Enjoyed a late lunch T Mercat on a recent Sunday afternoon. We dined on the patio and enjoyed the ambience. The food was not heavy at all. I had the salad nicoise and the house cocktail. Enjoyed both very much.
What a wonderful experience. First of all the food is toos in Dallas. The waiter was knowledgeable and attending but not TOO attending. The host was so amenable. Asked to hang up my hat. When we asked him for directions to the American Airlines Center he walked us outside and pointed to the street we needed to turn right on. He didn't have to do that. I recommend this restaurant because customer service is #1 as well as the food!
Our second visit here and once again we had a lovely lunch. The food, especially the quiche Lorraine and chicken tortilla soup, was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Food is awesome and in a very relaxed and comfortable setting. Friendly staff. Only one suggestion, waiters should ask if the diner is finished before removing cocktail glass or plate. small issue but important. Otherwise good service.
Everything was great with the exception of the bathroom. There is only one single use bathroom and often a line. Also, the water gets extremely hot, so watch out! Food and service is fantastic!
We brought my mom and my sister for mother’s day brunch. The host and the waiter were very friendly. Food arrived pretty fast even though the place was packed full. Overall a great experience.
As always it was a great experience. Food is amazing and the waiters are very friendly, great service!!
Mercat is one of our favorite restaurants in Dallas. We love all the Hardwood Restaurants. In fact we’re going to have a rehearsal dinner at Marie Gabrielle on 31 May this year. I’m from Dallas and I love all the ways that the Hardwood company continues to help Dallas grow into this incredible city through it’s restaurants in buildings.
Was a busy day for Mercat. It was very clear they had been slammed all morning and were out of a lot of things by the time we started ordering. They might have been a little understaffed for the turnout. However, the food did not disappoint! Mercat is still one of my favorite Dallas spots!
Great atmosphere, prompt service, would recommend to others!
Love this place for a morning brunch. The beautiful weather was an added plus. The wait staff was wonderful and the food was next level on taste and presentation. Definitely worth it.
An informal setting with excellent food. American as well as French choices. Friendly service but on busy days it may be bit slow.
Cute French restaurant~ Great place to hangout or date night.
Mid week second string wait staff and chef. Service was very erratic.
We are sorry to hear that your experience with us was less than satisfactory. Thank you for your review of Mercat, and please join us again soon so we can show you how great we really are!
I have heard so many wonderful things about Merkat but we must have gone on an off night. Maybe someone didn't show up to work that night. The restaurant is beautiful and the menu looked amazing. Our waitress was very attentive but service was very slow...for drinks and food. 3 of our 5 were served their dinner plate but we waited for at least 5 minutes for the other 2. The escargot was very tough and the butter sauce was not good. I mean how can butter turn out bad? I ordered the chicken and it was so dry, I couldn't eat it. My husband thought his short rib was also very dry. I think we will try Merkat again, but not with guests.
We are so sorry to hear that you did not have a pleasing experience with us. Thank you so much for bringing these issues to our attention. Please be assured that the chef will address this immediately. We would love for you to join us again so that we can show you how great we really are!
Food and atmosphere on point for brunch!
Our server required a wake up call. We waited 15 minutes for him to take the drink order then another 15 for him to serve 2 of the 4 cocktails. I had to have a bit of a conversation about priorities with him at that point. The remaining 2 drinks were promptly served. Good news - he listened and responded. Bad news - at this price level a customer should not have to educate the server.
Way too loud due to obnoxious table that should have been told to keep it down. Food was mediocre—the filet au poivre did not have much flavor. Service was below par as wait staff would disappear for stretches.
Thank you for your review of Mercat. We are so sorry to hear that your experience was not a fantastic one, and we would love another chance to make it up to you!
Very loud inside but otherwise excellent food, excellent service, and great value for the quality you're getting.
Outstanding French cafe ambiance and excellent food! The foie gras was creamy and served with an amazing variety of flavors to bring out its unique taste. The filet was perfectly cooked, juicy and oh-so tender. Service was unobtrusive yet attentive. We will definitely eat here again.
So great! The ambiance is perfect - calm, serene, beautiful. The service is unparalleled and the good is even better, not to mention the drinks. Amazing.
Note: ask if there's a large party and ask to be seated elsewhere. There's little to absorb noise and a big party can make conversation impossible. Oysters were good but served with a minuscule cup of ketchup and no horseradish. Duck confit was a single, small leg, overcooked and ridiculously puny. Should have been an appetizer. Bread was brought halfway through meal. Mussels were plentiful and delish tho they serve with french fries (??) and a single piece of toast. Not the cuisine level of past experiences. 8:45 was earliest res we could get but other than a party of 18 next to us, only one other occupied table on the bar side.
Thank you for the review on our restaurant. Your feedback means a great deal to us. We apologize that you didn't have the experience you had hoped for, and we hope that you will join us again sometime so that we can show you how excellent we truly are.
Great for date night. Waitress stayed out of our hair and paid attention to the fact that we were not in a rush to order. It was pretty noisy which made it hard to hear the waitress. I loved the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant. We sat in a structurally beautiful room that was open to outside. Quaint outside seating available as well. And most importantly, the food was great!
Very nice bistro menu with varied selections. Reasonably priced. Beautiful outdoors seating.
Jorge, our server, made our visit very pleasant. He was friendly and yet professional. My colleague and I enjoyed speaking with him in Spanish. Also, the hostess, whose name escapes me, but who is from McAllen, TX, was also very welcoming. My friend and I both enjoyed the mussels as well as the crabcake. In all, it was an enjoyable lunch. Together or separately, we plan to return.
Mercat is one of our favorite places to go in the Dallas Area. I am never disappointed when I leave.
Tables were too small. Otherwise great.
Never disappoints - great food, friendly attentive service and great ambience- one of our favorites for dinner and brunch - highly recommend!
Love the waiter George!!! Amazing service. He’s warm, personable and engaging! The French toast, honey and ricotta platter and quiche are fabulous: rich and flavorful.
Management/hostesses could be more engaging, they don’t seem to care about customers compared to the hardworking wait staff.
Love everything about Mercat Bistro except the noise level. They are like all restaurants, sadly, that refuse to incorporate sound dampening acoustics into their design.
One of my favorite spots, but this night, the Steak Frites was over cooked, not near Medium rare. The pour of scotch straight up was itty bitty. We told the hostess about the steak, not intending to have it comped, but they did. That was nice, but mostly want the steak to be great again! What's happening in the kitchen? My French 75 was wonderful as usual. :)
Dear MichaelIT , Thank you for your valued feedback . We will share your comments with our Chef and we apologize for our standards have not been fulfilled at the time of your visit . WE hope to see you back soon .
Wonderful evening. Love the Pesche Mignon
Our second time here and one of our favorite spots when we come in to the city for an event. Great drinks and food, service is friendly, place is very European feeling and on a spring or fall night when the weather is great the patio and garden dining room are especially great.
Birthday pre-concert dinner! Awesome
Ambiance was very cool. Food was great. Would definitely go back!
Lovely atmosphere and attentive service. The ricotta and honey appetizer was delicious as were the profiteroles for dessert. However our entrees - the sole meunière and fillet - were not terribly memorable. The fillet came out undercooked (medium was requested and it came out closer to rare) and had to be sent back and the fish, while tasty, was overly salty. Otherwise a nice meal and our server was friendly and attentive.
Our waiter George was superb. Everything was great at brunch - from the food to the fun drinks (get the Péché Mignon !!) to the festive sparkler dessert for our birthday girl. We loved it and will be back again soon.
I just absolutely love this restaurant. It's like a little piece of France, you don't feel like you are in the middle of the city. The drink menu is always fresh, current and delicious. A few favorites on the menu are the French Onion soup, ricotta & honey w/baquette and the Coq au Vin. I've been here for date-night, pre-game (you can valet here and walk to AA Center) and just with my daughter. Highly recommend.
I had the ham and cheese omelette which was nothing special and had a rolled up piece of ham in the middle of the omelette with not a lot of cheese. My friend had the eggs Benedict and the muffin/bread was so hard that she could barely cut it with a knife. The hollandaise sauce was skimpy and nothing special. We will not be back for brunch. Expensive for a very average to mediocre meal.
Dear Susie , Thank you for sharing your opinion. We are sorry to read that we could not meet your taste with our gastronomic offer. We'll share your impressions with our Chef's team! We hope we can host you again in the future!
