Mehndi takes traditional North Indian cuisine to a whole new level. The bi-level dining space has a distinctively clean fell to it. Adorned with twenty-three Fourtuny chandeliers, the restaurant’s jewel tones glow as diners enjoy their artfully presented meals. On weekends, Indian henna artists sit on the marble staircase and apply henna to guests as they wait for their traditional Punjabi and Mughlai fare. We offer a corporate buffet lunch from 11:30am to 2:30pm Tuesday through Friday, and a lavish weekend lunch buffet from 12 Noon to 3:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Mehndi Ratings and Reviews
Appetizers were top notch, especially enjoyed the minced lamb. Dinners were better than the appetizers...best of 5 shared dishes was the Chicken Tiki Masala. Don't be afraid to ask for the curry spicy...it was very flavorful, but not at all hot. Really great dining experience, my only complaint was that the restaurant was cold.
Great Experience! It's upscale and classy! Everything we ordered was delicious and reflected the quality of ingredients. We were impressed with their wine list, It was not overwhelmingly huge but a great selection of wines from all over the world at very reasonable price! Their cocktail list looked impressive too but we were in mood for wine. What can be better than passionately cooked dinner paired with delicious wine in a nice upscale environment? Our server was great and offered to decant our Barolo ! It was one of the best Borolo I ever had in any restaurant and priced at only $ 69 or $ 70 I guess ! I have been to many restaurants owned by big name Chefs but the taste and quality of everything we enjoyed at Mehndi was the best! There was Henna artist also. We went there on Saturday so It was super busy. We had reservation so we were okay but some people were told that there was 1 or 2 hour wait . Next time we'll go on a weekday for a more relaxed dinner. Overall Excellent!!!
Food was excellent. Unfortunately, unable to serve hot beverages the evening I went and wanted tea. Could not hear what waiter was saying about not having tea so I was very confused and frustrated about wanting a simple cup of hot tea. The food was so good that I overcame my emotion of not getting tea. Yes, it was that good.
Went to Mehndi for dinner last night. We had the Paneer with the tomato base, Mergh chicken, Saffron rice and butter Naan. Everything was delicious. My wife got a henna tattoo while we waited for our meal. Dessert was also very good. I had the Kulfi ice cream and my wife had the Gulab Jamun.
A solid place for Indian food. My family always enjoys meals here. This time, the service was very odd. We were the only table seated for a while and our waiter never came by. We also ordered white wine that was totally warm. It was not ready to drink until halfway through the meal. Still, the food is very good.
If you are a lover of Indian cuisine you'll love the food at Mehndi. The menu choices are vast and every dish that I've ever had, has been wonderful. On this occasion I had the lamb vindaloo which was perfectly cooked. Perhaps not spicy enough, considering it's a vindaloo, but very tasty nevertheless. Highly recommend Mehndi.
Because of matinee theater tickets, we ate right when the restaurant opened at noon. We were the only customers for the entire time we were there, and because the buffet was fresh, we chose it. (Usually we prefer to order from the menu.) The dishes were standard NJ Indian fare, but with some extra, somewhat unusual flavors added. We enjoyed it very much. The Indian rap music was tiresome, but at least the volume was pretty low.
The food is always consistently very good. The waiter recommended the lamb chop special which was absolutely fantastic (and I would not normally choose lamb). The vegetarian also had a huge assortment of food options.
If you are going to the movies, this is a great option before or after or just anytime.
I have been to Mendhi three times now, different times of the day, and it has been consistent- great food, good service. Food prices higher than your neighborhood Indian buffet place but it is worth it. Complimentary henna tattoo also a nice touch. Creative and extensive drink menu, too!
Three of us ate here on a Wednesday night and what a pleasure to be able to hear what fellow diners were saying. Can't remember when I was last in a quiet restaurant, not sure how it is on crowded weekends, though. Every dish we had was very good, different levels of spicyness to suit your taste. Service was a bit slow and waiter had a sort of superior air about him, hard to describe but definitely there. They share a terrific bar with Ming 11 next door and the bartenders design some wonderfully creative cocktails.
This was our first time at Mehndi and we booked a reservation based on the reviews of other open table users (thank you). They were at least one server short, so it was a slow start. I am always heartened when a manager rolls up their sleeves to help dig the staff out of the weeds. Complicating the issue was that the hostesses were seating people in Mehndi that were dining off of the menu of Ming II (adjacent sister restaurant). Very poor restaurant sense...i hope ownership reads and resolves this. The food (lamb kebobs, tikka masala)was excellent and plentiful. The specialty cocktails were well balanced and held up to the spice rich food. We will be back.
I travel throughout the world and have lived in both US and France. I have dined in over 30 countries. This was one of the worst service I have ever seen - both incompetent and disinterested but not downright rude. Hire some professional waiters to serve the food which was not bad not great.
This was a very nice experience - we enjoy Indian food but much of it tends to taste the same, whereas at Mehndi we found that our dishes (both lamb-based) were excellently spiced and flavorful. Although we had to pay extra for popadom (usually this is on the house), it was great, along with paneer naan and the pea-based rice we had on the side. Best of all, prices were reasonable, considering the more upscale nature of the setting. I recommend this restaurant!
