The food was excellent but the service so rushed. There was not s second to relax over our drinks. The salad came immediately as did the second course. I fret like they could not get us out fast enough.

This very loud, chaotic restaurant served up great Italian food. The server had a lot of people to attend to, but managed well. We enjoyed the lasagna with bechemel, penne with chicken, peas, and mushrooms, and chicken parm. Full bar and pricey wine list.

Ernesto (our waiter) was just outstanding. Made the evening great.

We arrived at the time of our reservation with a nice bottle of red wine from our cellar. The waiter greeted us and the left to retrieve two wine glasses. Had he mentioned the $35.00 corkage charge, I probably would have taken a closer look at the wine list. No mention of a corkage charge more than double the amount usually charged is not acceptable. I usually tip the waiter on the food AND corkage charge, not this time.

Just Fantastic. Great real Italian food, great service, friendly hosts. The Cotolleta was sensational as well as the pasta. In fact, it was so good we returned the following day.

I love Mediterraneo. The real star here are the Italian dishes - great pasta, pizza. But this visit I have the special - a rainbow trout. Prepared with capers, tomatoes, a sauteed spinach and cannelini beans, it was delicious. I'd come here a lot more often, but going to the same restaurant all the time is like breaking a commandment as far as my husband is concerned.

We had a delicious dinner here with another couple. It has a nice vibe and good menu selections. Mostly Italian. It was easy to talk to each other. I would definitely go again.

On vacation in Sarasota and our second time dining there in a week. Wonderful food, service and authentic Italian. Will definitely return when we come back to Sarasota next March.

Nice setting, good food, great service, enjoyable ambiance. Had the special fettucine with lobster and rock shrimp, slightly spicy sauce, very tasty. Others had carbonara and thought sauce too thick -- I didn't. Appetizer of pancetta wrapped mozzarella was delicious.

Mediterraneo can always be counted upon for a great meal. It is consistently good from the wines offered, the bread, the salads and the entrees. On this particular night, we wanted a quiet meal. A great red wine, salad and pasta -- with great service. The restaurant was packed with patrons (it always is which tells you something) but the service was efficient and friendly. We were never rushed.

Mediteranneo is one of the gems in Sarasota.

Wonderful food as always. All 4 of us had different entrees & they were all excellent. One person required gluten free pasta & she said it was the best she has had. One of my favorite Sarasota restaurants.

We have been dining at Mediterraneo for 20 years and keep going back! Delicious meals, prompt service and friendly atmosphere.

A great dining experience! Nick was our server and we will definitely be coming back and requesting to serve us again.

Main problem for me is they serve potatoes on many of their entrees. If you want pasta instead, there is an $8 surcharge.

Although it is an excellent restaurant, I would limit my visiting to only once a year, maybe.

We had a wonderful experience at Mediterraneo from beginning to end. The appetizers were wonderful and the entrées where also wonderful. Our waiter was excellent, he was attentive and helpful and took very good care of us all night long. All in all a memorable experience abd will definitely come back many times.

Wonderful ambiance with welcoming owners and staff. Our Big Tuscan wine (a new experience for us recommended by our waiter) was fabulous and was perfect with our wood fire baked mozzarella appetizer he also led us to choose. My wife had lamb mushroom pasta and it was delicious. I often have seafood pasta and this did not disappoint! A fun relaxing evening with great food.

It was good, couldn’t hear the person across the table from me or the waiter but it was a night out!

Have been here several times. Made a reservation on Monday night party of 6 and was surprised that we were seated in the bar area. Not that we said anything about the seating but was not happy. Don’t think I will use open table again because would like to express where I would like to sit

My husband and I went for dinner before a show at Van Wezel. We arrived at 5:45 and had our choice of tables, but it quickly filled up after that. The service was friendly and excellent. The
Wine selection was very good. The veal Marsala was the best we had ever had - delicious and so tender! The spinach salad with pear was big enough to share and very tasty. We have tasted tiramisu all over the world, and their’s tied with our favorite ever. We highly recommend.
