Mercato BYOB is a festive and modern Italian eatery that lets you bring your own drinks. A simple and to the point menu focuses on quality over quantity and features items like ricotta raviolo and a spicy crab bucatini with squid ink pasta.
The artisan cheeses and house-cured meats at Mercato BYOB are perfect for sharing and are paired with sauces and condiments like agrodolce and pickled white grapes. A whole grilled artichoke appetizer will undoubtedly turn you into the vegetable's biggest fan. Heavier dishes, like the Grilled Hanger Steak with yukon gold potato wedge, are equally impressive. Mercato BYOB opens at 5 p.m. The restaurant has a four course tasting menu that is ideal for groups.

Mercato Ratings and Reviews
The butternut squash gnudi was really delicious. We also had a cauliflower appetizer that was yummy. Everyone enjoyed their dinner choices. The service was very attentive. Very good experience. We were going to a show at the Kimmel, and had plenty of time for the short walk there.
Loved that we could bring our own wine to make this a very affordable option. My wife and I got the $54 pp tasting menu. The food was excellent from the roasted vegetables, olives, and burrata to the chef-selected desserts. the signature dish -- pyramid pasta -- was ethereal.
It had been years since I had been to Mercato.I don't know whether it is a good or bad thing that old stand bys like the pyramid pasta and grilled artichoke are still on the menu. That said we had a very good meal, ordering the 4 courses for $54. A highlight was the shared antipasto board. Delicious burrata, grilled veggies, spicey olives, and more. Appetizers were good but not flawless. Mussels, large but very tasty, maybe a little too much fennel. Artichoke could be a real winner if they could figure out how to make it more tender. Maybe grill just the hearts. Octopus tennacle would not be everyone's cup of tea but many would love it. Mains of pork chop, veal saltimbucca and hanger steak were all good. Did not like the sauce on the steak as it too hinted of fennel and took away from the beefy taste. Starting to dislike this flavor as it seems so many restaurants are now flavoring with fennel. The 3 different, excellent desserts, tiramisu, apple tart with ice cream and nutella cannolli were another highlight of the meal. This meal was a very good value and with BYOB , I would certainly go back again.
I've been meaning to try this spot for a while based on positive anecdotes, and my fiance's birthday finally provided an opportunity. We were both thrilled. It was clean, quiet, and charming inside (even though a block party raged on outside).
We both had pasta dishes, which I am sometimes disappointed by since it's fairly easy to make pasta at home, but these were both distinctive, delicious, and filling enough that neither of us had room for dessert. Definitely recommended.
Staff were a little stand offish when we arrived and I thought, "uh oh" since customer service is a big deal to me. But I think maybe they were just a little busy when we arrived because after we were seated the service was nothing but wonderful. Food is AMAZING. The Pyramid Pasta and the Spicy Crab Squid Ink Pasta were both phenomenal, as was the cheese board. Also love that this is a BYO.
My sister was in town visiting so we went to Mercato for dinner. The service was terrific, we sat outside, our meals were phenomenal. Be sure to try the pyramid pasta and the short ribs Ragu. And don't forget the tiramisu for dessert. Bring a great bottle of wine as it is BYOB. Can't wait to go back.
Due to unforeseen rain they made some people with reservations wait a bit to be seated, but they wound up getting us to a table within minutes. We went for restaurant week and the food was excellent. Best gnocchi I ever had and very generous portions! The place is small so reservations are a good idea. BYOB + cash only!
I'm a regular dining person there but I didn't like there restaurant week menu the swordfish was bland and the dessert was not very good the cannoli shell was hard the meatballs were tasty but were hard I would go back again just not for restaurant week unless I tried something else 🙁
