Service was extremely slow on a night with 1/2 full restaurant. There seemed to be a problem in the kitchen as orders to all tables came out slow. When I did receive my order, my starter arrived with my room temp ribeye. After asking twice, my fries came 5” later. Very disappointing.@
I made the reservation for 6:30 but was contacted to change it to 7, because they had another large party (we were a party of 8). Because we had young children, I didn’t want to push it too late so we agreed on 6:45. We were seated immediately. We ordered and after an hour, we were brought an appetizer of potatoes compliments of the chef. It was another half hour before we finally got our food. Meanwhile, tables of people who came in after us had been served. The starter salad was brought out at the same time as the main meal (on a dish that did not come with a salad, as some do where it is part of the plate). Two of the meat hooks that were ordered were cold. They brought out new meats for us. The steaks we ordered and replacement meat hooks were cooked perfectly and delicious. The truffle fries were delectable. The service was very friendly and attempted to correct for the problems with the very long wait for food, which was appreciated. Overall, it’s a nice atmosphere (except when they would leave the door open and it was very cold) with a lovely presentation of the food. If their service can be sped up to get food out in a timely manner, it would be a great experience.
meat was over cooked. I ask for medium burger and it came well done. ordered wine and it never showed up.
The service was impeccable and the steaks were amazing. The Brussel sprouts were out of this world. The new owner was on top of everything I would give this place 5 stars.
Was looking for a good spot for my dad since he loves ribs and it’s a it’s Father’s Day dinner .. thank god i found this place on open table because he said this is his new place for ribs.. Best he’s ever had!!!!
Family lunch on a quiet Friday afternoon. Grew up in the area but call Seattle home now. Many of the old haunts are gone, so tried Meat District Co. based on the online menu. Happy to say that the meals lived up to our hopes and expectations. Service was friendly and reasonably fast (but not hurried).
Family and I stopped in there over the weekend as it was close to our hotel. We arrived for an early dinner and were seated instantly (thanks OpenTable). The food was delicious and the service very prompt.
Definitely going to come back when we're in the area.
The garlic bread looked terrible and wasn't great tasting - the presentation was messy. My husband ordered a beer listed on the menu but they didn't have it. We also ordered the bone marrow but the server came back and told us they didn't have it either. Overall, the quality of the food did not justify the high prices.
I don't think we will be going back.
I love the aroma of grilling meat and the way that it carried through to the taste. Pure awesome.
We’ve been here before and it does not taste the same. There was more fat that meat on the ribs and I gagged when I bit into the chicken wings. Our server was sweet, that’s all I can say.
I Love Meat District and feel like I am eating healthy; I always get a salad with beef. I schedule for a Friday night dinner group but it had been a few months since we were at Meat District...the waitress remembered our group and what food and drink I order! How special is that!
The service was fast and friendly. The meat was definitely cooked to perfection as far as tenderness goes but neither the rib eye nor the beef ribs had a flavor that stood out when you bit into it.
Very good in all ways Excellent waitress . Delicious food. I am not a gig meat eater but my brother is . It was his birthday He was very happy.
The restaurant had a good ambience, and the food was delicious. However, unfortunately they had a horrible waitress.. To keep things short she basically rushed us to close out, nearly took my tray off of my table with a full side salad untouched. After that I was tempted to leave a $2 tip but I still had the will to leave a $8 tip which brought the bill to $64.××. When the transaction went through it posted for $74.××. Whatever the case might be, things like that are unacceptable in a business.
We arrived for our 4pm reservation to find the restaurant was closing at 4pm.
And now you want a review.
Obviously unimpressed and suspect about using this reservation system again.
Really not all that! The restaurant was nicely designed, but the menus are atrocious... large and cumbersome, and hard to read (badly designed). The table was sticky. The waitress was nice, but the food was so-so. For a $40 steak, cloth napkins should be standard. Burgers were over-cooked.
Burgers were delicious. Pork ribs were tasty but too greasy. Brussels sprouts were flavorful. Service was adequate. Open room was a bit chilly but the ambiance was fine.
Not our first visit, not our last - but not our best.
Meat was dried, fries tasted old.
Not your usual boring steakhouse, more like a high end burger joint. Very creative menu, although somewhat limited in meat choices. Salad with steak, great. Burger with grilled chicken, great but perhaps a bit on the over top sized (I didn't finish it, although quite good. Fries also excellent, stayed hot until end of meal thanks to the copper pipe (without a bottom) container. Design goes out of its way to be industrial... or a meat shop that happens to have a restaurant in it. Not like a traditional steak house at all, much more expensive than a chain restaurant when you are looking for a burger. Meant for a younger crowd, I'd say, but I'm in my late 50s and still enjoyed the experience.
Needed a quick place for dinner in Pasadena. Found this place on a Yelp search. Good concept with grass-fed, hormone-free meats but the food is clearly being marketed to the 'bigger is better' and 'more meat is better' crowd. The burgers come out so tall that there's no way they can stay together without the large knife they stick into them. Once you cut or bite into it the whole thing falls apart. We didn't order one of the meat platters or a hanging tower of meat but nobody should be eating that much meat. I'm not a vegetarian by any means but I'm guessing the servers throw out a lot of meat at the end of each meal. Such a waste. Also the place has zero ambiance and felt a little dirty. I'm 50 and likely not the target audience. Sorry. Won't be back.
Meat District was recommended to my friend so we decided to try it. They are famous for the quality of their meats and the "hook" which is a large wire hanging from a holder that can be beef or chicken with veggies at the bottom. The next table selected this entree and it was large and looked fresh and delicious. I chose the cheeseburger, since I had read reviews that they were good and I wasn't disappointed. It was enormous--1/2 lb. of ground beef and was so large I had to eat it with fork and knife. Ingredients included tomato, lettuce, pickle, and cheese. Delicious. My companion ordered the beef ribs and she wasn't thrilled with it. Nice char and I had a sample with smoky flavor. Prices tend to be on high side for such a limited selection of items but was of good quality.
Food good but wish they had more selections like prime rib, lamb chops etc. Had truffle burger & meat was delish. Onion rings were good but gigantic; it'd be nice if they have the crispy strips too. Our lady server was fantastic. Overall good food.
Great food but really expensive- do not get their quinoa burger it is terrible!
Tried this place because Slaters had a wait. Entering the restaurant the decoration was cool and industrial. The food didn't smell particularly good. They sat us down next to a homeless man who was sleeping on the chair. They were very under staffed and it took quite a bit of time to order and get food. After 10-15 of the homeless man laying down on the bench they finally asked him to leave. Servings were huge and overpriced.
Best burgers in Pasadena! They have a new manager, Chris from Australia who is very detail oriented to make sure your meal is perfect. Their waiters bend over backwards to make sure your dining experience is perfection!
We order the New York steak medium and a cheeseburger medium. Chef made the New York steak medium rare and the cheeseburger well. Re-cooked our order but gave me back the same stake medium and brought back a new cheeseburger. They should have cooked a new steak medium..... kind of tacky to put that steak back on the grill after I have taken a couple of bites from it.
Average at best. Ribs were cold. 4 items not available. Seemed to have minimal staff. Restaurant empty yet family of 4 with 2 kids were seated right beside us.
Food is average to slightly above average. Service is average. Ambience is slightly above average.
My wife was attending an annual convention that took us to Pasadena. Checked out what Groupons may be available and saw Meat District Co. Figured it would be a good 1st night dinner after driving from Phoenix. Parking is definitely an issue. Found a relatively decent priced lot 3 blocks away. Had made a reservation and were immediately seated at the front window table. The people watching of the sidewalk was a joy. My lady had a naked burger (how does she enjoy such plainness?) and I ordered the Brie Burger. She gave a solid thumbs up and after ditching the radishes(?) I gave mine 2 thumbs up. And as several reviews have noted - the fries are excellent. I had a coconut milk stout that was quite good. The Mrs. had a couple glasses of Pinot Noir. Nine dollars a glass is somewhat of a norm but for something more than a third of a glass. It's definitely upscale (the ribs, chops, and steaks would be worth a try some other time) and not a meal for those on a budget but the quality and the overall service was what one should expect. Our server (for the most part) was personable and adequately attentive. Sorry about the not so generous tip young man. After asking twice I'm still waiting for that glass of water. Would possibly return but recognized the Pasadena Old Town District is simply overflowing with dining choices. Very Impressive area.
Food are great, but customer service is a bit off.
Steak was dry and poor service. (Understaffed)
The biggest bummer about this place is the lost potential. The brussels sprouts would have been delicious, except for the wildly inconsistent temperature throughout which suggested they could have been microwaved. Appetizers and half the entrees came at the same time, while the other half took another 5-10 minutes to arrive. Small tweaks could make a huge difference here, but judging by the reviews it seems they're not interested in making the effort.
The food is good and servers are great.
But the restrooms both men and women were disgusting without soap. Overall, the restaurant looks like it is in need of deep cleaning.
I enjoyed the meat on the hook, very visually pleasing and rounded out nicely with lots of vegetables and fries aside from the steaks. The meat was tasty and tender but had some chewy sinewy parts that couldn't be chewed, but overall very good!
We tried multiple things and only like the burgers 🍔 the burgers are great
Stick with the great-tasting burger meat - one of us being vegetarian we also tried the squash-quinoa burger, which was a bit disappointing because it tasted like mashed potato. Truffle fries were not too truffly and greasy. I would come back to try more meat dishes.
I don't know where to start. Ordered a steak medium rare, got medium well. I returned it and got one with an ice cold part. I can't make this up. I got an iced tea with broken glass in it. Bathrooms were disgusting. Server was kind and apologetic. We paid for our overcooked halibut and left. Sad, place was great when it opened.
Food is great here but it was our third time, and used a Groupon. Service was not great, I'm sure our waitress was not pleased that we didn't drink alcohol as our service from that point on totally degenerated. No refills on drinks, my husband's burger arrived RARE when he ordered medium well, and in general things could have been better.... that said, the food has been great each time we have visited, which is why we have kept going back! Awesome fries, sweet potato fries and the burgers are delish. Not sure if we'll return though, I like to have reasonable service when dining out.
Excellent burger. Lamb roll a little dry. The truffle fries could be addictive.
