Menotomy Grill & Tavern
Settled in 1635. The village was incorporated as the town of Arlington in 1867 following the civil
war as a tribute to Arlington National Cemetery.
Our vision for Menotomy Grill & Tavern is to bring the tavern concept back to the town of Arlington by creating a rustic grill capitalizing on the coziness of a brick house featuring fireplace, open kitchen,
exposed beams, large planked hard wood floors, and historical artifacts and photos. Fostering a
loyal following will be the key to our success, so we welcome you to join us on Facebook for news, special offers and exciting events.

Had a good sunday brunch after visiting Tufts. More than bar food. All entrees had an interesting twist and were very good. Good casual place, with nice setting and good food.
Nice place for casual dining. Interesting menu items and drink selection. Rustic atmosphere, but noisy.
We’ve never been disappointed! It’s always very good!
Good food. Service was very friendly. Nice place for dinner
Great food and great ambiance. Can’t wait to go back with my husband
Excellent service, good food, beautiful layout, but incredibly dim lighting- found it hard to see not only the menu, but the person sitting opposite was also not clearly illuminated, which was very odd, & distracted from the pleasure of dining.
Great place with a great brunch selection. Also has a great beer list.
It's a great neighborhood spot, always good and very cozy in the colder weather!
Always friendly, always good food, beautiful space. I'm there often.
If you want great live music and amazing food.. not to mention wonderful service, then head over to the Menotomy grill. Love it and know you will too.
First visit, and underwhelming. We should have looked around more at what other guests were eating. We ordered entrees, without apps. Strength of the place appears to be drinks, apps, salads/burgers. Entrees not so much. Clearly a popular place, but not a place we'll choose to visit again.
Took a long while to be served after ordering. Server said one entree was up while the other had just been fired, so first entree was kept under the warmers too long and dried out while the cioppino with very hot broth, warm shrimp and fish, tough clams. Beer was good. "Background music" was too loud during dinner for such a lively place. Ambient noise was OK, but music made it just loud.
Amazing service. We will be back.
Amazing service!! Food was good too but just good, not great or outstanding. I recommend the breakfast potatoes and the brownie sundea they were soooo good!
Good place for a family or friends meal out. Good food. Great service.
High Energy local bar/restaurant. Interesting menu - all in a group of 6 found something they liked. The crabcakes were okay - a bit too much on the potato but the pricing was appropriate. Great service. Would recommend.
Easy to find. Free parking. Good food reasonably priced.
We have dined here several times and always enjoyed it. The atmosphere is definitely casual. There were nineteen draft beers featured on the menu the night we were there, along with twenty-seven other beers in bottles and cans. The menu has more appetizers than entrees. In fact, the choice of entrees is rather limited. We started with an order of fried dill pickles. They were tasty and piping hot. I had the steak tips. They were delicious but, at $25.00, they weren't any bargain. They were accompanied by French fries dusted with parmesan cheese, and a "salad" which turned out to be some frilly lettuce on the same plate, tossed with what tasted like caesar dressing. My fries could have used more seasoning, but there were no salt or pepper shakers on any of the tables. The entrees do not come with bread or rolls. On a positive note, my wife thought her cheeseburger was delicious. The Menotomy Grill is a good 4-star restaurant. I suspect they get a lot of diners from the Hilton hotel next door. It's probably not a place you would pick for a special occasion.
Service. Great food. Great staff. Attention to allergies. Would recommend to everyone!!!
First visit. My dinner date and I really enjoyed ourselves. The gentleman at the door was very accommodating, offering a choice of tables (I took his good suggestion). The wine list and menu had a wide selection, and there were several nightly specials. Our food came quickly (but not too quickly) and was well prepared. The atmosphere was lively but not loud, allowing for conversation, and there was good music playing. Best of all, our server, Victoria, was friendly, efficient, attentive without being intrusive, and altogether charming. We were so comfortable that we unintentionally closed the restaurant...but no one made us feel anything but welcome. Thank you, Victoria, and everyone at Menotomy.
Love coming on Thursday nights for the music and fun, energetic atmosphere! 😁🎤💃🏻🎼
Excellent casual dining /sports bar. Had the NE clam chowder - which was outstanding - tasty and creamy. Steak tips & fries were excellent - very tasty and cooked as requested. My companion had her favorite muscles - which she enjoyed again - and an heirloom tomato salad which was "awesome!" We've eaten here 7-8 times and always enjoyed our meal. Highly recommended!
Great time and food. Our waiter, John S. was always there when we needed him but was never a bother. My wife and I had a nice afternoon date .
I have been to Menotomy several times, and always enjoy the experience. The cocktails are great and they have nice beer options as well. My girlfriend and I took my mother out to dinner. We had some allergies and the staff was great. For the second consecutive time, Jeff was our waiter and he's excellent. Adds humor to his deep voice and makes for a fun experience. We all had steak tips, 2 of us over the farro bowl. The farro bowl was a great and filling combination of veggies with farro topped with tahini. Great option with leftovers that made for a great lunch!
Host was friendly and welcoming. Service is challenging. Took awhile before we saw a server after we were seated. Servers dont smile and seem put out. Food is okay. Not as good as when they first opened. Musketballs were unidentifiable mush. Salad was over dressed. Good cocktail.
Great service and good food. Good selection. Nice cocktail menu. A few too many fried options but all tasty
This place is a gem. Food is great, service was very pleasant & attentive. Edna's potato stuffing and the Brussels sprouts with mustard & bacon alone are worth a visit.
Love the food, the atmosphere and the beer selection. Great owners, great service. A bit pricey.
The first time I have been there and very impressed. the food was good, the service excellent and the atmosphere was nice.
Food was average, but service was terrible. We had to seek out our server on multiple occasions - drink order took nearly 20 min, and another 20 before we could get food put in. Couldn't even find her to pay our bill, so handed it to another employee so we could leave. Pretty disappointing.
My brother's birthday. We had fun … the food was good, the waiter was super. Too noisy, even for us.
The Menotomy is awesome! The menu is creative and the food is delicious. Love the Thursday night blues here. Keep up the great work!
Food was not great, ee felt rushed. Expensive for what it was
Wait staff was great. Ambiance was great and food was delicious.
The food was fabulous, and the service was efficient. Only downside was when the band started, the whole restaurant was loud and you couldn't hold a conversation anymore.
Service was sub par. Food was mediocre. Avoid the cod cakes (potatoes, minimal cod). Bar afterwards was a much better experience.
Great neighborhood type place. Tried the salmon burger (which I have never been a fan of) and theirs was delicious. Will definitely go again.
This place is a treasure for the best music in the area most Thursdays. World class musicians Duke Robillard, Dennis Brennen, Tim Gearan, Duke Levine and many more. This time Dave Mattacks ( Fairport, Richard Thompson), the incredible slide guitarist Dave Brown ( Billy Joel , Simon and Garfunkel). Foods great , fantastic beer list) love the waitstaff n manager...
Menotomy's best asset is its location at the border of Cambridge and Arlington. I've been to Mentomy a few times for lunches and dinners. This was the first time I've been on the patio, which helped avoid the noise of the dinner area during a busy time (Friday night). If I'd change anything, it'd be the high cost of a burger well beyond Boston's metro area. If you're seeking food worth the cost in a similar area, I prefer Gran Gusto.
We had a reservation and we were sat immediately. Great waitress - got drinks in just a few minutes. We had the cod cakes and a chicken BLT. Both were just the way we ordered. It was Saturday night and hopping, so pretty busy and a bit loud, but food and service were very good. Would return, perhaps on a quieter night.
Our fish dinner was not cooked.
