Really fun dinner — food and wine were outstanding!
This was a really nice place for a casual meal with friends. The food was excellent, and we had a table next to the kitchen. We shared six of the small plates among a group of 3, and it was perfect. Each was really unique and tasty. I would go back so that i could try the plates I didn't get to try.
Arrived for Sunday Brunch. Wonderful atmosphere and the food was spectacular. Mimosas perfect. Fabulous dining experience
Nice spot, good apps, very nice and capable staff. Not fancy but still felt special. Good date place if you like bright modern concrete and steel design.
Food and service were excellent. Only tweak I would make is dim the lights and put some candles on the tables. The lighting was uncomfortably bright. Overall excellent!
Food was amazing and the menu allowed a group of us with a variety of food tolerances to share.
Excellent food and service
So good we went back the next night since it was right off the freeway and easy to get to on the way to the airport!
Meditrina is a great spot for large groups. We really enjoyed our evening.
Mustafa was a great server. The food was excellent!
Our server was great! I believe our servers name was Safa. We made our reservation for 8:45 pm, not realizing that they close at 9. They did not even mentioned that fact to us when we arrive. We only realized it when my friend asked our server if they closed at 10. They were patient with us as we dined. And never once did they make us feel rushed. Great food, ambiance, and service! Definitely will be dining with Meditrina again!
Meditrina is a wonderful new tapas or small plate restaurant in southwest downtown Salt Lake. We loved the choices in the small plates; it made it seem like we could sample the best of the restaurant. Everything was great, especially the scallops, the Brussels sprouts, and the tempura artichoke hearts. I thought it was not overly expensive. I hope it makes it there and livens up that neighborhood.
It was AMAZING! Food was EXQUISITE!!! I wouldn’t go starving or very hungry though because the plates are very small. We paid $24 for a big plate that had 4 big sized raviolis but not filling. Although it’s not a place to get stuffed without spending a lot, every plate of food was to die for! You are definitely paying for the quality of the food as well as the experience and service! So worth it! Just don’t go super hungry. I will definitely go back!
The Valentine's lunch was a great idea and a delicious way to celebrate Valentine's Day. Food was wonderful as usual. The server was attentive to us, and made sure we were well taken care of. Thanks for another great meal. I will be back again!
I love Meditrina...I love that they opened for lunch again!
Great food and nice ambiance. The meal was a little pricier than anticipated due to the small size of many of the dishes, but the quality of the food was excellent. We especially liked the burger, and the brie and mushrooms. Carrot risotto was our least favorite.
Forgettable experience with over priced food. For the $100 price tag I can’t recall any of the food items as being exceptional. The location was nice, decor was nice. I would consider it to be avg. For a lower price tag I might consider it to be a better experience.
Average food. Inattentive service. Pass, there are too many good places in Salt Lake to waste a meal here.
Everything we ordered was delicious. We forgot to ask about specials, and it turned out that there were some, but we had already eaten enough. We are New Yorkers, so it still strikes us as amusing that a number of young men never took there hats off while eating. (Obviously not the restaurant's issue.) It is also open on Sunday for dinner, as well as brunch.
This restaurant is warm and inviting. Excellent service and the food is great as usual.
All 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our dishes!!! Hash bowls, chicken & biscuits and both short rib entrees were super tasty. Great brunch spot!
Great service and excellent food and wine, and we arrived early and they seated us then which was very thoughtful.
Good food - wish the scallop dish had more than one scallop since there were two of us splitting it (it's Tapas after all). But food and wine were delicious as always
Good place for our girls night. Safa was an awesome waiter! Some of the dishes were better than others. They were responsive when we had an issue with the shrimp being to charred and bitter and got us a new plate. The pickled grapes were surprisingly yummy! Desserts were excellent and great wine list.
Great food to share with friends. The service was helpful and friendly. Nice wine selection.
The food never disappoints but we would have ordered more dishes if the service person had checked back with us.
Love this place, there's always something new and innovative on the menu. Even if it sounds like a strange combination of flavors in a dish, it comes out delicious! And do not leave without getting the Drunken Oreos!!
Delicious food and a great atmosphere. I hesitate to post a review because I'm afraid it will ruin my little "secret spot" for brunch. The prices are also reasonable.
Wonderful food and very nice and fast service.
Really great service. I had a really good time. I love their tapas.
Some dishes were good. Others overdone.
Great creative small plates - the lobster ravioli is outstanding and Brussel sprouts will make you rethink vegetables altogether!
If you love to try lots of things, this is a great place. Small plates, all very good. Decent wine selection and good by the glass to try different things.
We had friends in from out-of-town and decided to try Meditrina before going to the Univ. of Utah basketball game. It was DELICIOUS! We enjoyed all of the food, and our waiter, Nicholas was wonderful and gave us great advice on what to order.
It was great to be able to try so many of the amazing foods! We will definitely be back again. Yum!!!
The timing of plate service was erratic. Our initial order was served within minutes. The second round was more appropriate around minutes, but then we started waiting 30 minutes for food. A better ticket and kitchen system to keep food times more consistent would be an improvement.
Had high hopes for this place based on reviews but the result just didn't cut it. Pros: Service and Wine list. Great wine list and amazing service. Cons: Food and Price. Naturally, small plate/tapas restaurants tend to be more expensive, but the food quality here had some real lows. We got the cheese/meat platter and it was not only very minimal the salami was old and stale as was the cheese. Perhaps 1 out of 6 to 8 dishes was tasty. Also, they advertised several Vegetarian/Vegan options, however these options were: The ricotta toast, without the ricotta.... why would you order this? They should be offering a Ricotta substitute not just remove it and charge the same price.
The tuna was days old. The food was very salty. I was disappointed. I liked the staff. But seriously the food is not good.
Great food, good service. Will go again for sure.
Two of us had a nice business lunch consisting of the brick chicken (really done nicely, moist and flavorful) with whipped potatoes and green bean in a single pile on the side. If separated, it would have presented better, but all the flavors were good. We chose to eat outside because a loud large gathering inside would have made discussion impossible. I hope to return soon.
Meditrina hosted a medium-sized group of us for one of their Tapas Tuesdays. During this promotion, diners can order virtually unlimited tapas for approximately $30. It's an amazing deal and a great way to taste your way through the menu. The small plates menu has roughly two dozen selections, covering everything from a charcuterie and cheese assortment to the Spanish classic, patatas bravas, to a crispy Asian-style pork belly with kimchee. The wine list is good and pretty reasonably priced; we elected to bring our own wine for a modest $12 corkage per bottle. Service was attentive and reasonably quick, particularly considering our larger and raucous group. Meditrina is a charming neighborhood stop with an interesting menu, lovely patio and reasonable prices.
