Meat Market Ratings and Reviews
Overall the food was good. My main issue is that there is a mandatory 18% gratuity that was put on us for service that was less than stellar. Felt that we were neglected for a good part of our dinner and as the evening went on, it got worst. Felt very much that a dinner that should have been around a hour long shouldn’t have been 2 hours
The Meat Market would like to present themselves as a fine dining restaurant but in actuall fact it’s not much more than a local tavern. The steaks at our table were rare when we all ordered medium or medium plus. One of the sides came out 7-10 minutes after our mains were served. The mac & cheese had so much salt added we couldn’t eat it. The noise level was so high we could barley hear ourselves at our table. The two tables next to us also sent food back and after receiving fresh steaks still didn’t eat them. Our invoice had four additional drinks added to the bill, an automatic 18% gratuity and a resort fee. The entire meal was $600.00+ and I can honestly say I’ve had far better meals at $150.00. I eat in restaurants all over North America that vary from a country diner to Michelin Star rated and can honstly say I would not dine at the Meat Market again. In a restaurant that advertises themselves as fine dining one should as least expect a table cloth, some sort of glass plate as opposed to a plastic tray to plate you meal and possibly competent staff to prepare and serve your dinner. If they set the bar MacDonalds is now fine dining.
As always the ambiance (outside) and the food was excellent. The service was somewhat disinterested, which has never previously been the norm. Perhaps an off night. The winelist is good with some very notable wines but the prices are through the roof.
Always a good dining experience but this one particular time, not a great dining experience. For the price, it should always be great.
Had been to Meat Market dozens of times through the years, and was back a few days ago after being away for at least a year - had completely forgotten what a fabulous restaurant this is! In the middle of all these new and short lived wannabe restaurants, The Meat Market stands the test of time as top notch in this city. Superb cuisine, awesome quality and creativity of food and drinks. Service is incredible - in a city where high end restaurants put hosts and servers that lack personality, manners and even client focus. Bravo to The Meat Market for keeping true to its core talents, fresh with culinary ideas and caring for your patrons. What a rarity!
Dry poor and slow service. The server was busy but very unresponsive. For a fine dining establishment our visit was terrible. They also added the tip prior to us receiving our bill. So we paid 18% fo really bad service. Pass on this place. Many more good ones in Miami Beach that are worth the money.
This was a Miami Spice birthday lunch for just $23 and I had the quinoa, kale and avocado salad, followed by he best (Kobe beef) burger I have ever had, finished by a house-made pistachio ice cream and washed down by a sale Taitttinger champagne at $55/bottle. Everything was perfect!
Ate dinner at the bar on Tuesday nite with a friend for Miami Spice. In a nutshell the food was great but the service was very poor & slow and the restaurant was empty..Had to request water to be filled, another cocktail, etc..Received the pre cocktail spicy edmaname and corn nuts after the meal was finished and after asking for it twice...Need to improve the service side big time...
It was the second time in the same week.
We were upset because we reserved and arrived on time but the hostess blonde said that as we did not specify that we would like to stay inside the restaurant, we had to wait ... in the end we waited another 30 minutes.
Otherwise, the food was wonderful.
Been to MM a few times but it has been several years since last visit. It was definitely different. Although the food is spectacular, it was not worth the drive or the $$$ this time. A table for 6 placed a few inches from the kitchen should have been foreshadowing as one of our chairs was in the main path for guests and servers and well... It made for a head bumping filled evening. Oysters Rockerfeller were amazing, but one of our dishes was wrong as was one of our steaks which was completely undercooked. We asked for no butter on a dish and guess what? We got butter and the. were told "no, that's not butter". Seriously? Another server seemed annoyed by a request we made rolling her eyes. A couple of hours into it and we ventured towards dessert...a fiasco. Apparently we were to accept and believe that what looked like apple pie was really bread pudding--as in take it, it's bread pudding. The correction made 10 minutes later but then same mistake made again. We laughed but then not so much since it took more than 3 hours to get through dinner for a party of 6. It's a shame, I don't think we'll be back.
Being on Lincoln I thought it was going to be a tourist trap. Very pleasantly surprised how really good the food was!! Loved the menu and that is what brought us there! The atmosphere was energetic and I was wanting a romantic quiet dinner for my anniversary but after the 1st course I didn't care! A little slow with waiter getting to table but after he finally came he was awesome! Very patient explaining and recommending. Loved they had a very nice wine at a special price!! Had a great time!!
Excellent choice! For a couple wanting to enjoy a top quality meal and not end the night being too full, the extension of the Miami Spice menu was perfect! The Caesar Salad was amazing! After the fact, could have eaten that and split a steak as a meal by itself. Steaks and sides were very flavorful. Service was great, knowledgeable and personable wait staff. One of the best meals we’ve had while traveling. Ambiance was nice. Overall great experience. I would definitely go back.
We came for the Miami Spice menu and we were not disappointed! Usually the MS menus are not so great and are limited but this one has great selections to chose from. The carpaccio and the tuna tartare were excellent as appetizers and the steaks were also very delicious. Our service was great and the waiter was very helpful and attentive. I would definitely be back for a good steak and a martini!
What seemed like a good value with the Miami Spice turned out to be an expensive meal with average food.
The sea bass had too much butter. The prime rib was too fat. Both were small portions and had too little vegetables and potatoes. The carrot cake was just average.
Drinks were very expensive. Also, 18% service was added for a party of 2, which seemed unusual and unnecessary.
When I reserved on Open Table, I indicated it was our anniversary, however the restaurant did not acknowledge that.
The service was phenomenal. Our waiter, Adrian, was very attentive. He checked on us periodically and made several suggestions. He was never intrusive or overbearing. He was engaging and had a great attitude. Our food came out at a nice pace. We took advantage of the Miami spice menu, which was a great deal. Highly recommend the tuna tartare and the ceviche. They were fresh, refreshing, and perfectly seasoned. Overall, the evening was wonderful and the food memorable.
I had heard a lot about this restaurant and made a reservation well in advance of our trip to South Beach for Labor Day. When they called to confirm that morning, I asked if we could reserve a corner spot at the bar, as we were interested in watching a game on their TV in the bar. They said 'no problem'...When we got there, that wasn't the case, however, I did not mention it., and the bar was full. Either way, we were looking forward to a nice meal, and the food was tasty and timely delivered. The only thing I'll say is that our waiter was very robotic in nature...as if he wanted to get us in, and get us out. (AND, I didn't notice any line to get in or people waiting for reservations. In fact, we did sit at the bar after dinner for a cocktail - bartender was awesome! --- and I noticed many tables were empty. We had reservations at 8:30 pm). I certainly wouldn't bash this restaurant - but either our waiter was having a bad day --- OR, that's what management wants is for them to turn tables. In general, I think a waiter can really add a nice dynamic to the evening - especially since he asked if we had been there before.
Every part of this meal was amazing. Best money I spent all weekend. I chose the wagyu ribeye and I couldn't stop eating eat and I didn't even need A1 sauce because it was seasoned perfectly. This place will definitely be a stop for me Every time I'm in Miami.
Overall experience was good. We noticed that those going for Miami Spice had slowly service than others. I saw that many tables who sat and ordered after us, received their appetizers and second course before we had received our appetizers. The food was good, note that the Churassco comes VERY Charred. If you don't like it burnt on top with the grill marks, order the ribeye instead. Ribeye was delicious! Overall, it was pleasant minus the slow service.
