India is a sublime fusion of the east and the west, in the most delicate and subliminal way. It is deeply steeped in tradition and yet is incredibly progressive; it is where knowing your heritage is just as important as opening up to new influences. It is this which makes India unique - the correct mix of tradition and modernity. The hospitality of Indians is legendary: the dictum of hospitality lies in three famous Sanskrit words ‘Attithi Devo Bhavah’ or “the guest is truly your god". Indians believe that they are honored if they share their meals with guests.-The finest of India"s cuisines is as rich and diverse BS its civilization. It is an art form that has been passed on through generations purely by word of mouth, from guru (teacher) to vidhyarthi (pupil) or from mother to daughter.
Méhék (Aroma) showcases the finest of Indian Cuisine in its new avatar - delectable traditional dishes with a contemporary twist.

Mehek Ratings and Reviews
For the town of Princeton, Mehek is a moderately priced, pretty good restaurant. It's BYOB which helps to keep the cost down. The sauces are flavorful and overall, it's a pleasant place. But in a really competitive restaurant town, Mehek wouldn't make it. All the dishes we had were very light on key ingredients like lamb and eggplant and generous on sauce. My husband thought it was a rip off. I would be more generous in my assessment than that, but would not recommend it.
My boyfriend and I have been looking for a decent Indian restaurant that provided a nice setting for a sit down dinner, as well as delicious and authentic food. We've found places we enjoy in Princeton but hadn't been nearly as satisfied as we were at Mehek. The service was excellent, the food was really delicious, and we are pleased to say that we've found our new go-to option in Princeton.
Mehek has a calm, welcoming atmosphere with great food and the nicest servers. The waiters are very polite and there to accommodate you. The food is rich with flavor and homemade. There are a lot of vegan options listed on the menu. I've had the vegan daal and a vegan chickpea dish and both were really good and there is rice and naan as well. When I went with my aunt she ordered a dish of tilapia soup and was also raving about it.
The food was great, good variety. Particularly liked the bread basket, 4 types of Naan. The waiter assisted us with portion size and was sensitive to spicy levels. Would have liked to wash this great food down with a beer or wine but none available unless you BYOB. A couple had a sizable wine bottle with them as we left; they had to have been local (I wasn't) and knew better.
Especially helpful, since some of our party don't like hot spicy flavors. Great Mehek staff guided us to ask for mild seasoning, and dinner was fantastic. All the breads are amazing, too. Best local Indian flavors, BYOB. Sound rating (above) meant to indicate that the sound level was excellent, not that it was loud.
The food was very delicious. My mom, as a first time Indian food partaker, absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was amazing and very quiet. We ordered by menu instead of the buffet, but that was an option. Everything was perfect. Will most definitely come again. It was so great, I just made another reservation there.
My wife & I enjoyed Mehek. The decor is not much, but the food was quite good and the servers were attentive without being pushy. The menu was sufficiently lengthy so as to provide a wide array of dishes to choose from, regardless of your preferences. The eggplant & chicken dishes we ordered were spicy but the heat did not overwhelm the flavor of the dishes. In this regard, it was done quite well in that they struck a proper balance. The garlic naan was fresh and tasty. I left feeling full and satisfied. I intend to eat there again - this time, the lentils since I had a tough time choosing between eggplant and lentils.
The food at Mehek is so good you have to overlook the spotty service to some extent. We went on a busy Saturday evening and still waited to be seated for our reservation. We also waited quite some time for our food but once it arrived it was well worth the wait. The only problem was no one ever asked if we wanted coffee and desert. They suddenly just brought the check. So we left. They were definitely a bit rushed and less than helpful with the menu. But oh so delicious.
The Indian restaurant by our house was closed so we ventured to Princeton and found this gem. We tried several dishes we hadn't tried before and they were great. The spicy garlic naan was excellent and something we never saw on a menu before. The chicken chaat app was good enough to be a meal. We will definitely be back.
My family and I gathered at Mehek for a early Mother's day dinner...we picked Mehek because of the reasonable prices, the variety of vegetarian dishes and of course the love of Indian food. This was everyone's first visit and we were all pleased/satisfied. Mehek is a very cozy place...with my group of 6 and 2 other groups the dining area was comfortable. Only bad point is the single restroom. The food was very good, we ordered the vegetarian appetizer and the cauliflower (delish!!), bread basket, Mango Lassi, a chicken and a vegetable birani, tandoori shrimp, garlic shrimp, tandoori mixed grill, and chicken Korma....we were stuffed with plenty of left overs. Everything was seasoned well and very tasty. I will return!
Came in at the end of the lunch buffet (1:45) and as it was my first time, I thought this might be a good introduction to their food. Although the food had been sitting awhile, it was still warm and very good. I don't, as a rule, usually do buffets, but in this case it worked out very well.
