About Melrose Grill
Renton’s Finest Foods Since 1901! * Steakhouse voted #1 Western WA 2010 & 2014 * Historic Landmark in Renton
The building in which the Melrose Grill resides was established in 1901 and has served as a tavern since the days of the horse and buggy. It also operated as a pool hall, soda shop and card room during Prohibition. Recently restored, Melrose Grill kept its historic roots with the original mirror-backed bar with its rich, dark woods. The walls showcase vintage photos that highlight the transitions this grand building has gone through. With wainscoting on the walls, low-slung lamps and high ceilings the space feels as open as the West was when it was built. The Food and Service at Melrose Grill will amaze and delight your senses. We work hard to provide our customers with the finest foods available, and prepare them in a way that will tame even most particular palate. Voted #1 Steakhouse in Western WA by King 5 & Evening Ma.

Melrose Grill Ratings and Reviews
The food and service are awesome at the Grill. Two things to note...a large party was sitting next to a table for two and they were extremely loud. May not be the fault of the restaurants, but a friendly reminder that other people are dining too may be in order.
Also the table for two we were sitting in is right by the front door and it's very cold when the door opens and closes.
Aside from that - I love this restaurant!
We tried the Delmonico and bison ribeye, I must say my delmonico was cooked to my perfection. I also ordered their pecan creme brulee and it was good too. This is worth the drive from Spanaway:) will definitely go more often with friends next to time. I tried their cranberry margarita and it too was delicious.
My girlfriend and I came to celebrate a job change. The steaks were every bit as good as more expensive steak houses. Impressive bourbon list, they had Pappy Van Winkle 20 year, which was a nice surprise. Nice wait staff, quick service, nice restaurant but not over the top. Retains it's old charm. Definitely worth the time to dine here. Reservations can be tough to come by, keep in mind.
We had reservations at 9:15pm and were seated promptly. Our server Vanessa was very pleasant and attentive. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The Balsamic vinaigrette was amazing on our salad. The steaks, Rib Eye and Delmonico were the best we had ever eaten! Even the simply grilled chicken was delicious! It was our first visit and definitely won’t be our last!
I like this restaurant but I wish that they would vary their menu. I have had everything there that appeals to me and they haven't changed the menu in years- its getting really boring. What they have is good but I would enjoy it more if they had some specials that weren't the specials they have put out for at least the last 8 years.
Visited Melrose Grill to celebrate my friend's birthday. Staff were friendly and they were extremely helpful. The waitress who helped us was very knowledgeable, I was impressed (she knows all the preparation to the dishes on the Special Board!) I ordered a rib-eye steak and my friend ordered a Delmonico steak. We were thrilled at the flavor the meat brings us on our first bite! The flavor, juiciness and texture of the steak was PERFECT! I would give it a 10/10 stars if the steak was just as good as we ate. As the steaks cooled off, it became less juicy and the texture of the steak changed. Well, for the amount of money I am paying, Melrose Grill delivered more than I expected!! It was great experience and it is heavenly when I need a quick steak fix! We had a birthday cake so we did not order any dessert from them!
Overall, I enjoyed it :)
This was our first experience at Melrose Grill. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and we felt that dowm home hospitality. Our waiter Lisa was awesome and made everything on the menu sound delicious. This was a perfect start for our New Year Eve 2018. Thank you so much:-)
Its our first time at Melrose. We had a 4:pm reservation. I arrived at 3:50 pm. I approached the door and it was locked. I didnt know that the restaurant opens the doors exactly at 4:pm. I attempted to open the door. I peeked in and the waitresses saw me but didnt ackowledge me or came to the door to let me know they werent open yet. I felt ignored. But a few moments later the hostess came out from the back side and told us they would open soon. So we decided to stay. My wife and I sat and ordered. We were treated well by the waitress. The food was very good. My wife ate the entire plate which is a miracle. I tipped the waitress 25% for good service. I will be back on a more regular basis as long as they continue the good service.
We have visited the Melrose on many occasions, the last few have not been good to us!! As Melrose has become more popular, it seems to us Melrose had sacrificed their popularity into rushing patrons into quick meals and at times not very good service.... i.e. Meat not cooked to specific needs (Medium= Medium Rare almost rare) you hate to send any food back to be re-cooked?? Then the meat comes back as charcoal on the outside not really cooked any different on the inside? Slow bar service at times when you re-order your drinks the second time around!!
We had planned this dinner for a month with guest coming to town (We usually go to Daniel's Broiler) to allow our guest to try a new steak house? They seemed to come away disappointed!!
The bread was really good, but the salad was tasteless. The crispy Parmesan potatoes should not be on the menu. The Mexi Fries at taco time are better. Definitely not what I would expect at a high end restaurant. It was too loud, couldn’t have a conversation. It was cold. The meat was really good, but it was a little rarer than what I expected. The server was very friendly and took good care of us
Dining here is a favorite with our neighbors for the Holidays. Nice that they have kept a lot of the history in the building features. Cozy and nice hospitality. One of our best places in the area for both steak and seafood. I had my fav...the Prime Delmonico rib steak. Others raved about the stuffed pork chops! All of us enjoyed our green salads with their house blue cheese and warm rolls that come with the meals. A little noisy due to Christmas reveling.
Great food! Overall Amazing steak. Decent service. Waitress had a lot of tables and disappeared a few times. It was tremendously loud sitting in the back section next to a table of 6. We could barely hear our own table talk which made us eager to get our food and get out. Great steak!
