but attentive service, loved every bite, from start to finish.
As always, this small intimate restaurant lived up to its reputation. It reminds us a European bistro with good food, wine and ambiance and we love coming here.
Best pizza ive ever had!
We went for a casual night out and wood fired pizza. We had a reservation. The manager greeted us, sat us, and took our wine order quickly. However it was 20 minutes after that before the waitress came to take our order although she had passed us several times. She was the only waitress for the whole restaurant that night. I don't know if that's normal or if there was a staffing problem that night, but it made for a less than enjoyable evening that night.
Pizza was good, but not exceptional. And be aware, a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill.
We have always loved Mercato Stellia and now that we live upstairs in 10000 Main we will most likely end up dining there or getting take out atleast once a week or more. The food and service are always spot on and we love the atmosphere. So happy to have this gem in our building! :)
I have been to this restaurant several times and it has been wonderful each time. Service is great and there is a personal touch that makes you feel like it is just your place. I travel for business in to Bellevue and make a point to stop in each time.
Gnocchi was awful (too dry with shriveled mushrooms) and way too overpriced. Service was not up to par with the added 20% gratuity, which we were not notified about until AFTER the bill came.
After going to manny other artisan Pizza restaurants around Seattle this one just doesn’t live up to their prices, food quality or service fee. On our visit, only one person who seemed to be helping the wait staff seemed knowledgeable or at all helpful. That however didn’t make up for: 1. Ridiculously overpriced and bland Cesar salad (6 small leaves of romaine for $13) where it was difficult to get the plates cleared 2. Pizza that took 30-Minutes to get to our table and we had to ask for plates 3. Several drink glasses that weren’t cleared for most of the meal 4. The automatic tip. I really appreciate the effort here to pay a staff well, however due to the lack of attentiveness, it wasn’t well earned and we won’t be going back.
Amazing as always.
Great as always!
A gem on Old Main Street - this place has managed to make pizza elegant, as well as creative in composition. Eat outside in good weather - bring your dog, bring your kids, bring your friends. Drink the house wine - good value as far as that is possible these days.
Fantastic as always! This little gem is a superb spot for gathering with friends, intimate sining for two or even a tame family night out. Gluten free or traditional flatbreads are unmatched alongwith tastey apps and farm fresh salads paired with perfect pours! So good!
Very disappointing. Caesar salad a joke. Pizza tasty but expensive for what you get. Service was average/below average and then they automatically added a 20% tip. We won’t be returning.
The pizza is wonderful. Drew is great. We love this place.
The gnocchi added to the menu was out of this world.
Another wonderful dinner. Thank you drew. So happy you had the meatballs this time. Can't wait for the peach pizza to come back. See you again soon.
We loved our time at Mercato Stellina. Our waiter made the whole experience from start to finish. He noted our date night in our reservation and reserved the cutest little table that was tucked away and provided such great service! We will be back for sure.
great food, great ambiance, great service. powerful combination on this neighborhood gem.
Drew always does a great job of making you feel welcome, they have a good yet affordable wine list, and the pizza is amongst the best in the area. It never disappoints!
Great food always. Pizza and service was awesome.
I believe his name is Drew, great job and really makes all feel special!
Charming place with friendly staff and delicious food.
ALWAYS welcoming, with excellent service, food, wine and ambience.
The restaurant was wonderful. Great service and The Prosciutto di Parma pizza was delicious!
Mercato Stellina was a very pleasant surprise - the picture on its website doesn’t really do it justice. It’s a tiny place inside, but the ambience is warm and cozy with lots of tea lights, and the servers were so friendly and made sure we were taken care of. But the food...
I’ve never had such excellent gnocchi! And the speck pizza we ordered was really honestly the best part; the items listed on the menu may not sound like they go together well, but trust us, they do. We ordered a large pizza and it went pretty quickly between the four of us, so if you have a group of 3+, consider ordering another pizza to share.
Thank you Mercato Stellina! We’ll be back :)
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pickled beets salad and the two pizzas we had were good as well.
Everything was outstanding. The special, meatballs, were seriously the best I've had at a restaurant and the pizza was amazing. I'm drooling at the thought.
Really relaxed venue with fantastic food, wine and service
Came here to celebrate a special occasion and noted that in the reservation notes. Even knowing that, the service was beyond terrible. Large tables that ordered after us were served before us. Restaurant offered complimentary appetizers to make up for delay and even those were not timely. Very poor experience ruined what should have been a lovely evening
Love the live music with the dad and two daughters
Menu is basically pizza and very limited appetizers and salads. All bready items primarily. Great pizza and smoked mozzarella but too bread heavy for my tastes. Great service and wine. I’d look at it as more of a wine bar.
Service the last few times at Mercato have been slow. Food is consistent.
Delicious experience from beginning to the sweet end! Go there!
We had the house antipasto to start. Ingredients were quality and fresh, and balanced each other nicely. We tried the house red/white, which were good. For pizza, we had the Funghi. The crust was a fantastic balance of crispy with a soft, chewy inside of perfect thickness. The toppings were also great, but the sausage was overwhelming. My partner enjoyed the spice, however, so it depends on your palate.
The service was also top-notch. What stood out was the host, who I'm assuming is the owner/manager. He was friendly and went out of his way to make sure the people at each table were enjoying themselves and had what they needed.
A couple unfortunate details:
- The pizza was mostly tear-able with your hands, but some parts could have been better separated with a knife. Two problems with this: the knives given were too dull and bendy to cut the crust, and the pizza is set on top a wood block, so you can't really apply pressure to the board underneath without tipping it over.
- Sitting outside had a nice atmosphere, but the sidewalk has an incline, which makes sitting in the chairs uncomfortable. Additionally, the chairs were thin metal without much support. If I wasn't careful, my butt would fall through the back. It was altogether uncomfortable.
- The price for what we got was a little high. Given the quality, it wasn't too upsetting, but the antipasto was ~$12 and the pizza ~$20. This wouldn't be that bad, but the portion sizes were small, considering the price. The sizes were perfect, appetite-wise, though, so it'd be nice if they could just lower the prices a bit, or at least work on the silverware and chair issues mentioned above.
The first two bullets are why I rated Ambiance as Poor. Besides these issues, the ambiance was actually very nice. The restaurant is small, but is clean and pleasing to the eye.
I'm crossing my fingers this place works out these small details, as it really was great food and I'm hoping they stick around for a while.
Fun place to eat. The service was wonderful and delicious food. You could tell that there were several repeat customers, which is always a good sign for a great restaurant.
It's one of our favorite spots for sure but something was a little off this time. Pizza that we always get just wasn't quite the same. Not sure if some ingredients changed. Service was a little slow too
The music was loud. We avoided the worst of the noise by sitting in the booth by the kitchen--otherwise we might have had trouble conversing.
