Always a very nice evening at Medici. Good food and good drinks!
My husband was sick so took my daughter out for Valentines Day.
This is a pleasant restaurant with many lunch options. We had a group of four on a snowy Saturday, with a nice table by the front window. Our server was Amanda, who was quite helpful and efficient. I will dine here again when I am in the Normal area!
Great staff and great food.
We really enjoyed our dinner, except the beer can chicken was a little overcooked and dry. My wife's gnocchi was very good and our server, Amanda was excellent. We enjoyed the energy and look forward to warmer weather when we can sit outside.
Food is always great! However, the ambiance upstairs is not as good as it is downstairs. When you sit upstairs, it’s almost like you are at a wedding reception- it’s cold, boring decor, and the service upstairs has always been terrible. Please know that I am not referring to the outdoor patio area. Downstairs is always a better experience.
While dinner was ok, we had set a reservation for 6:15 pm. When we arrived, we were told that we wouldn't be seated for about 20-30 mins. While that might be acceptable for walk ins, I find it rude and un-accomodting for a date night. Also there was no where at the bar to sit, and the attendants were unprofessional in their approach with us. We were then seated a a table that was dark and it was difficult to read the menu. The waiter forgot my wife drink, not a good night for Medici.....
Food was great as usual but I was not impressed with the service when it came to the reservation.
I made a reservation for 6:30 and was told it would be a wait ...... I understand that they have to accommodate walk ins if they come earlier than my reservation but ...... I MADE a reservation. My friend and I got so tired of waiting that we just ended up eating at the bar....
Food was exceptional as always. Service was pretty lackluster. If you are looking for a quiet intimate place for a romantic meal this isn't it. However if you are wanting somewhere energetic with an eclectic menu and the best patio in town come here.
One salad and two sandwiches. Everything was good overall. The sweet potato tater tots were absolutely fabulous, I would go back to get them again. The bun that came with the tuna sandwich made for difficult eating. It was too dense that you couldn't cut it without destroying the tuna; the knife could hardly get through it. Trying to bite through it caused the tuna to get smashed and jump out the side of the sandwich. A really good server would have noted that the sandwich was taken apart, left laying on the plate and would have asked if everything was OK.
Not horrible enough to not go back, but I would definitely be ordering something different
This is a great place. Service, food, beer selection, atmosphere all top notch. We go every time we are in Normal for business.
We have dined here 4-5 times and unfortunately each experience has declined. We had a very long wait for our entrees and the food was not worth it. The red pepper fettuccine was very bland and much in need of seasoning. My butternut squash ghocchi was probably the best out of our three entrees. The barbecue brisket very dry and chewy. The lemon curd tart flavor good, however the meringue topping very gritty, the sugar wasn’t dissolved. I keep giving this restaurant a chance due to the convenience of being near campus, but I think I am done!
Great service and good food. Noise level prohibits conversation.
You will definitely need reservations, but worth the wait.
Delightful experience. Excellent cuisine, great service, and the noise level (although often too loud for us) was more on the modest side at the time we had dinner--6pm.
