Mediterraneo Ristorante Italiano Ratings and Reviews
Enjoyed the food and ambiance. It was a bit noisy and crowded but we would go back with a smaller party. It was difficult to hear everyone across a large table and I felt like we were squished into a corner since there were so many of us. It's a fairly small restaurant so I'd plan to go back with no more than one other couple . Definitely want to go back for a more intimate evening.
First, this restaurant is open Sunday and Monday. It is nice to have an attractive place with delicious food available when quite a few places are closed. The wait staff is well trained—they know about the food and how to serve it. It appears that this place has quite a following as the owner seems to know many of the diners.
I have eaten at Mediterraneo many times before but my last visit was not enjoyable at all. First of all, the noise level was abominable. It was difficult to hear the person seated beside you. I became aware that some diners seemed to have special privileges. For instance, the table next to mine was served melon and prosciutto which was not offered on the menu or as a special.
Our water and wine glasses were never refilled. As I was refilling them I accidentally hit my wine glass and wine spilled into my entre and onto my lap. Thank goodness I had my napkin on my lap. My entre was flooded with wine and there was no response by staff and we were completing ignored. When we asked one of the staff for a clean wine glass he answered that we needed our waiter who was no where in sight. My entre was non edible.
The table next to mine certainly got a lot of attention.
Wonderful experience from the time we walked in. The atmosphere, food, and wine were all very good. We only had one problem and that was as soon as our waiter got a table of 10, he forgot we were there. I understand the tip for 10 is going to be bigger than for 4, but you never know. Anyway, great resturant and we will be back again!!
Our first visit will not be the last. Amy, our waiter was fantastic, imparting her knowledge of each item guiding us through the items, all which sounded delicious. We ended up with carpaccio appetizer, followed by Veal chop with a side of penne and desert. My wife shared the carpaccio and desert and had veal piccatta.
We will be back very soon.
