Medusa Grill & Bistro Ratings and Reviews
First time visitor to Medusa. Very happy with the experience and will definitely go back. The food was excellent, with lots of interesting choices, and prepared to perfection. Good wine choices and full bar. Responsive service and enjoyed the great music in the background.
We like to try different restaurants when we visit a new area. We hadn't visited Lake Geneva in many years. My husband had the pork marsala which he enjoyed. The menu has limited options for vegetarians. I had the vegetable prima vera, which was different than expected, it was good. The homemade gelato was delicious.
Service was excellent! Our party of four enjoyed the experience. The salads were great. My wife had the lobster and trout and loved it. I had the lamb chops which though cooked properly were grisly. The prices were much too high. I have paid less (many times) for better chops in downtown New York.
Off the beaten path. Nice location in Lake Geneva. Our food was great as was our waiter. A bit pricey I thought for Lake Geneva but food was worth it. Wish it were a little more private as you are almost elbow to elbow with table next to you. Drink prices too high as well. But a good choice. Try it, you'll like it.
We both ordered the filet that was served on a bed of grilled escarole and a side of the silkiest mashed potatoes you will ever eat .
This was the tastiest steak either one of us had eaten in quite some time . I think it’s a special occasion place simply because it’s a little pricey, but it was worth every penny !!
Will definitely go back next time we are in Lake Geneva . Great service and gelato that will knock your socks off !!
Overall the food was wonderful, the service was very good and the atmosphere was very cozy.
Some of the menu items were very unique and stress fresh, local ingredients. The woodfired grill gave the steaks takes wonderful flavor and although my wife's ribeye was very tender and cooked to order, my porterhouse was not very tender and didn't seem like a prime cut of meat.
Overall it was a fantastic dining experience
Our night started a bit awkward, as we were 20 minutes early for our reservation for 7 people and the hostess told us our table wasn't ready so we needed to come back at 7:00. We wanted to have a drink before dinner, but there is no separate bar to sit and wait like at most places. We went across the street to Tuscans and they had a full bar with no tables available so we ended up just hanging out in front of the restaurant until 7:00. We saw an employee ask the people to leave the table at 7:00, so they could get it ready for our group. We also saw this happen to another table later in the night. The food and service were excellent, so that saved our rocky start. We shared sides of zucchini, truffle Fries, and Brussels sprouts and they were all delicious as were every entree we ordered...Halibut, Ribeye, Lamb chops & filet. Just don't arrive early, this place is very small and there is nowhere to stand except outside!
There were 7 of us having a girls night get together! The food was excellent but the place is very small and very loud! We were crammed in a corner and luckily it got less crowded as time went on becauseyou couldn't even hold a conversation without yelling! The
Saganaki was fabulous(we had both kinds) and everyone that had the white fish loved it! The "appetizers" are really enough for dinner.
Just wish it had a little more ambiance and not so loud....
We had the grilled calamari appetizer - phenomenal. I had the lobster and scallops dinner and my friend had the lobster and steak dinner. Both were well cooked and tasted great. If I did it again, I probably would have had the calamari as my meal! Service was awesome, friendly, attentive but didn't linger longer than needed. Too bad the portions were so healthy - I would have saved room for the desserts, they looked good too. Downsides, it was pricey and the odor when you first enter is older Wisconsin building. Fortunately, it's quickly covered up with garlic and flaming cheese smells! Would definitely go back and recommend.
Medusa is a medium sized restaurant with lots of energy. The dark interior gave it an intimate feel. Classic rock played loud enough to identify the songs yet be able to talk without shouting. Locals as well as visitors seemed to have chosen it for dinner. Very good service by the wait-staff. It is knows locally as one of, if not, the best dinner restaurant in town.
At home we have a smoker so we are used to the flavor of smoked meats. We both had seafood dishes, which when cooked over the wood fire gave such a strong smoke flavor that it overwhelmed the natural flavor of the fish, scallops, and lobster meat. The greens were nicely flavored and not over-cooked. The Greek salad was tasty and just right for sharing. The desserts sounded good, but we'd already had our daily allotment of sweets. Make a reservation and give it a try.
Food was spectacular, desert was even better. Very small and quaint. I guess the thing to do is eat at the bar which had I known I would have. Limited tables. They had a tiny painted rock by the base of the front door that read "Smile" made my night. TX over the bar with a camera over the stove and the chef prepared meals great touch. I will be back.
Came here because of all the good reviews. Have eaten at a lot of the high end better restaurants in the area and this is hands down the best! We had the lamb chops, pork marsala along with truffle fries and the sweet corn. The truffle fries and sweet corn were the best we've ever had.
They also have a TV that shows what the chef is cooking inthe back which I thought was neat.
The food was fantastic as it always is. My wife and I go here three to four times a year. Our waiter was good but the rest of the staff was standoffish. As often as we go there you would at least think you'd get a hello or something from the other folks that have waited on us before. As I said we go there three to four times a year so it's not like they haven't seen us before. Almost like they didn't want us there.
Anyway, I think we'll start looking for another "favorite bistro"
