Medusa Grill & Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Once again, Medusa was a fabulous choice! We enjoyed the baby octopus app, lamb with Greek sauce, trout and lobster — all were prepared with excellent attention to detail and balanced seasoning. Our server was attentive and the vibe was casual and relaxed. Can’t wait to come back for the spring menu specials!
We have come to celebrate our Anniversary for many years with this being our 43rd. The Chef Greg is outstanding with his cooking and hospitality. In fact he greeted us with the biggest smile and hug, which made our Anniversary that more special. We travel from Milwaukee to dine here.
Don't wait to book your reservations. A Thursday night in February and I don't think there was an empty table in the place. We had the Chef's Choice Family Style and had an abundance of food. Lobster, chicken, kabobs, Italian sausage... great for a guy who can not make up mind- why choose, let Chef Greg!
I am a LOCAL- and this is a HIDDEN GEM!! I have been going to Medusa's for years- have NEVER EVER had a bad meal. The food is extraordinary! Their SPECIALS BOARD offers a variety of meats and seafood you WILL NOT be disappointed in. THe RIBEYE and the LAMB CHOPS are 2 of my very favorites and the Pork Loin Marsala is the best I have ever eaten. The chefs Brussel Sprouts ( in which I have always disliked Brissel Sprouts) turned me into a lover of them just in his preparation.
The staff is FAMILY- personable- and always enjoyable to dine among them. My favorite seat is sitting at the bar. On weekends they have additional rear dining space that is a little more intimate and quiet to enjoy if you are ON A DATE. 5 STARS ALWAYS.
Not as good as on previous visits. Ordered calamari for appetizer - NOT GOOD. Large chunks that were tough to chew with a mediocre sauce. Salmon and lobster were very good - steaks not so much. Should be more flavorful and tender for the prices they charge. Service was good - wine selection good. Food has noticably dropped in quality. Hoping we just hit an off night.
Only Negative is limited seating for four people. Are only choices, and it was empty when we arrived, were one of two tables both near the entryway. If it had been a freezing, windy night, this would have been horrible. Food is always great and we love coming here. And we have been seated in other parts of the restaurant with four. We usually come for a special occasion because it is not a cheap place. I would still recommend this place for its food and service.
The food is simply exceptional. The lobster tail was so much better than what I had in Maine. You would not believe that vegetables could taste this good. Best food in town by far. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. Interesting also was the kitchen cam, focused on one of the stoves. You may see your meal being created.
I enjoy Medusa. Service excellent. The food tries to do a bit too much - conflicting flavors when you purchase everything separately. Albeit everything tasted good individually. Really really expensive entrees.
More of a place for an appetizer and a bottle of wine.
The food quality is outstanding. My wife and I love the menu and the service is impeccable. There is not a sub-par item on the menu. Due to the small size of the dining area, seating is a problem though. There are not many tables to begin with and several near the door can be very cold and drafty in the winter.
The experience was average. I was disappointed for the money spent. I would try again and order some different options. The menu was nice. However, I was not overly thrilled with the chef's choice, the steak ordered was overdone and had a heavy charred flavor, Saganaki appetizer came without lemon or pita, and the Tiramisu was heavily boozie.
We had a beautiful time singing at Medusa. We all ordered different items, all were prepared exquisitely, and the presentation was very attractive. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the cuisine and wines, and very helpful in ordering. I have already recommended this establishment to everyone!
There are simple reasons we choose to return to Medusa’s. It starts with a warm greeting, moves to a nice crafted cocktail, and then an encompassing menu. Easily one of the the top restaurants in the LG area if not in Southeast WI.
Some musts though - always get a reservation. Always. Sample several dishes and do not skip dessert.
Read the reviews online and thought Medusa would be a great place to visit for a birthday celebration on 12/23/17.
Had the surf and turf (ribeye instead of filet). The char on the steak was overwhelming and lead to an extremely bitter taste. The lobster tail also carried the same char flavor. Best and only edible part of the meal was the whipped potatoes.
$180 later, we had two inedible ribeye steaks that our dogs enjoyed the next day.
As we were leaving we understood why there was so much char on our meal. The flames coming off the grill were ridiculous. Word of advice, turn it down just a notch so you can properly cook a steak without burning it to death. We've eaten at plenty of restaurants that use wood fired grills and have never had such a poor experience.
We would not recommend this restaurant. You get a much better value and an amazing meal right up the road at the Grand Geneva Chophouse.
Medusa had been on our radar for a while, for date night, and did not disappoint. I ordered the chef's choice land and sea combo. My girlfriend ordered the scallops dinner. All of the food was prepared to perfection and was bursting with delicious flavor. The service was good but nothing to brag about. We had the chocolate mousse cake for dessert with coffee. Also quite good. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a high quality dining experience. We rank this restaurant/meal among our favorites.
One of the best restaurants in the Midwest. You don’t have to drive to the city to find great cuisine. The service is friendly and quick with great recommendations. They always have numerous amounts of specials daily which are fantastic. Perfect ambiance for a date night. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a great night out with fantastic food.
We brought guests and upon checking in at 5:30, we were told we would be seated in the back room, which requires going outside and entering in another door. The food and service is still great, but there is no ambiance!
Would have been nice to know before arriving we wouldn’t be in the main restaurant.
First time visit for our friends . They raved about the food!
