Meat Market Ratings and Reviews
The staff could not have been nicer and more responsive. The foie gras appetizer (grilled) was very good and the bread was fantastic. The atmosphere was nice and the wine list was impressive. Now for the bad news, the main courses were just awful. Our $50 filet was overcooked and completely tasteless. The special of the evening (sea bass with truffle oil) was, frankly, inedible. The undercooked fish and truffle mash potatoes were so soaked with truffle oil that you could taste nothing else but the oil. Overall the experience was disappointing. Hopefully their chef gets it together with his and/or her main courses as the atmosphere and wait staff could not have been nicer.
food was delicious. The restaurant was a bit noisy, but not so noisy that you couldn't hear other diners. We took clients there and had a great meal. The only recommendation I have however is to allow parties to designate indoor or outdoor on the reservation. Fortunately someone else didn't show so we were able to get an indoor table; outdoor would have been unpleasant in the humidity. As I had not been there before, I had no idea that we were subject to sitting outside.
For some reason, I was not expecting much from this place, probably because I don't eat meat very often. However, I was in for a treat. I took the Kobe filet mignon and have to admit, although on the pricy side, it was the best I ever ate and worth every penny. I highly recommend it.
It took our food 50 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Skirt steak was chewy and not well cooked. My daughters Filet Mignon was rare when we asked for it to be well done. The bread in the beginning was excellent. Over all, food and service mediocre. The restaurant itself is nice. Outdoor seating lovely just wished food was better.
The French speaking waiter was a real disaster. He asked if I knew what pheasant is; he corrected my wife because he couldn't accept that she likes her steak "medium-rare"; he didn't mention any ot the specials of the day; he couldn't care less about anything all the evening. As for the food, our risotto and seabass were well cooked but the taste was horrible because of too much butter.
The place is beautiful and you can have a conversation even when it is almost full.
Tremendous kudos to Luca & the service professionals that enhanced the meal with delectable food, but enhanced our lives with smiles & laughter. Allison and her professional, friendly demeanor were welcome conversation throughout the meal. Tuna Tartare, Truffle Roasted Escargot (FANCY!!) & Wahoo Ceviche, all full of flavor & personality, while being divine & mouthwatering. The steak was cooked to perfection & accompanied by flavor enhancing sauces. We loved the Atomic Horseradish Truffle Sauce & Wild Mushroom Truffle Sauce. Dessert for us was Luca’s choice, and when we thought dinner couldn’t get any better, there was Chocolate Lava Cake with Salted Caramel Gelato (OMG!), & a Key Lime Cheesecake concoction that won’t soon be forgotten.
This is a modern take on "steak house". The food was very good & the steaks were excellent. The wine list is well curated & I enjoyed talking with the sommelier (Allison). We had the '06 Peter Michael & it was perfect with our dinners. They have a range of trophy wines & affordable gems incl many french wines. The outdoor dining is very nice, but b/c we had a larger party, they sat us inside. The table was right up front so we got "bumped" by passersby, but it was ok. The service was just right: there when we needed them. Definitely would recommend and will return!
Everything from the Black Truffle Oil to Lobster Mac and Cheese, this place nailed it. I went for my birthday and was happy to find that Meat Market is as good as my friends told me. The steaks cooked to perfection and delicious. All and all a great spot if you want to a nice meal.
...at Meat Market is going to set you back quite a few bucks, especially if you're ordering appetizers, sides and wine as we did. The wine list is very interesting, though there weren't many bottles that were moderately priced. That said, my steak was excellent and my dinner companions all enjoyed their meals.
Picked this between reading TripAdvisor and walking by the night before. Was super impressed with the staff - casual, approachable, and knowledgable. Would recommend "reserve" items as my ribeye was one of the better meats I've had. Would definitely recommend or eat at again. Only 'con' was a wobbly table - not bad!!
I hate to fight for my points, they had me down as a "no show." Our bill was over $500, there was four of us, so you can tell the prices along
South Beach. Everyone's food was excellent, the service was almost perfect. But when I left, I thought "Would you go back?" I think that is the
mark of an outstanding restaurant. No, I wouldn't. I did not feel like an appreciated customer, but maybe this is the way it is in South Beach. They have so many customers, they just shove them thru and know they probably won't see them again. I also am a little ticked for spending
an hour on this site trying to figure out how to contact anyone to get my points, OpenTable does not make it easy.
Found this gem on Chowhound Forums while searching "Lincoln Rd restaurants that aren't tourist traps".
Zen/hipster decor: wood-clad walls, wine shelves, sparkling candles. Beautifully prepared meat and sides, half portions available. Attentive team format service.
I dine here atleast once a month and I always have a great experience! The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. The Sommelier even came to the table to review the wine list with us. This is definitely one of the trendy restaurants in South Beach to not miss!!
Thank you to the Staff. You were more than accommodating with my food allergies, thanks tomthenmambagebt for coming to the table to discuss my needs. Our waiters Sean and Chris We're great. We had a lot of fun with them. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I was expecting more flavors and better presentation from the food. Not impressed with anything the restaurant offered. We wouldn't be back and it has nothing exceptional to recommend it. Service was very good and on lincoln road. But those were the two highlights.
When we arrived, the hostess confirmed that we did in fact have a reservation, but they would not be honoring it as they were busy. It was like a scene out of Seinfeld. She said we could wait an hour for a potential table and didn't even attempt an apology. Because we had an elder guest that couldn't stand for an hour in hopes of finally sitting, we spent our money at a restaurant that actually cared about returning customers.
This was easily the best meal I've ever had in Miami and a perfect way to cap off a fun few days of sunshine and warmth. We started with a drink inside at the bar and moved outside for dinner. The service was attentive (without being annoying), and everything our table of four ordered was outstanding. The menu is pricey, but our meal was worth every penny!
Worst restaurant I've ever been to. Very expensive and the food was below average with horrible service. The waiters were very rude and completely unattentive. My salad had way too much balsamic vinager. I told the waiter and all he said was ok. Completely disappointed. Never coming back.
I remember when the restaurant was across the street and called Touch. That was our favorite place, very intimate and romantic. Meat Market was just the opposite--very loud and no privacy at all. The atmosphere was not at all like I was expecting and I was quite disappointed. I will not go back.
It was my mother's birthday and they accommodated to everything i asked for without a problem. The service was amazing and consistent. The food was delightful but the severing sizes vary from too small to too large. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone would want to celebrate a special occasion.
The food and service were fairly good. It's considered a high end steakhouse, but it lacks excellence for the prices they charge and reputation they seek. My wife ordered the sampler with three different pieces of meat. she requested medium, but they were not exactly medium. They also did not considerably distinguish themselves in flavor. The various sauces were not great. The approache to the options in the menu was very nice. Many choices which we like. I ordered the flank steak and it was just ok.
My wife had a great meal on an early Saturday night. Food and service were great. Wish Meat Market would offer a few more reasonably priced glasses and bottle of wine. I bet less than 5% of the bottles were under $100, which I do not think is in line with the food costs. Other than that, a great experience.
