The hosts are confused and not great at communicating. The music is way too loud. The food is delicious and a great deal.

Service and food weren’t as good as usual. They seated a rowdy group next to us, even though the restaurant was mainly empty, which was annoying.

It would be perfect if it weren't so noisy. I love the music but it made conversation difficult

Great dinner out. Menu is easy. All you need to do is pick your drink and steak temp. Our server was friendly and the food was good!

The Kitchen didn’t know what perfectly poach eggs were on the menu. Barely cooked egg whites that I had sent back, but was still not right. Thank gosh for the Mimosas!

The sauce was good as were the fries and the salad. The cut of steak was weird though. It was super thin and the texture was strange. It was ok for the price point but I would be willing to pay more for a better cut off steak.

Food is excellent as is service - but music is so loud it is hard to have conversations in a normal voice. We have asked in the past if the music could be lowered and the manager said no.

Let me say that I have always come to MR for dinner and the food and experience is phenomenal. However I was disappointed this past weekend when we decided to slip in at 2:30 to eat on a Sunday on our way back from NYC with our visiting family/guests.

We were a party of 4, of which 3 members do not drink. Nobody offered to explain to us that the brunch menu was a bit different than dinner. The server did not mention the menu differences and rushed us to get our orders in (which we were happy to comply since we were hungry and tired!).

Don’t get me wrong, our waitress was sweet- but we just wished she would have clarified or made a suggestion upon learning that the majority of our party did not order the bottomless alcohol. She did not do anything wrong, but unfortunately, we did not find this to be of value considering that we paid $5 more than dinner pricing, but for half of the food. We noticed that a few parties that ordered right after us received dinner service. We left a bit disappointed and still hungry, especially since I had hyped up the restaurant to our guests.

Lesson learned- don’t come for the brunch unless you are coming to drink!!!!

Brunch is typically a busy time, especially when a bottomless brunch is offered, but the service was pretty sub par. Perhaps more staff for a busy brunch time would help, but we were served poached eggs with very runny whites, dirty glasses, and coffee mugs that looked like more coffee made it outside than inside the mug. The waitstaff was not very tentative, although this may be due to short staffing or other factors.

Everything here was just okay. The service was slow. The drinks were watered down. The steak was half the size of a regular steak. But in the end it was only $30 for all you can drink and a steak and salad so I guess it wasn't the worst.

Medium Rare offers good value for the money but don't expect a great steak, tasty but not great.
A good low carb option.

Food was awful--cold and premade. The service also wasn't great. There was a shared wait staff which meant a diffusion of responsibility that no one accepted.

Went for brunch- definitely one of the best deals in the area for bottomless brunch. Steak frites was great, perfectly cooked and seasoned, nice sauce. The service wasn't great, but not so bad I wouldn't go back.

I would not recommend the benedict. The steak was overcooked and chewy, the poached egg was undercooked, and adding everything together turned into a soup-y mess that was inedible. Service and drinks were good.

Overall 4/5 stars
My main issues were the music was so loud it prevented conversation, and we had to ask multiple times for standard condiments for their meal: ketchup and vinegar for fries. These should just be on the table.

Easy prix fixe menu made dinner for a large group hassle free.

Would definitely return.

Nice restaurant and attentive staff. Quality of the steaks seemed to have decreased both in size and taste. Bottomless feature may make this something that can be overlooked for many.

Food was good but service was not as great. Our server told us our seconds will come within 10mins but it was more like 30mins. We were there around 5:30 and there were only 2 other parties yet we had to flag our server for water refill.

Neat idea of only one menu item... meat with gravy and salad. Not well executed. Food was fine- just uninspired and a rushed assembly line feel. Had to ask for bread and silverware and staff seemed troubled to bring them. So many better options pn the steeet at same price point. Would not go back.

A great place to eat. Only one thing on the menu in the evening so you better like steak!
I went with my wife who loves a good steak and she was very happy. The set evening meal is bread, salad and then two rounds of steak and fries. I had a glass of the Malbec wine which for me is perfect for eating steak, nice and full bodied, and this one was ery nice.
All the food was excellent especially the bread and the steak. The salad was a little basic for me, just lettuce and a couple of baby tomatoes with a vinegrette but overall the meal was good value.
We nornally share a dessert after the meal but we were too full after the second serving of steak so cant comment on that. The service was good and attentive and and we were made to feel welcome. I will be going back, we have to try the desserts still!

Everyone in the group is a fan of medium rare but the hostess wouldn't seat my party of 7 until the 8th person arrived. I understand why most places do this but our friend was coming from out of town and let us know she would be extremely late. We went for brunch and our reservation was 30 minutes before brunch service stopped so this was a little frustrating. Once we sat we didn't have a designated server, random employees kept coming to our table to help us but that created confusion so we would go periods of time without drink refills. Also, you designated 2 hours to enjoy brunch. After 45 minutes we were given our check and servers kept coming by to see if we had paid.. we hadn't even finished our meals, it felt like they were trying to rush us out. Overall it was still a good experience because the food/drinks were great as was the company but the service could have been better.

Horrible service. Salads were served before we got our drinks. Waiter never came back to check on us and had to flag down to get more water. Such a shame, as this is often my go to restaurant to take friends from out of town. Won't be back anytime soon.

Our work group likes Medium Rare for the price and set menu. The French romance audio track in the bathroom cracks me up every time. My only complaint is music is always too loud in the main dining area. (Yes, I may be getting too old!) We asked and the manager turned it down some. Very nice staff.

I had not been to this location before but have been to the Cleveland Park location numerous times and loved it!
The food last night was cold and tasteless. The proportions were 2/3 the size of the what you get in Cleveland Park. I ordered medium rare and got absolutely no sign of pink. The second helping was small as well and came with enough sauce for one.
The server was obnoxious and visibly irritated when we didn't order alcohol and dessert.
Very disappointing experience!

My second time at the Capitol Hill location and it did not disappoint! A friend was in town from Florida, and this was the first place I suggested (especially for those who love steak). We sat outside and watched the sun go down as our server kept our plates full and drinks topped. The lights outside were the perfect aesthetic. Highly recommend.

Went for a birthday brunch for 2 at 1pm on a Sunday and it wasn't particularly crowded, so we figured this would be a pretty standard situation. However, all of the staff seemed low-energy or hungover - the host said around 3 words to us, our server disappeared for long periods of time, the busboys were left reluctantly doing the follow-ups on the table because they were the only people we could flag down. Coffee was room temperature, lukewarm at most. Poached egg was so underdone, I had to send it back not out of preference but that I actually could not pick any of it up with my fork. The steak was drowned in their sauce and seemed really limp but not particularly tender. Overall, I always try to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe this was a fluke, but the combination of factors has me think otherwise.

Brunch was very disappointing. Eggs were watery, meat was lukewarm. Mimosas were primarily OJ. Not one to complain to servers (the food is not their fault) but would definitely not consider for brunch again. Better food and deals to be had at Ambar or Cava down the street.

The steak was delicious! I didn't realize that after I had one steak and frites, it was followed by another serving of steak and frites. Totally worth it, I could totally see this becoming a regular dining spot for me.
