The artisan cheeses and house-cured meats at Mercato BYOB are perfect for sharing and are paired with sauces and condiments like agrodolce and pickled white grapes. A whole grilled artichoke appetizer will undoubtedly turn you into the vegetable's biggest fan. Heavier dishes, like the Grilled Hanger Steak with yukon gold potato wedge, are equally impressive. Mercato BYOB opens at 4 p.m. The restaurant has a four course tasting menu that is ideal for groups.

Everything was delicious!
Chef Anthony is amazing! Our meal of clam toast, crab fra diavlo, and grilled swordfish was sublime. We had the delicious blueberry cheesecake and pana cotta topped with strawberries for dessert. The service was terrific and the dining room was super comfortable, clean, and felt safe with the front glass fully open. All of the outdoor seating was filled to capacity. My first dining experience since Covid started and Mercato BYOB was worth the wait!!
This was my first time at Mercado and the food was amazing.
Food and service was great but indoors was very noisy.
Outstanding food. Great atmosphere.
I love this place!
Simply the best BYO in Philly and one of the best restaurants overall. Consistently knocks every dish out of the park, and it has a very great atmosphere. The menu changes, but they do really classic-yet-inventive pastas and have the best tiramisu on the planet.
Great food, wonderful service and really nice people, pretty place. Thank you!!!
The staff are so friendly and wonderful. We go here all the time and they have gotten to know us and couldn’t be kinder. The food is always fresh and delicious. Cant recommend it enough, it’s definitely one of the best BYOBs in the city.
This continues to be one of my favorites. The food and service never ceases to be top notch. One of the best chefs in Philadelphia and maybe the best. Never a disappointment.
A+ would Mercato again. Great service, delish.
Service, food, ambiance and crowd were great—am coming back soon!
Our best meal there to date.
Good food at this Center City staple. And even better, now, they FINALLY have commenced accepting credit cards !
Short ribs were more like pot roast, but everything else was very good.
Very pleased with the dining experience.
Initially, I made a reservation for outdoor dining, but it was a rather warm, humid evening & my guest preferred indoor dining. The change was easily accommodated. My guest, who follows a vegetarian/quasi-vegan diet did not find an acceptable entree on the menu, but the staff accommodated with a special entree made for her - I was impressed.
Enjoyed all the food. Services were attentive and the vibe of the place is cool + BYOB. Only drawback was that the kitchen was very slow the night we went. Not sure if that’s common or was just a bad night, but it soured an otherwise positive experience.
Everything was great from the greeting at the door to the service. A definite go back!
We had the Burrata Toast and stuffed artichoke to start and our entrees were the short rib (excellent) and the campanella pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage (very tasty). It was a happy, very comfortable night out.
Thank you to the staff!!
Staff was friendly. Service was slow due to there being another large party there at the same time. We were very underwhelmed by the food. The sauces were bold but lacked depth. The clam toast was nice. The first bite of the artichoke was good and then you realize it’s just a load of parm on a vegetable and the dipping sauce was mediocre too. The pyramid pasta was just “fine”, but lobster was chewy. Overall, we wish we had gone somewhere else.
Great dinner out with my girlfriend.
Food was fresh and delicious.
Love the BYO aspect with NO corkage fee.
I go to Mercato at least twice a month, perfect date night spot. Our meals are always amazing and the waiters could not be nicer!
We had an excellent meal and great service… It is always a wonderful experience at Mercato.
Mercato never fails to disappoint! From apps to dessert and everything in between, so delicious! Love them
Such a great little Italian restaurant in a nice neighborhood. The food and service was amazing and the portions were large for the price which I loved! Certainly will be going back again.
We have eaten there so many times and I can only say that we have never experienced a bad meal. Anthony (the chef) and his assistants are marvelous. The wait staff is very attentive. Try it, you'll love it.
Delicious food & wonderful service!
Food was just ok. Our garlic bread was delivered after we finished dinner. Menu pretty limited.
So happy to go back!
Did and service was excellent.
Mercato is a cute little BYOB spot. Great for a small group of friends.
My fiancé and I ate outside at Mercato for restaurant week. We overall enjoyed the atmosphere and dining experience. The only complaints that we had was that our appetizers were cold and the artichoke was burnt which made it impossible to eat. We would try again but not during restaurant week.
Food was fantastic. The service as always is excellent. Even sitting outside on a sidewalk in center city was a pleasure.
Portion sizes were big, food was excellent and I love the ambiance of the place! A little noisy in there but honestly that just shows that it’s a good place to me because of the amount of people in there :)
Our millennial friends had spoken highly of Mercato so we thought to give it a try during Center City Restaurant Week (we are seniors). Mercato's food was good but the overall ambiance and service was so-so.
We had to finally flag down our server to get our wine glasses after 10 minutes of waiting (Mercato is a BYOB). Perhaps the servers were just getting their scattered mojo back since the pandemic, don't know.
Also, the inside ambiance of Mercato left much to be desired. Right in the center of the main inside dining room was a utilitarian work table for the help with papers, paper towels and markers scattered about, very sloppy, and not something I wanted to look out while "fine dining."
Bottom Line: food was fine but service was rocky and ambiance was a zero.
We went to this restaurant for restaurant week. We had to return one dish because the pasta was very hard and could not be eaten. Chicken we ordered was terribly overcooked. I would not recommend it.
Food was very good. Got to try a couple new things. Ate inside but back door was open. Temperature was comfortable but alot of bugs kept flying around me. That's why I ate inside-to avoid bugs!!!
Liked the appetizers, entree was not a favor for either of us. Desert was good. Area has minimal parking, the walk was nice and soothing. Lovely area, trees and olde building designs
We dined at Mercato during restaurant week and had a lovely experience. Very tasty food with a nice outdoor atmosphere. Loved our entrees and the desserts were tasty as well. Would definitely go back!
Had a very good meal at Mercato. It was restaurant week which I typically do not like but this proved to be different. We ate inside despite the fantastic weather so there was only one other table. However we were against the open windows so it was quite pleasant. Food was great as always. We shared a Burrata/prosciutto/bread board which was excellent. The Salmon putanesca was great. Orecchiette with broccoli rabe & sausage was good. Panna cotta was to die for and Tierra missou was very good.
We will be back.
Food was fantastic, service was awesome, an overall great experience! Will be back for sure ☺️
