Mehndi Reservations (http://www.opentable.com/mehndi-reservations-morristown?rtype=ism&restref=7779)
This remains the best Indian restaurant in whole of NJ.
The food really is delcious here, especially when compared with other Indian restaurants I have dined at. The flavors are subtle and the sauces distinct, fresh and tasty. Also, I appreciate the quality of the meat used. The waiters are never overally friendly, but they get the food served efficeintly and the order is correct. I think the decor could use a face lift, mostly the tired tile floor and grout is a little unappealing and needs a good cleaning or replacment. I do highly recommend dining here. It had fallen off our restaurant rotation, but after our recent visit, we will definitley return soon.
We had gone on the 2nd of November with reservations. It was my wife and myself. We were told they could not break up any tables. The only tables were near the bathroom/kitchen and where they were having a party for young children or the table in front of the entrance . We had picked the one next to the entrance, fortunately a couple just left and we were seated. However, a couple came right after us and they split up the table to accmodate them. Even though they werer not breaking up tables? That evening they had a childrens party where the children were screaming, and running up and down the stair.
One little girl fell and was balling. Not exactly what you would expect on a Saturday evening in a upper class resturant.
My husband loved his lamb vindaloo. My shrimp tandorii was a little too spicy and will see if I can have it less spicy the next time.
Overall, a great experience. We did order a dish for the grandkids that wasn’t supposed to be spicy and actually was. The kids wouldn’t eat it and the restaurant didn’t offer to credit it from our $200 meal, but all in all great food.
The food was great and so was the service. However, when we got the leftovers packed and took them home, we discovered that one of the dishes we liked so much was not included in the packet and that was disappointing.
Great vegan options
Fantastic food. Wine was superb but pricey. Lunch buffet is awesome.
The food was excellent. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend. The wait to get our dish was a little bit long but it was a Saturday night and it was worth it. The portion was satisfying. The service very good. Parking is convenient and free. It was a relaxing night. Love this place
It was great!
Asked for medium spicy but seemed more spicy.. Ambiance was good.
Great find!! Waiter very attentive, food excellent!!
1. Everything we ordered came at the same time so rice was cold by the time we got to it.
2. Two orders never arrived, raita and appetizer with corn etc. The bill still included raita. It was taken off once I complained.
3. The food order taker seems to have lots of attitude, he seemed to be forced to work and not there on his own will!!
Service and personal touch was very nice. Food was very good but we are not too familiar with this cuisine
What we did have was great .
Make sure to bring your receipt from parking for validation. We forgot this one time but they offered twice.
Very nice and helpful.
Delicious and extensive selection for the buffet lunch. Perhaps one of the best Indian buffet lunches we've ever had.
We were all surprised (shocked) to be charged for rice, $15 for 2 bowls. We had entrees $17-$22 (didn't notice indication of rice not included on menu-maybe missed it?). Upscale enough to include rice...
Not many options on buffet, food taste and look was not fresh for some items. Very blend taste. Overall not a good experience.
Some of the best Indian food in the area. The cocktail menu alone is worth working one's way through (although ideally not all at once...). Best to go with company that likes to share, so all can sample as much as possible! My go-to favorite for quality Indian, with a fabulous atmosphere. Happy to go with colleagues and friends with an adventurous palate!
Great service..very friendly! Lots of choices, delicious authentic food.
This is very good Indian food across the board. I was born in England and Indian food there is generally excellent but more spicy. So I think I am qualified to comment. The service is a bit slow otherwise I would have given this a * rating
Good food and ambience. Reservations recommended specially on weekends to avoid long wait. The service can be improved a tad bit. Drink orders took time to come out, food didn't take much time though. The menu offers a wide variety too.
The service was a little slow. They sat all the tables near each other even though it wasn’t that busy so it felt like you were dining on top of each other for no reason. Food was amazing though.
Mehndi is a wonderful restaurant. The food and ambience are a delight.
Excellent Indian food, attentive service, and nice ambiance! We are regulars.
The Indian waiter was so rude and disrespectful........
People come to spend good time. Not to face bad behavior.
Best Indian food I’ve had outside of Manhattan. Service is excellent!
Service was horrible. We had to wait for over 30 mins to order.
Love it here!
The food was good though the biriyani was very dry. There were small children crying/screaming throughout the entire time that I was there.
Excellent, creative food and extraordinarily good service. Loved the lamb vindaloo.
If you like Indian food, this is the place to go for non-Indians and I guess if I were Indian, then for them as well.
Great Indian restaurant where one can great tasty, authentic Indian food. The service was a little slow but I am going to give it a pass because it was Valentine's Day and it was crowded. Someone even came to our table to validate our parking for us so that was one less thing I needed to worry about on our night out
The food and the service were excellent.
Great food - that has not changed.
The service was thoughtless ... and unusual for this restaurant. Second time it has happened that way - like they just aren't paying the kind of attention that they used to. Too long to get drinks, order incorrect, staff seemed disorganized ....
We were only three at the table and they recently started adding an 18% service charge automatically, with no notification, and were very dismissive when we inquired about it.
All of this definitely tainted our recent experience.
The menu seems to have changed from last year and seems more interesting. Many excellent options, not all the usuals for suburban Indian. Everything was delicious though watch out for the spice. If you like things mild be very clear about it! Even dishes that aren't normally spicy were too much for us. Very friendly and efficient service though not rushed.
Love this restaurant. Great Indian food and if you aren't familiar with the various dishes, the staff is happy to explain how everything is prepared. Amazing cocktails as well.
Went by with a friend for dinner. Decor was beautiful. We ordered the chicken tikka, pappadum, samosas, paneer mehndi and I had a pineapple and cracked pepper cocktail. The cocktail was a unique blend and delicious! Paneer and chicken were good but could have used more chicken/ paneer with all the sauce. Pappadum was served with delicious tomato mix. Overall a great dining experience. A little pricey for the amount of food you actually get
A Morristown gem, tucked away. Spend the time to seek it out. Have eaten in many fine NYC Indian restaurants and this one matches, or even exceeds the quality of those big city restaurants.
Wonderful wine selection !
