The food was horrible.
The portion size was ridiculously small (being a very petit eater).
The price for small tasteless food was outrageous.
The place was not clean.
The service was: who cares if you are dining here or not.
Can’t figure out how it has any five star ratings.
Dine at your own risk!
Trying restaurants in the are and wanted to try this Mediterranean joint. We sat outside - noise and rush hour were interesting and distracting! Happy prices for select beverages was outstanding. Food was fantastic and price was reasonable. They were out lamb chops but Amina was awesome in helping my colleague find something on the menu that would make her just as happy and it did! All of staff were very friendly. Sangria was house made and one of the best I’ve had in my travels. We had lamb shank, Caesar salad, garlic shrimp and grape leaves! All were very good! Will be back!
What a lovely family! And the rest of the team was lovely too. Thank you for a great meal!
Medaterra was absolutely fantastic. The food and drinks were affordable and delicious. The service was great, and the people who work there are very nice. Safe to say, this is my new favorite D.C. hangout!
We were at a conference for the weekend had many different diets and many people. I did my research before going to DC and decided Medaterra was a perfect fit! The food was amazing, so many choices! The staff was so sweet and helpful! We had a wonderful time!!
The food was good. The waitstaff friendly. They seemed to have lost the order for 2 of the 3 people at the table. This was not recognized by the waitstaff, but had to be brought to their attention.
Tooted as "Best Happy Hours in DC" with any food purchase, including $3wings $5burgers, for $1-5 drinks $1 frozen margarita $2-3 shots tequila $4-5 house wine and DC's infamous $5 martinis choice of Stoli Vodka Gin Rum...apps under $10 mussels usually much better than tonight, fried calamari basket looking crispy, turkish seasoned lamb sausage or kabbabs are usually my faves. Full medi seafood surf and turf steak and pasta plates $12-25 are decent, and best bang for your buck in DC, especially pre-game partiers. Usually lively but rathrr quiet tonight with just local bar crawlers. During days and weekends there are many variety of tourists, mixed business and locals. $1-$5 still the best all day happy hours open to close. Maria bartender is pleasant, mgr Angie is the Best! Thx, bring back karaoke for our moXthly bday friday? During good weather, grab a seat outside or back patio for people watching. Private quieter dining room is inside. Her sons shark drawing on the wall of original currencies papering the bar's background. Lots of 80s music usually courtesy of our sweetheart Angie's ipod. Cheers in DC.
Angela is the owner here and she always gives great service. Her staff is friendly as well. I went here for my Birthday and had fun! As always! Their frozen margaritas are AWESOME! The lime one is the strongest. Lol.
This was my first experience and it was great! Amina, our server, was incredibly fun and energetic. She made our night much better and she took great care of us too. The margs were pretty solid, the bartender, Maria made some pretty solid drinks for us as well. I will definitely go back!
Not great. Poor quality over priced food. Feels more like a casual place.
Excellent experience ! Food was great plus the $2 tequila for happy hour was a bonus
Went on a Friday night. Service was awful, though I suspect they were down 1-2 staff. They could never decide who was waiting on us so we had a different person about every time we needed something (which was often when we could get something as we weren't being served well). Service was definitely poor and unattentive. The food was mediocre at best and nothing special. Risotto tasted old and just reheated. Salmon was reheated and overcooked. Hummus was good, but not great, and obviously just store bought with some chunk chicken put on top. I would not go again, nor would I recommend going here--ever.
We had a large group dinner here while attending a conference in the Woodley Park area. The service was great and the prices were reasonable especially for dinner in DC. Would definitely recommend for a quick bite or group dinner!
Stopped here during a conference for a Friday evening meal. Yummy food (the lamb skewers were AMAZING) and staff was attentive and conscientious.
I had s good time with my mom. It was exceptionally quiet for a Friday lunch. Staff was very nice.
THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD. The happy hour is literally amazing with $8 you can get a cheeseburger with fries and a double margarita. The food is good and high quality. The staff is nice and the ambiance is good.
Hummus with chicken is the best I’ve ever had. Sangria was great. My daughter got the chicken tenders and it was a very large serving, easily two meals. Hostess Princess was lovely and made sure we had a pleasurable experience. Would definitely return.
Food was on par with what I could have scrambled together at home (and my culinary skills is very poor). Way overpriced for the poor quality food you get. Was very loud and not the experience I was looking for. Will not be back.
Friday night was very crowded and too noisy to have a good conversation. The background music just added to the loudness and sense of confusion. I had not been there for several years and the atmosphere has completely changed. The food was still good and moderately priced. The selection was limited. The wait staff was efficient and helpful. I might go back again, but not on a Friday night. Maybe better for a 20s something crowd.
Service was fantastic! Food was just ok & the drink specials are highly popular.
Patio space is tight yet the friendly patrons made it worthwhile.
We just walked in and immediately walked out as the atmosphere and overall feeling of comfort and cleanliness left a lot to be desired.
First time visit did not disappoint! Food was great, staff was super friendly, and don't miss the drinks; they are great as well!
The food was outstanding. There was something for everyone on the menu. Really liked the Medeterra platter with a sampling of different items.
The restaurant had an interesting selection of food, some vegetarian options. Atmosphere is very casual, and the staff were very attentive. They had a large group of students come in which made it very noisy.
We were a party of 10, where one needed no stairs, or bumps, wheelchair accessible.
The staff was more than accommodating - especially server "Princess".
The manager was excellent - directing us to their patio, accommodating the wheelchair and a slightly reduced sound level ( outside is actually quieter ).
The food was good - the appetizers being better than the entrees.
Eat the felafel, the hummus, & the calamari.
Dishes with eggplant ( all cold ) weren't to our group's liking - half onions.
The non- curried mussels we're outstanding.
The service is the star here.
Loved this spot! Right next to the metro, so super convenient location. Service and food were impeccable! Of course tried pretty much every margarita, great prices. Will definitely go again!
Medaterra serves relatively inexpensive, but routine, Mediterranean food when you need a meal near a convention hotel. The lamb was presented as one of the best options, but it was flavorless and visually unappealing when many small chunks of meat were scattered on top of a salad.
Food was crap
Great food and the service was good. The servers were very friendly.
Enjoyed the service, food and atmosphere. Not that it's bad but it is a little noisy.
Noisy with head thumping music....food was cold and tasteless
This was our first visit. We are from WV and stayed at the Omni, and we wanted to go somewhere close. We love love love this place!! We will always go back!
Nice atmosphere for dinner with friends. The staff were very accommodating on a very rainy and pretty quiet evening.
We were pleasantly surprised with our dinner at Medaterra. It was conveniently located to our hotel and the price was less than a similar meal in Charleston, West Virginia (where we live). I would definitely eat there again.
the place was wonderful and pleasant. Atmosphere was incredible.
Staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They were all warm, friendly and helpful, creating a comfortable setting for a group of 6 friends to meet and dine.
The food was good for the price. The drinks were only ok (but really cheap). It was hot inside- like the AC was not really pumping air. Also, after multiple requests to add veggies to the hummus order (we had someone with food allergies), we never did receive the cucumber slices the server offered.
Eat outside if you can stand the street noise.
Smells so bad inside..like stale beer.
Food is average and a bit on the high side for salads.
Food was good, and would go back, but this place is nothing special. Good outdoor dining, and happy hour specials are really good and apply all day, so it's a good place to meet up with friends if geography dictates this area. But would not choose to take an out of town friend here necessarily. There are far more interesting places for that kind of evening.
