Mélange Restaurant & Bar at the Chateau Lake La Quinta
Beautiful patio with great food and drinks. Highly recommend.
Beautiful lake view, delicious food and great service.
The service was very slow. Four of six meals were cold. One burnt. Won’t give back
The setting is fabulous—looking out over the water on a starlit night. Very romantic. Food was well above average, but service was woeful. Have been to the restaurant several times, and assessment of all three factors has not changed. Has lots of potential.
The atmosphere is great. Food is great. But the service is absolutely horrible!! We never even had a Server. The bartender came and helped us and we were there for over two hours. Three of us. Terrible, we will not go back
The atmosphere is wonderful but unfortunately the food is just average. My risotto was chewy but the scallops were perfectly cooked. My husband’s salmon was very good. The Lavender cheesecake was very bland
The service was great, The food was delicious and such a lovely atmosphere. a wonderful place to go for lunch or a special occasion
Great hidden gem for brunch. Good food, great atmosphere. Service is slow and laid back so don't expect to be in any hurry.
This is one of my favorites! Dining by the lake is so peaceful. The menu has many choices and all of them are yummy. It can be a bit difficult to find but worth the trouble.
Enjoyed a lovely breakfast with a friend overlooking the beautiful lake and mountains. Lovely patio dining.
what a fantastic spot !!!!! we went for lunch and had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains.
The salad and Hamburger were delicious and the service was delightful.
It was so nice to feel as they appreciated our business.
Thank you for a wonderful lunch
It is all about the peaceful waterfront location. Staff is friendly but service is soooo slow. Limited food choices and not that great. Our food arrived cold and one of us did not get the dish until we were all done eating. The experience was not worth it.
Our friends had never been to Melange and were very impressed. Overall, the whole evening was great ... we weren't in a hurry ! But the service was very slow ... we ordered a side of bread which the server forgot about, we cancelled it but it came anyway !!! We will returned, just thought you'd want to know.
The food and ambience was wonderful but the service wasn’t so great.
Beautiful surroundings but limited menu, and only kale cesar salad
I,m sorry to say it was an awful experience. It was there 1st night opening from the summer.
I felt sorry for the servers, only 3 and they bartended and served. and it was pretty busy.
The restaurant was not ready for that amount of guests.
A little pricey 34.00 for the 2 scallops 2 shrimp over risotto
Pork chop hard to cut, like cutting into thick cardboard.
Seared Tuna , sent back to cook a little more , came back 20 minutes later.
We were looking forward to coming back , been here many times. too bad..
Great time on the patio. Brunch with friends while enjoying the view of the lake. Thank you to Raquel, for the excellent customer service
Great as always. Took friends who had never been, for brunch. They were very pleased. Next time, back for happy hour.
It was delicious and very reasonably priced
We love this place but there was a wedding going on across the way. Really loud music. We know this is not the restaurants fault but it is an issue FYI. Not sure that they can do anything about it however. Beautiful setting and wonderful staff and food!
The food was truly amazing!!
It was a beautiful night for dinner in the patio overlooking the lake, fountain, and evening lights. The mushroom tart was delicious, as was our split plate of pork chop. The lettuce was a bit tough on our wedge salad, but toppings were delectable. Wine is moderately priced by the glass, and selection decent. It took longer than usual to get a waiter to the table for water and drink orders, but once past that hurdle, service was great.
Windy day so we were unable to sit outside, therefore inside was noisier than usual.
Food was excellent, service a little slow.
We brought 4 new people with us and they loved it and will be back!
Made reservation several days in advance. Upon arrival we were seated right away and given menus, then moved a short distance to a table in the warm sunlight. Waited 10 minutes before receiving our water. (Considering the place was less than half full, this was a surprise). The glasses were dirty and the waiter apologized and brought new ones. Another wait, only to find the menu item (blueberry waffles) my husband wanted was not available. We ordered the lemon cocoanut pancakes and the shrimp omelette, which were very good. While the meal was good and the scenery nice, it’s a long way to drive for the experience.....
Arrived a few minutes before our 7:30 reservation. Manager walked right by us. In 10 minutes we asked a waiter how we could get to our table. Seated and got our beverage order in. Salads took a long time and our diner had not been served by 9:10 so we left. Love the ambiance and dinner in past years but the lack of timely dining experience will kill them. We’ll never be back till we see at least a mediocre review on TripAdvisor. Jeff and friends
I had the halibut I did not think it was that great. My husband had the chicken piccata with mashed potatoes which had no seasoning and the chicken piccata it was dry.
We love going to this restaurant for lunch. The view and ambiance is great. However, had this been our first time at this restaurant, we wouldn’t go back. Very confused wait staff, slow service and food was not provided as we ordered. It was a mess!☹️
We are willing to give it another try. Hope this was a fluke!
MELANGE is a great place to dine.
With beautiful lake views. It can't be beat.
For the 1st time ever tho. I was disappointed that a gratis Birthday cake or dessert wasn't offered to our Birthday celebrant.
In fact, we weren't offered a dessert menu at all.
Really delicious food at Melange! First we were seated by the fireplace outside on the patio. Perfect! Then the bartender made me a custom cucumber, mint, club soda drink that was bubbly and tasty. My friend and I ordered the asparagus appetizer with crispy breaded shallots and creamy dip and it was fantastic. She had a Ceasar salad (which they made with romaine instead of kale - not a problem) and I had the wild caught salmon with mushrooms and leeks and it was divine. The service was impeccable and the food made for a very wonderful evening!
The service was painfully slow. It took over an hour to get our food after order was placed. The halibut was average and short ribs were cold. The ambiance was great but not enough to make up for poor service and cold food.
It took a long time to get served our food, but once it arrived, it was very good.
Beautiful place to relax and watch the world go by.
The food and server were great. The kitchen was a little slow due to a large party, but they did give us a heads up about it when we came in, which was greatly appreciated.
The setting is beautiful. The food was very good. The service was awful. The restaurant acknowledged the poor service, apologized, and compensated us.
Food was extremely slow and was cold when we got it
We decided to try this restaurant "one more time" after having very poor service the previous time we ate dinner there with friends. Hard to imagine but the service was worse than we remembered. But worst of all, the manager is completely ill equipped to deal with managing a restaurant. He was not interested in any feedback at all about the issues we faced as customers/diners at his place of work. One of the worst exchanges we have ever had with a manager in a position of authority. We will never be back, and ironically we mentioned our experience to some friends here in La Quinta, and they laughed, saying that our experience is the norm.
This restaurant has disappointed us in the past and last nights dinner was the final straw. We will NEVER go back. The setting is beautiful but the service is horrible. The wait staff is courteous but not attentive and very slow. We had to ask for more water and wine! We waited our 40 minutes for our salads and had to ask where was our food. Then had to wait another 26 minutes before our entire was served. Thank goodness the food was good. Not delicious just food. Throughout the evening we noticed a gentleman counting something and taking notes on a clip board. Come to find out he was the manage. A good manage would have taken the time to walk around the restaurant and make sure everyone was enjoying their meal. He never approached any of the tables out on the patio. Apparently he is more concerned with counting light bulbs then satisfy costumers. The restaurant did give us a 10% discount for the inconvenience but still didn’t make up for the delays in service. While walking out to the parking lot we started chatting with another customer and she too said they were very disappointed in their meal and would never return. They just lost six customers in one evening. Nice job!
Lovely place - and wonderful service with a nice mix of lunch offerings.
was our first-time visit, sitting outside was very nice, it was cold and windy they were very attentive to making us comfortable by turn on the heater. I ordered the French Toast, it looked really good, however, it was cold, soft butter was piled on top, had not melted at all. you would think the kitchen would notice, butter not melting on toast. toast not hot. I scraped the cold butter off and ate 1/4 of the toast and blueberries and walnuts. It was tasty, had it been hot would have been great. my husband had the standard eggs benedict, they were warm and good he said. The service was very good. the outside singer they had for Sunday 'Brunch was also very good. We will give them another try.
Have frequently dine at this restaurant. We are full time desert residents. Usually love our dinning experience. However, tonight was the exception- we were 5 people sitting inside the virtually empty dinning room- only 1 other table of 4 dining inside. The outside tables were occupied. We had a reservation at 7- sat immediately, took our drink order and then we waited!!. No bread was even offered until I flagged our absent server down. We waited over 1 1/2 hours until we received our dinner. Finally, Robin (manager?) came over and told us that our food was being plated. Again, we waited with no explanations from anyone. Unfortunately, It was a total bust- very disappointing.
