Melt Ratings and Reviews
Gorgeous place - I’ve had a number of good business lunches at Melt, but tonight was a different story. Service was well-meaning so bad it was comical. The menu is great but the food was not - gummy pasta, salty chicken — very disappointing . Please do more training for your staff and make sure that the kitchen works as well on a Sunday night as it does on a weekday.
This was our first time at Melt. The service was excellent, there were many menu choices so everyone's dietary needs could be met. we all enjoyed our meals, the portion size was more than adequate. We could hear each other speak so not too much background noise.
We went for my 30th birthday and the food was fantastic. The server didn’t know the menu and was rather absentee, but sweet. We did find it odd that on the bill it listed a “complimentary cheesecake” as a $10 charge. I mean, not the kind of place you get nit-picky with the bill, just found that funny.
Food was good, although the old menu is sorely missed (seriously, new menu is more like Cheesecake Factory for twice the price). Service was ludicrously bad. We were basically tossed into a dark corner and forgotten for two hours on a Saturday night when the place was far from packed.
We were accommodated with friendly and professional reception. We made a reservation for four but changed to six at the last minute. Our waiter was very good. He was attentive and very cordial and friendly. Every one in our group ordered something different, and all were very delicious. Then after our meal, we hung out in the lobby to take a few group selfies. The hostess stepped in and offered to help by taking a few photos.
Thanks to all the employees here who made our meal very special.
We had a nice dinner. Party of three with pre meal drinks and a bottle of wine during dinner, I think we spent about $230 bucks including the tip. Food is good, pasta is my fav there. The portion sizes are generous, bread is good. All in all it was a great night with my son and his fiancee.
The only thing that is moderately irritating is the valet parking. Melt is on a corner where you have to drive into the shops and they (or the company they have doing it) cone off about 20 spaces right outside of the restaurant. If you pull into the lot and someone is using valet parking its kind of hazardous crossing the street to get into the place. Its to congested to do it where they have it set up. The young kids that are parking the cars (all on their cell phones standing around) have to drive your car about 10 feet in order to park it. Why not have a real valet system and have them park the cars over behind the theaters and let these guys trot out to get the cars and leave the close spots to the shoppers. Its really kind of silly, its dangerous and looks stupid. Melt should scrap the valet parking.
Melt is a good restaurant with nice ambiance. The dining tables are large enough, which isn't always the case where I live in NYC. The food was very good, but not memorable. I had a prime rib and my guest had a bouillabaisse and pasta. The service was excellent. The wine list is quite good and reasonably priced. A bottle of Oakville Cabernet did the trick. I would suggest Melt invest in some new menu's. It may seem like a minor issue but I've seen local, family type restaurants with better looking menu's. They are cheap in appearance and not particularly clean.
We had loved Melt but the past three visit have been hugely disappointing. This last visit will now be our LAST visit. Too many issue to review them all. Not worth my time or this space. A darn shame as this had been one of our favorites. You could get lucky and order the right item on the right day with the right cook and server. We have missed on all counts this visit. Perhaps if enough people who are annoyed with any aspect of their visit to Melt would tell the manager these problem could be resolved and Melt could reclaim a desirable status. Good luck.
Melt is a warm and welcoming place. Our waitress, Natalie, was a professional in her welcoming presence, her knowledge of entrees and cocktails, and her helpfulness with suggestions. Her sense of timing, of serving, of caring for our preferences was superb and made a fine dining evening even nicer. Our dinners were served hot, even for outdoor service. The scallops were delicious as she had promised, and my wife was again pleased with her salmon and salad. The outdoor temperature was delightful, and we give Natalie and the restaurant credit for that as well!
Many thanks to the hostess for seating us at our preferred table outside. It does make a difference, and we thank her for her thoughtfulness and kindness.
Definitely a beautiful spot for a date night. We even saw an engagement while we were there! It is pricey... and we felt that they tried too hard with the food. My lobster ravioli was drenched in Gorgonzola. The first couple bites were incredible; then it was way too rich. My husband had the rib eye and the sherry glaze was a bit pungent as well... to boot, they had more Gorgonzola on his potatoes!
This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend who lives in the Allentown area. It's pricey but my wife, a good friend and I were celebrating retiree life. He warned me about the cost of dining at this establishment.
The saving grace of this place - a very reasonable Pre Fixe menu. Such a deal! Lots and lots of good food.
The notable downside - happy hour prices did not meet our expectations. Most places we go to have much bigger discounts on their already sky-high prices during Happy Hour. Melt dropped their exorbitant wine prices by a buck. Really?
Looking forward to a new menu at Melt and found nothing new added in the selections. The best items were the deserts. The Apple crumb cake was terrific: Hot , bubbly, and filled with great flavor. The Pannecotta was light , fluffy and delicious. On the other hand the panini sandwich had a pickle that was overwhelming the sandwich, the meat was skimpy, but the cheese was great. The crab cake was definitely not worth the cost. It had a lot of extras on the bun (lettuce, tomato, some type of spread ) but the crab cake itself was not filled with a lot of crab. The waitress was attentive and focused on what she could do to make our time pleasant. She refilled drinks constantly and did above and beyond. Overall it was not the exciting time we had anticipated
What a beautiful Restaurant. Very accommodating as we ran late. The food was absolutely fabulous. Our waitress Emily was beyond excellent. I would definitely go back again. I had the Rack of Lamb which was to die for and my boyfriend had the chicken parmigiano which was like none we've ever tasted. Great time..enjoyed it very much.
Server was very good and suggested a drink for my wife and an entree for me, the valdostana di maiale was great. Wait times for a little long, we waited about 10 mins to be greeted and get waters/bread. Waited quite a bit for appetizers as well, and then waited for the check as well. Food was very good but we were there for nearly 2 hours.
