Mediterraneo Ratings and Reviews
Staff was extremely attentive and friendly; however, the noise level in the dining room was so loud we could not hear one another AND the food was only “okay”. The salmon lacked flavoring and the chicken parmesan was too crispy. The meal was definitely not worth the money!
My family came in for my mother’s birthday. She’s a glutton for outdoor brunch on a nice day. She was a little chilly sitting on their patio and they were extremely accommodating of moving us(party of 6 with toddlers) to the other(more enclosed) patio at the front of the restaurant. Carlos was our server and he was excellent. Javier was one of the server assistants and was also very helpful! Food was excellent. I wasn’t a fan of their mother’s day brunch. But their regular weekend brunch is delicious and extremely affordable. Looking forward to going back! Thank you for giving my mother a wonderful birthday brunch!
The menu was limited. The seating was poorly planned. The food tasted like it was precooked and then warmed before serving. But even if it had been fresh, it was not of the quality expected from this restaurant. Every aspect of the visit was extremely disappointing.
Food was cooked on too high a temperature. Raw inside and tough on the outside. Disappointing. At least the manager removed 1 of the 2 dishes. I had lamb (awful) and salmom (how do you make it leathery???). Manager tried to make up for it. At lesst the staff was super nice. Atmosphere is good. Maybe it was just a bad night.
The occasion was for brunch and renewing family ties. All the ambiance was enjoyable. Our reservation was at 11:30 and we expected to order breakfast items. It would help if that was clear in the reservation process because the waiter informed us we should have expressed that at the time of the reservation. I suggest the cutoff for breakfast be explained earlier. Our food was delicious and all else was excellent. We highly recommend the restaurant.
It was a friends get together for the holidays. We were seated at a table right next to the fireplace, which was decorated for Christmas. Food was great & the ambiance was very cozy. The only small drawback was the music being piped in. It was a little hard to hear others in our group. All in all it was a very nice experience.
I go to Mediterrano often and enjoy the food and the ambiance. I don't know if they were short staffed, but the service this time was not good. We had to wait a long time for our order to be taken. The rolls came half way thru the meal. I hope this is not a sign of the times for Mediteranno because it is one of my favorite spots.
My cousin was in from out of town and she had never been to Mediterraneo. My husband and I live in First Neighborhood, Westlake Village and have frequented this restaurant numberous times. My cousin and I both ordered a pasta dish for dinner and it was delicious! We chose to sit on the patio (more quiet and beautiful) - the hostess said it would be warm with the space heaters.
We enjoyed our conversation throughout and after dinner. The only problem was that someone turned off the space heater over our head and we had to leave abruptly!@#*?
Seated promptly. Food was very good. The wait service was very slow. Waiter left menus and did not come back. After about 20 minutes we had to go find him.
Again, when it was time for the check, our waiter was nowhere to be found. We had an early brunch reservation (11:30) and the restaurant was NOT busy. Waiter never came to out table unless we sought him out.
While I had been to the wine bar next door many times, this was my first visit to Mediterraneo and I was sorry I waited so long. The restaurant was very lively, filled with voices and live music. It is an attractive place, though a bit loud for conversation. There were 4 of us and we each ordered a different pasta dish. I had the linguini with clams which was served with a light broth type (rather than cream) sauce. It was delicious and loaded with fresh clams. That was one of the star dishes. The other was a seafood pasta that was served in a copper sauce pan. The presentation was lovely and the food was very tasty. While the place is primarily Italian, I had a tuna tartare appetizer and it was very good. Highly recommend the butter cake for dessert.
Food was wonderful, fresh & pasta homemade. Service was awful. We felt unwelcome from the time were sat down. Waiter was not accessible, nor did anyone else notice we had empty appetizer and bread plates piled on the table. Second drinks not offered & after dessert menu was given, waiter disappeared returning after talking with management, in a cloud of cigarette smoke. Service team very divided, paying attention to only their tables vs helping each other out as any Italian family would. Disappointed.
I visit Mediterraneo often and was disappointed this time as I clearly put on the Open Table Reservation that it was for a birthday and stated so to the receptionist when I came in. She told me she saw that and would advise our server. However, there was no acknowledgement by the server or dessert brought over. Very disappointed.
I always order the Mediterraneo salad. Wonderfully fresh. The bread is warm and freshly baked. The servers are attentive and helpful. I like the deck on the east side of the restaurant for the view of the lagoon. My favorite place for lunch or for a pre-theatre evening. However, not on a weekend evening. Parking is horrendous!
This is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. The food is fine, but if they are going to charge $40 for a piece of fish there should not be a tv blaring at the bar. There are other restaurants in the area that have no TVs and we will go to those in the future. Silence is golden!
