About Melrose Grill
Renton’s Finest Foods Since 1901! * Steakhouse voted #1 Western WA 2010 & 2014 * Historic Landmark in Renton
The building in which the Melrose Grill resides was established in 1901 and has served as a tavern since the days of the horse and buggy. It also operated as a pool hall, soda shop and card room during Prohibition. Recently restored, Melrose Grill kept its historic roots with the original mirror-backed bar with its rich, dark woods. The walls showcase vintage photos that highlight the transitions this grand building has gone through. With wainscoting on the walls, low-slung lamps and high ceilings the space feels as open as the West was when it was built. The Food and Service at Melrose Grill will amaze and delight your senses. We work hard to provide our customers with the finest foods available, and prepare them in a way that will tame even most particular palate. Voted #1 Steakhouse in Western WA by King 5 & Evening Ma.

Melrose Grill Ratings and Reviews
This place never disappoints. First off they have to be doing something right, it is a hard place to get a reservation at. It just is. The reason is clear when you get there. Good food, great service. This evening I had the brochette & prawns. So delicious. Dessert we had the coconut bread pudding. Amazing. Eat here. You will not be disappointed.
The Melrose is a great restaurant. Excellent service and food.
The place is small and very popular so reservations are recommended. Just to give you an idea how busy, while waiting for the rest of our group, the walk ins were being told that it would be an hour wait. It was a Friday night at 5:30 which is probably the busiest night of the week.
It is worth the drive to Renton
One of the best rib eye steaks I have had in the 20 years I have been in Seattle, Melrose grill has great service, friendly atmosphere, perfect place for businesss dinner or special occasion. You won't be disappointed, my only regret as I did not find this place sooner!!
I have been to Melrose Grill many times but less and less as the price has gone up. My steak was quite good but the vegetables, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Cauliflower and Broccoli were quite uninspiring and overcooked. I love the Parmesan roasted potatoes. Salad was good but not enough dressing.
Ok we have been going to Melrose for years. However we normally get the steak or salmon - both are excellent. But this time I tried the chicken dish. Normally chicken is a bit boring but the presentation and sauce at Melrose will make me add chicken to my meal rotation. Great value with bread/salad and the service is always friendly.
Had reservations at 8:45 p.m. checked in at 8:35 p.m. and did not get seated till well after 9 p.m.
The confirmation from Melrose Grill stated that if we weren't there with our entire party within 10 minutes from the time of reservation that we would lose our place and have to wait for the next available table. So what I don't understand is why it's okay for them to make people with reservations wait. Not happy with this process at all and probably will not soon go back.
What a fantastic gem of a steakhouse in downtown Renton. They have great cocktails, a wonderful Washington centric wine list, fish and vegetarian options, and complete meals. Meaning salad and sides are included. But the steaks were simy amazing. Perfect, lean, cooked just so, divine. Dessert was delicious, and our server, Michael, was fantastic. Every time I go, it reminds me why I love this place!! (my phone was acting up, so all I have is the cocktail specials!)
Always a big fan of this place. Excellent food, great service. My only complaint is it gets SO LOUD inside. It’s exhausting to try and yell over everybody in order to have a conversation. Nothing they can do about it though. I eat here about 5-8 times a year give or take. Never had a bad meal or bad service. My favorite steakhouse in south King county by far.
Wife took me to Melrose Grill for Veteran's Day dinner - one day later. opted to sit at bar where our service is always good (we had open table reservation for table) and we have a chance to chat with great staff. Wife had brochette of shrimp/beef and I - Cajun seafood pasta...both outstanding and combined with large salad, enough food for dinner at home last night. Corkage wine - $15. No dessert...will return often.
