Thank goodness for an excellent seafood restaurant with great service
Excellent family restaurant all around! Will be back
Fine dining, very stately and formal. Artful food, but not stick to your ribs kind.
I have been here twice and both times the dining experience was wonderful. This is classic fine french dining.
This is an outstanding restaurant in terms of food, ambience, and service. My only complaint is the "supplement" prices. Just give a price without add ons. It VERY annoying
Wonderful meal with a good service experience! Will be back when it reopens. Thank you!!
One of a kind experience with exceptional service and great food.
A fantastic experience, the service and ambiance are top notch and the food here is spectacular!! Can't wait to see what they do with the remodel!
The creativity of the dishes Is unique and wonderful only to be surpassed by the flavor of all the food. Every time I visit I am always amazed and in love with the food.
We just had to go one more time before the restaurant closes for renovations. We have celebrated numerous special occasions at Melisse. The fix price menu of the chef’s signature dishes was wonderful. In whatever new direction they decide to take Melisse, I know we will return.
The food was delicious and the presentation was amazing. The service was superb. What an experience! I would've given Melisse a 5 star rating but I was a little disappointed when I noticed the chef stopped by each table to greet guests, but skipped our table. We are paying customers. The only reason I'd assume he skipped our table was because my friend was wearing a Hijab. Oh well - it was still a lovely night!
Great Valentine’s Day dinner! Only complaint would be prices are really high
Great ambiance and decoration. Food was great. Service was lacking, probably too busy a night; Saturday after Valentines with first seating at 5:30. Even though they had a champagne cart, server never asked if we cared for a glass of champagne. Champagne cart never arrived at our table, even though we were sitting right at the center of the main dining room. I requested a wine menu and the server forgot to bring it. Chef’s welcome oyster dish arrived without a hint of wine on the way, to the point that one of the servers asked us if we didn’t like oysters, to which we replied: “still waiting for the wine to arrive.” Evening improved as restaurant and service settled into the evening.
Eh. Not as good as I would have hoped.
Waiters looked very stressed and chaotic, bumping into each other and also not attentive to us. We waited 25 minutes for a basic appetizer and kept noticing how distracted the wait staff looked. One waiter got into a fight with a guest over a photograph he tried to take with his family (the restaurant oddly has a no flash photography policy - frankly it was not worth the resulting fight for the waiter to call out the guest given the loud fight and cursing that ensued. Later that same waiter tried to enlist us in his support by telling us how obnoxious the other guest was after he and his family left. Unprofessional and unnecessary.). Then when we were served a complementary dessert on a nice plate we remarked to him how nice the plate was and he answered - “Yeah it doesn’t matter if the food tastes like crap as long as the presentation is good.” We laughed but not because we found his comment funny - it was awkward.
Never again.
There was no detail that was overlooked. Every item of food that we had was unbelievable. The uni panna cotta was crazy good along with the truffle risotto. Our waiter Ryan and his team amplified the whole dining experience. To be able to enjoy a dining experience that cost around $700 for two with one wine paring and still consider it a good deal says a lot!!!
Flew in from CT to try the truffle egg as I saw on Buzzfeed’s worth it. Absolutely amazing tasting menu, cannot wait for them to reopen in the fall!
My wife and I have eaten at Melisse numerous times and have had parties for 20 or more on three occasions and the staff and quality and presentation of the food always exceeds my expectation. Finest restaurant in Los Angeles!
Unbelievably delicious, sumptuous dining experience.
Very formal dining room belies the modern approach to food. Some of the best seafood courses I’ve enjoyed, ever, with precision-focused service. Really, really incredible food. Take the time to treat yourself to these thoughtful approaches to well-sourced plates.
Cheese course is NOT to be missed!!! Definitely worth the add on.
We were taken care of and looked after every step of the way. We had to be rolled out of the restaurant but it couldn’t have been more worth it.
We left with special copies of the menu from the night as mementos, which was so thoughtful and very telling of the pride the staff has in their restaurant.
